The White House is a very nice place to stay with a family. I would rate it 3 ½ Star. It was probably 4 Star 10 years ago, but has not had any work done in that time. Tired. However the Staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful. Special recognition should go to Om (Reception),Toey(Porter/Driver) and the breakfast staff (Pregnant girl and Chef especially). The location is great, the breakfast food is good. We only ate in the resort once in the evening. Generally we went to “The Orchard” across the road each night. The only real negatives or warnings I would point out to future guests are: 1, The Thai Suites are really quite tired, with allot of damp and very loud creaky floor boards and doors. This will not work for anyone travelling with a baby or small kids that need to go to bed early or wake up easily. We spent 1 night and switched to 2 deluxe rooms with a conjoining door, far better and only a little more expensive. 2. Sun loungers on the beach. Because the hotel attracts a mainly continental European guest type, you should already expect stiff competition for sun beds on the beach, but here it is really bad because rather than getting their butts up early and going down for an early breakfast and to put towels on the beds themselves, they call the restaurant staff and Pre-book certain beds! This is shocking behaviour and very selfish, so just be prepared to join in the selfish action or get up very early. It was not an issue for us as we were up early with a 1 year old every day so always got 2 beds, but it was really bad for people that turned up at 9am only to find towels on the back of every single bed and then the “Owners” of these beds turn up at like 10:30. The White House should not allow this, but I cannot see it changing. Overall I would recommend The White House to friends and I would go back, not I know the right way to utilise it. Have a nice stay.

Очень много зелени. Настоящие джунгли. Утром птицы поют. Чистый ухоженный пляж. Белый песок. Лежаки из тика. Море без камней. Небольшой но всегда чистый бассейн. Все постройки в тайском стиле. Как снаружи, так и внутри. Подкачал санузел - скромная сантехника и плитка. Из-за ливней в ноябре - номер не успел просохнуть и несколько дней чувствовался запах плесени. Персонал очень старательный и приветливый. Смена белья через день. Завтрак достаточно обильный, но так как отель небольшой - блюда менялись редко. Хотя все было на хорошем уровне. Вечером достойное тайское и европейское иеню (лучше чем в уличных кафе). В целом отель на твердую троечку.

Had the day before departure to re-book for another number. Confirmation came on the day of departure. We are somewhat worried.

First off, before you read the commetns below, we really liked this hotel and will return. Negatives: 1. There is no shower in the room - just a bath, so you ve got to sit down to take a shower. 2. There is very limited on site parking. 3. The TV is useless - half the channels don't work and those that do there was only 1 or 2 english speaking ones. 4. In places, the hotel is a little tired . 5. During our stay, there was a leak in the roof which affect the room above us. The repair works started at 8am and went on for a couple of days - lots of noise and no explanation or apology from the hotel. Positives: 1. The rooms are nice and big and the beds comfy. 2. The staff, generally, are really nice. 3. Good secure hotel if you have small kids - impossible for them to wonder off. 4. Pool is nice. 5. Beach here is great (always has been). All round, an enjoyable stay and ideal if you are looking for a realtively peaceful beach with no loud music and 20 somethings making alot of noise. However, if you want the night life you ve gotta get a cab to/from Chaweng (10 mins and 300 Baht)..... which is not a big deal really.

We enjoyed our stay at White House very much. The hotel area is well maintained. Lots of plants which looks quite nice. The rooms are clean and actually much bigger than I expected. A very few damages in the room prevented me from giving the highest room quality rating. Apart from that the hotel offers a few services for free as for example pick-up service from/to the airport, internet and sunbeds which was also not bad. As regards the beach I would say the best on Samui. Very good for swimming. Less packed compared to the bigger Chaweng. Excellent for couples. Perhaps a bit boring if you look for fun, party and late night action. Conclusion: Recommended. Would definitely come back.

We had booked two junior svits. When we arrived they seemed small and one of them smell very mouldy. So we wanted to change rooms and then we realised that every room at the hotel no matter superior, de luxe or junior svits are exactly the same!!! but the prices differ depending how near the beach or pool they are.There was no problem to change rooms,and we got a free meal at the hotel as an apology. But still think their internet site should be changed so they won't have more unhappy customors when they realise that every room are alike! Rooms look otherwise nice and clean,people at the hotel very nice, restaurant and SPA expensive compare to the others at the street. Good breakfast buffé and free internet. Has an ok pool and possibility to have a shower room when late checkout. Lies in the middle of Choeng moon beach a small nice beach. More calm than chaweng but most things a bit more expensive than in Chaweng. Overall a nice place to stay at and rest but no late evenings with parties.

