Koh Chang (Elephant Island) is a mountainous island with several waterfalls and rainforest. It is the second largest island in Thailand, located on the Thai east coast about 300km from Bangkok, near the border to Cambodia in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Chang is being developed from a backpackers' paradise to a top-level destination. Most accommodation is located on the western side of the island, where the sandy beaches are located.
