Samut Prakan, also know as Pak Nam, is at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River as it flows into the Gulf of Thailand and is only 30km from Bangkok. Samut Prakan is home to many sites of historical and cultural interest and Suvarnabhumi Airport (the new Bangkok International Airport) is also located here.
Some of the more popular attractions in the province include Mueang Boran (The Ancient City) with models of major tourist attractions around the country, the newly constructed Erawan Museum and the worlds largest crocodile farm with over 60,000 crocodiles including the largest crocodile held in captivity.