В отеле есть бесплатный Wi-Fi, правда на компьютерах в библиотеке уcтановлена незнакомая мне операционка, и клавиатура только на английском (и тайском конечно), так что кто планирует общение посредством интернета, берите свои КПК или ноутбуки. В номере сейф, телевизор,DVD, мини бар. В целом отель на 4-ку, т.к. сантехника могла быть и получше. Завтраки стандартные для всех отелей, яйца в любом виде, сосиски, гарниры,йогурты,чай, кофе и т.д. Вечером неплохо готовят морепродукты. В отеле проводил мало времени, т.к. интересно было весь остров посмотреть, брал на прокат мотороллер и объездил весь остров. Интересно было посмотреть на все пляжи. Общее впечатление такое, можно выбрать отель и пляж на любой вкус и кошелек. Бронировал отель и билеты через asiahotels.ru, о чем не пожалел. Цены действительно оказались выгодней чем в турагенстве, да и свобода от турпакета, ограниченного количеством дней, тоже привлекает. Сам остров Самуи очень красивый. Кто только собирается - едьте не задумываясь! Думаю Антон Соколов вам поможет выбрать наилучший вариант. Желаю всем отличного отдыха!

nice location on the beach - to the right you find a more social section with hotels and restaurants, but to the left there are practically no hotels so the beach is empty. room is truly big but do not expect anything overly sophisticated: the rooms are definitely not brand-new, although clean and tidy. library room with books and dvd's to take to your room for rainy days. also sufficient and good breakfast, but not so much variety so you may get bored if you stay over a week or so.

Good size room with nice fixtures and fittings but bathroom needed refurbishment.Beautiful grounds and gardens leading through dining area to beach.Lovely beach with umbrellas and sunloungers but they were old and some were broken and dangerous. No attention to health and safety.Worst thing was food,no basic hygeine standard and food at breakfast was covered in flies.Food needs to be covered and chilled.Evening and lunch menu not competative with adjacent venue and waiter did not understand sufficient English to get order correct.

L hotel est parfaitement situé, le personnel est à vos petits soins, les chambres sont grandes et confortables, quoique un peu sombres. Le restaurant est bon, mais un peu cher comparé aux autres restau de la plage, qui sont excellents et moins onéreux; bref nous vous recommandons cet hotel. Pour le linge sale, aller à la blanchisserie en face de l hotel(60 baths lavé et repassé nickel), et pour vos excursions,la fille qui tient l agence en face aussi est trés efficace (n ayez pas peur de négocier).

Great hotel, definite value for money. Right on the beach, excellent staff, very friendly. Beach wonderful - fine white sand, clean. Water not very transparent though - unlike at Chaweng. But I noticed that is what all beaches at the North of the island are like. Breakfast served outside near the beach - enjoyed it very much. Two major issues with the room. We had the Junior Suite, which was value for money BUT the mattress was HARD as wood - we could not sleep and therefore had to switch hotels (White House was fully booked so they couldn't move us to a different room). The other sufficient drawback for us (but perhaps some would find this minor) is that the room is almost completely DARK due to the tinted windows and the fact that the room is on the ground floor and has a garden view. The gardens are lush and beautiful - like small jungle - but it does not let any light through. Perhaps, rooms on the 1st floor are a better choice if you want more light?..

Lovely small hotel. Nothing is too much for the staff who are very attentive at all times. We had initially booked the Chomduan Suite which I would say is not suitable for anyone who is elderly or slightly infirm. We were moved to a junior suite which was fine with far better access.I thoroughly recommend this hotel for value,excellent staff and situation.

We had the most wonderful stay at the White House. Our room was very clean and spacious which slept my husband and 2xgirls. Tea was served in our room every afternoon with fruit or a snack. Breakfast was fresh and very tasty. Based right on the beach with free sun loungers and parasols - towels provided.The hotel staff cannot do enough for you and are very friendly. The Spa treatments were out of this world and left us very uplifted and relaxed. We would return without question.

This is our 3rd stay at this hotel and it is a great place, the hotel, staff and location is perfect.I do feel sorry for the staff in the evening who set our all the tables for evening dinners only to get disapponited at the ammount of people who dine there is is because the cost of the meals do not compete with other places on the beach....... When we left the hotel my wife left 2 gold rings in the safe, the cleaner's rush down to the airport and caught us at the desk bookingin and returned the rings to us, how's that for honesty. My thanks to all at the hotel for making our hoilday enjoyable. hopefully see you next year..

