Bura Lumpai Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
Stayed 6 nights in early June 2011. Low season so good rate for hotel but the hotel grounds were poorly maintained and the pool not maintained at all so not usable for the duration of our stay. Hotel room was poor standard of cleanliness and cleaning service of room well below expectations. Location of hotel was fine but own transport is definitely required if you want to stay at this place. Hotel food only average but have to say very cheap. The bathroom was an Entymologist's dream world. It only had half a roof and the number and variety of visiting insects after sundown, especially on a wet evening defied belief. I ve spent almost 2 years of my life living in Thailand on and off and it is my favourite country in the world and I m fortunate enough to have travelled very widely. However, this bathroom almost put me off for life. Most Europeans or indeed most people from developed countries would really struggle to accept such a bathroom. Being with my Thai fiancee did make up for all the hotel's shortcomings but it was in fact her who complained to the management about the state of the hotel room and Thai people normally do not complain. Cannot recommend; even to local Thais who are more used to flying insects than I am. I would not consider going back to this place but would certainly go back to Pai.

Bura Lumpai Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
I expected the hotel to be located in Pai itself, but it was located about 10 kilometers outside of town. To us that was important, but was also the only negative about the hotel. Very nice bungalows, friendly service and willing to do something extra.
