The restaurant opens daily, especially at night; a sumptuous dinner is served in deepening twilight to the buzz of thousands of cicadas. Located in the heart of Mae Sariang District, Riverhouse Resort is within walking distance from a bus station (approx. a 3-minute walk) together with shops and restaurants. Mae Sariang is in the middle between Chiangmai and Mae Hong Son and is at an approximate distance of a 3-hour ride from both cities at opposite directions.

Various ways to Riverhouse Resort:

By own vehicle:

- Take Highway no. 105 from Mae Sot (Tak Province) or Highway no. 108 from Hot (Chiangmai Province) to arrive Mae Sariang.
- Take Highway no. 108 from Mae Hong Son to arrive Mae Sariang.

By Bus

- Direct buses are available daily from Bangkok's Mo-chit North Terminal.

By Van

Vans are available from Chiangmai at Ou-pa-Kut temple, leaving at 2 p.m. daily. Vans from Mae Sariang to Chiangmai are also organised by the same company, leaving Mae Sariang at 07.30 a.m. daily.

By Plane

Travellers are recommended to fly to Chiangmai, then either take the van suggested above or hire a privately organized van with a driver. Riverhouse Hotel does not offer van services but provides the number of a van company located in Chiangmai, where travellers can make reservations directly. (Reservations of at least 7 days in advance are recommended.)

Accommodation and facilities:
Arrived in the hotel at 10 pm. There was no hot water in the shower. Complained to the reception and they sent a man to my room to find out what the problem was. He could not fix it. I had to come to the reception again with the same complaint. The reception eventually admitted that the whole hotel had no hot water. So sending that man to my room was just a delaying tactics. I understood that they simply disconnected central water heating system late at night to save money hoping that guests won't need hot water at such late hour. I made a scene at the reception and by midnight they turned the hot water back on. Horribly experience. The hotel is a way overpriced and the noise from slamming doors from the corridors woke me up early in morning as guests left their rooms to go to the restaurant for breakfast.

The room is clean with basic facility. Seems to be the best condition in Mae Sariang. Breakfast is eatable. Staffs at front deask are very helpful, but not at breakfast area. Walking distance to local restautant.

Accommodation and facilities:
This hotel was fairly cheap so the average room was to be expected. There was it was very basic. But Mae Sariang is a small town. The hotels other site- the Riverhouse Hotel looked really nice witha great view. Breakfast was a choice of the usual western style (bacon/eggs etc) or we saw a variety of Asian options too. We stayed only 1 night, if it were longer we may have looked for an alternative. Did the job.

With no comparable level of hotel in the area, there's no competition. Accordingly it's a bit expensive for what it is. There is no elevator - could be a problem for the less agile guest staying on the third floor. Staff all friendly and keen to help.

Riverhouse Resort provided us with a pleasant stay for two nights. We were impressed with the friendly, helpful staff. We also found everyone in Mae Sariang to be very friendly and eager to help a foreigner.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The vieuw was great. From our balcony we saw the river and palmtrees. Good value for the money and the service in the restaurant is very good and friendly.