We had thai suite chomdao chomduan double . It was decored in thai style with thai furniture. The suite is quite dark. We had a private yard with little tables and beach chairs. The hotel itself is very small, but really green and kept in good condition. Very friedly staff. Hotel dinner is quite expensive, but there are many little restaurants around. The sea was very calm all the time, but water's not very clean. All in all, the hotel is worth it's price.

2 weeks in paradise :) The hotel is really nice - very green and tidy. You feel like in the heart of jungle. At the same time rooms are clean, big enough. Breakfast could be more various. If you stay for a long time - it can bother. Beach is very good - we drived by bike around the island and we always returned to our choengmon beach. Location of this beach is also good if you do not like crasy rythm of Chaweng - you can stay at Choengmon and visit Chaweng when needed - just 10 minutes drive. I would definitly stay once more, because this hotel is optimal for me, but next time we want to visit other islands as well.

I was very pleased with our stay. The location on the beach is great, the rooms (superior and deluxe) are spacious and well appointed. The bathroom layout is a little weird - with the shower in the middle of the room without any enclosure. The hotel is not new, and there were some problems with the sewage, resulting in smell in the bathrooms. That were always promptly fixed. Free WiFi in the rooms is a nice perk, as is the library/computer room. The breakfast area is adjacent to the beach and the meal itself is very good. The included massage was of good quality. The pool is small and not impressive.

Excellent service, as usual in Thailand. The rooms were spacious and attractive, the setting beautiful, but we felt a bit claustrophobic after a couple of days on the small beach. Fortunately, it was not crowded (bad for tourism, good for us), and we were able to rent a jeep and get out to explore.The hotel is of good, but no longer of modern luxury standard. Nevertheless, it represents very good value for money. The restaurant was of good quality and the food varied.

Absolutely excellent. Have just returned to Aus after spending three weeks in Thailand and the White House on Koh Samui stood out in all respects. The buildings were well maintained & the gardens were a highlight. Rooms, private, spacious and cleaned to a high standard. Enjoyed excellent buffet breakfasts at the hotel restaurant overlooking a sheltered beach as well as a cocktail or two around the pool. All staff were exceptional. Friendly & fully accommodating. Beautiful resort. Thai suite not so good for the price all the floor boards and furniture creaked making it really noisy. Nice beach but a little too quite with no shopping and not too many restaurants close by. All staff were very helpful and pleasant in manner. There was no atmosphere within the resort all guests really kept to themselves and weren't too friendly. Great pool and breakfast not to mention the complimentary tea and biscuits in the afternoon delivered to room.

Hotel was really excellent value for money. Without exception all the staff were there to help and were the friendliest I have come across in many holiday resorts. The food needs a look at for their own sakes, we ate out every night after the first night. The rooms were kept very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Special mention for the Thai massage ladies, they were simply the best.

The Hotel sits in a green oasis of amazing plants, and is very good value. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean, the bath/shower was a little tricky to get in and out of!The beach is lovely and not too busy. We could not fault the staff who were at all times very helpful and charming! Travelling to other parts of the island from here is very easy. We would highly recommend this hotel for families and couples we all had a very relaxing happy time and hope very much to be able to return! We shall be recommending a visit to anyone who tells us they will be going to Koi Samui!!

Fantastic place and we will definitely go back! The staff is so nice here, taking really really good care of you, and make you feel very welcome. The rooms are big and very nice and clean, fresh bathroom with a small jacuzzi. Only negative thing was that there was no place to sit outside the bungalow. The staff was really helpful and provided free pick up service from the airport. When we arrived they gave us a welcome drink and there was fresh flowers and fruit in the rooms. We were there with our baby, and the staff took such good care of him, playing with him while we were eating breakfast (which by the way was a very good breakfast). Nicely situated on the beach with beach chairs right in front of the resort. Every morning the staff were holding the same seats for us on the beach. The hotel also offers free internet. The rooms are situated in two rows in a lovely garden. Restaurant is good but a bit overpriced. All together a fantastic place that we really recommend!

Der direkt angrenzende weisse Strand ist wirklich sehr schoen, flach abfallend und liegt in einer romantischen von palmen und Kasuaren Büschen Bucht. Das hotelhat Liegen am Strand an und der Service ist professionell und sehr persoenlich. Die Bungalows liegen in einer tropischen Atmosphaere mit Blick in die Anlage.Das white house ist eine kleine sehr gepflegte Anlage mit sehr persoenlichem Flair. \r\nWir koennen die Anlage sehr empfehlen. Das Fruehstueck ist in Buffettform aufgebaut und ist sehr reichhaltig und gut. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefuehlt.

A Small, Personal,Friendly quiet hotel with wonderful location. About 20 minutes from the airport Staff v friendly and willing to help with smile nothing too much trouble. Swimming pool good size possibly slightly over chlorinated for my liking but v clean Sea particularly good for children .It is calm, the sand is smooth and depth increases very gradually. Plenty of umbrellas and recliners on the beach(No extra charge) Dinner is often served on the beach and it is an experience. Very good value for money We (three adults) enjoyed our stay and no hesitation in going there again

The best in Samui!!! we have just spent 2 weeks staying at The White House with our 2 small children and have had a truly wonderful time.We originally booked to stay for one week with the intention of staying somewhere different for our second week but after looking at several other resorts including the Sala Samui(Choengmon Beach)nothing compared to the all round excellence of this place. We stayed in a junior suite which faced onto the pool...perfect.The rooms are by no means new but they are immaculatley clean and have lots of space and a truly authentic Thai feel as does the whole resort which to me is the whole reason for going to Thailand.The fresh friut, cake and thai tea that was left in our room daily was a really nice touch and much appreciated by my 3yr old!!!The white House commands the prime position of Choengmon beach which is I believe Samuis best as it is quiet,safe and pretty wether it is high or low tide.The gardens of the resort a so beautiful I m missing them already.Fantastic staff,so helpful and friendly.The restaurant serves excellent food and Choengmon Beach has several other great places to eat if you don't feel like venturing down to Chaweng.We will definately be back to stay here again...... just magic!!

We have been at several resorts at Koh Samui and until now White House Beach Resort & Spa absolutely is the best. Nice and warm welcoming. Very big clean room so, that you can place all from your suitcases. It has both aircon and fan. The garden is fantastic, so exotic and beautiful. The restaurant is one of the best with both western as well as Thai food, which we are very fond of. The staff is very nice and helpful. The beach is one of the best at Koh Samui. Small, Quiet, white sand, no big waves, nice for the kids and the grownups, with a lot of possibilities for relaxing, playing and having fun. That’s for sure – we are back next year.

Lovley hotel! Not the most luxurious, but wery good location at the Choengmoon beach with wery helpful and friendly staff. We were a bit dissapointed because we ordered a room with two bedroom because of the children. When we got our room the door between the rooms where broken. It was unpossible to close and could not be fixed. But because we had a room with poolwiew, so children could sleep at daytime when we used babycall and stayed in the pool. There are only two rooms with directly wiew to the pool, so you better order early if you like one of them. (I strongly recomend if you have small children.) There is very little/ no sun in the garden between the other rooms, and be aware of long stairs to get to 2 floor rooms. If there is something missing at this place, it must be a relaxinplace to sit outside rooms. The restaurant is wery good, and staff wery helpful. The beach is the best on Koh Samui if you have children, -wery calm water here. Visit the massage ladies on the beach, very good and lot cheaper than at hotel. Not to much to do at night, everything was closed at 11 o clock. Recomend the taylor across the street KING S TAYLOR. They give you best price and quality on the clothes.(We tryed differents.) Recomend this place if you like small, cosy hotels, and care for a good beach. Quiet place, but near by Chaweng and Boputh if you like some moore action! Here you can relax!!! Love to go back.

This is a nice resort in the middle of the Choeng Mon beach. I stayed here for 11 nights recently and found both the hotel and the staff very satisfying. We stayed in the junior-suite wich is ok. I don't know what makes it a suite comparing to the other ordinary rooms, but maybe we got a DVD-player or a better location to the pool.. The beds are somewhat hard and the bathroom could need an upgrade. Everyday we had fruit or tea and bisquits served + newspaper. There were also TV with several international channels and a minibar + coffee-fascilities. The resort is a bit compressed, having no big areas or green lawns. It only has one main-street between the villas down to a pool and restaurant. The restaurant is very nice. Many choice of dinners (both thai and international) and drinks. Wine is expensive, but that's the way all over Thailand. From the restaurant you re just metres from the lovely beach and sea. Almost every night the restaurant serves delicsious fish (I tasted shark and lobster - very good) on the beach. They actually move the restaurant out on the beach and bring nice candles lights and live guitar-music. Very romtantic :-). The staff is truely amazing! They were cleaning the pool when we first got there, but it was ready for a swim some days later. It is a nice pool, and not to crowded. Although I could imagine it beeing somewhat different in high-season times. Not to big pool either, but ok. Choeng Mon beach is a very clean and small beach (about 1-2 km) with no problem with low or high tide water. It is not a snorkling-place - the water is not clear as you might think (please visit Koh Tao/NangYang Island if snorkling is you re favourite thing - Samui is nothing) You can rent kayakk or jet skies on the beach. There are also a handfull other restaurants on the beach, but the White House restaurant is both cheap and nice compared to the others.. They also have thai-massage all over the beach + tailors. The staff and reception were great. Unfortunately not everyone speaks fluid english, but in most times it was never a problem. They can also arrange for taxies, tours and other things for you (it may be better than strolling the streat outside and get a bad tour-deal etc.) Chaweng is 300Baht (one way) away with local taxi. Choeng Mon centre (just outside the hotel) is nothing particular and never a place you would go shopping. There is a nice 7/11 nearby where you can buy grosceries. There are also ATM-maschines out on the street. I d still prefer Chaweng for shopping or a nice restaurant visit. My conclusion: OK things: - Value for money - Friendly and great staff - Clean rooms - Nice location by the nice and calm Choeng Mon beach - Good restaurant with good food and great staff - Never lack of towels or sun-beds (by pool or beach) Bad things: - Bathroom needs an upgrade (nothing wrong, just needs a fresh up) - Very compressed resort (no big areas or places for the kids to be) - Dogs on the beach (but I think this is all over the island) - Many sellers on the beach (if you don't like them, as I do)

Very nice beach for relaxing and for children. The hotel is also very nice but but be sure to pick the right room. We booked the suite and it was located far away from the beach and with one steep staircase up. We changed to a superior room closer to the beach witch satisfied our needs much better. I would try to book the junior suits that is placed next to the pool. The buffet breakfast was very good. Staff is very helpful but not so good at English so be sure to explain so they understand. Cheap and good massage at the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

The place is really beautiful. the tropical garden is fantastic. We stayed in a ground level garden suite and the room was - in our opinion - a little bit dark, we would recommend to take a 1st floor suite. Room and bath were clean, the whole service was fine, pleasant and helpful. Beach is fine and sandy and for families with children this place would be perfect. The restaurant at the beach offers good food. We stayed for 4 days and we enjoyed being there.

We stayed one night in the Junior Suite and the rest in the Changdao Suite. Would recommend the Junior Suite. The Changdao Suite does look very nice in Thai Ayutthaya Style (everything wood, nice statues,...), but you hear everything around you and everybody can hear everything from you. And the suite is close to the reception,so it is far away from the beach. In the Junior Suite we got a honeymoon welcome with rose blossoms all over the room and a heart made of rose blossoms on the bed and a huge flower basket. Fruits or pinapple cookies every day on the room, the resort itself with lots of plants everywhere, very nice. Restaurant is definately overpriced, same quality but much cheaper at the next restaurant just 20 meters away. The beach is fine, but very flat. At least 5 tailors on Choengmon Beach, but no other shops besides Seven 11 and 2 small local shops and a pharmacy. Not a good place if you want action or shopping possibilities, but good place to relax. Would recommend it.

The gardens, pool area and beach were lovely, and there were an excellent variety of foods for breakfast, as I d expected from the reviews and internet research. I was a little dissapointed to see a jet ski hire set up on the beach as I was expecting it to be a quiet location. None-the-less, it was a great spot for swimming and getting some rays. We stayed in the Thai Suite as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff had gone to a great deal of effort to decorate the bed with flower petals, and there was a fresh flower arrangement in the room - both of which were lovely. The daily delivery of papers, tea and biscuits or fruit were also refreshing touches. The negative aspects relate to the suite. Although the private courtyard and deck chairs were great, the suite was unfortunately quite dark, musty smelling and leaked badly in serveral places in the living area after a heavy down pour (which probably explained the smell), and we had lots of mosquitos to contend with inside - despite the screens. The other rooms within the resort are much newer and may not have these some problems.

White House Hotel was wonderful. Management and staff very hospitable and friendly. Food was lovely and rooms very nice and very clean. We originally planned to stay 4 nights and then changed our booking to 11 nights because we were so happy with this hotel. The beach area is lovely. Very relaxing to sit and enjoy the views around the shore. Nice places to eat also near the hotel including a lovely Indian restaurant just accross the road. Not much shopping near the hotel but that is just a 6 min taxi drive away into Chaweng. Overall, we were extremely pleased with this hotel and would definately revisit again :-)

This hotel is wonderful. The beach is the nicest on Samui and the hotel is gorgeous. Best hotel for the money I have been to in Thailand (and I have been to quite a few in Phuket, Chaing Mai, Cha-am, Ko Chang, Ao Nang, and Ko Lanta). Only negative is that the bar and food is expensive but cheaper options are available right next door on the beach. Stay here.
