Excellent hotel and excellent location in the first line of the Lamai beach. Very close to reach beach and sea. Breakfast has been delicious and enjoyable for the whole 2 weeks stay. Staff is friendly, smiling and accurate. Rooms in the hotel seem to need a little update and maintenance but nevertheless very comfortable. Hotel provides free Wifi which has been really a plus. There are also a lot of cafes and restaurants of different cuisines which are just 5 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. We are suggesting this hotel to everybody planning to travel to Samui. Really nice hotel in amazing place. It is small, cozy and quiet, yet located close to shops and restaurants. And it is only one minute to the sea with white sand seashore. You won't even have to cross any roads, just leave the room and you are almost there, if you don't mind to walk through beautiful garden, of course. At check in you receive complimentary fruit drink and refreshing towel, wich was just what we needed, as our flights were delayed by 4 hours, and that was a bit devastating. Room is nice too. Clean, comfy, with air conditioning (apparently, they upgraded a/c system so it is efficient and relatively quiet too). We got standard room wich is great value for the money. Or, maybe even better, as it has all the neccesary things, which you may have left at home: towels, bath robes, slippers, soap, shampoo and even toothbrushes with toothpaste. TV is there and hair dryer too. But wait, there is more! Free Internet at reception as well as free Wi-Fi in rooms and even at the beach are just perfect to stay in touch with friends and relatives. Getting down to food, I must say, that breakfasts are good and though there is not much to choose from, everything in place: bread, sausages, bacon, coocked potatoes and noodles with vegetables, eggs, milk, cereal, yoghurt, juices, fresh fruits, coffee and tea. Everything served with amazing view, as buffet and restaurant face the sea. Restaurant wich is mentioned in Restaurants of Ko Samui booklet is good, if a bit pricey (but that is common thing with hotel restaurants). Still you can have nice time there if you don't feel like walking 5 minutes to all that cafes, bars and restaurants in the street. Staff is very polite and friendly, so it is really a pleasure to stay at hotel. All in all: magnificent view, great service, good rooms, perfect location.

Hotel itself was lovley but in need of an upgrade, reception and cleaning staff were nice and friendly but kitchen staff in need of change. as part of my booking the round trip to airport was free but they still tried to charge me for it unsuccessfully but overall it was a pleasant hotel and one of the best on the beach

This hotel is in a good location if you want some FUN, but it is not that quiet. The beach is very crowded, and the resort has about 10 plastic chaise lounges, which means if it is busy you need to reserve your's while you are sipping your coffee. The pool, which I did not swim in seemed nice for pools, but the atmosphere was poor. We just spent 7 days at CocoPalm Resort on Maenam beach (paradise by the way)- and they had everything to the Hill. They folded towels and made the pool look inviting and such, where as this resort, gave you ONE towel in your room, and the pool just looked deserted and the lounge chair covers were black- Uhm.... Ouch after several hours in 30 plus degree weather. The staff didn't seem to really know what their job's were, and how to serve the guests. They also didn't seem to have a good command of the English language, and I don't have any command of Thai, so at times it was difficult to make my requests known. The breakfast was standard and ok, but having done alot of resorts in Thailand, I would say that this one is one of the less desired. On this beach, I saw Weekender and Thai House, I went for a tour, and that is where I will stay next time!

very good territory and quiet zone near swimming pool. we enjoyed the hotel rooms. main drawback - standard double rooms had one connection door with the other room. this door was locked but you can hear everything that is happening in the next room. hotel management did not bother of accomodating family with just born baby or tow young and very excited guys next to quiet couples. this should be considered. there were spare rooms left, so everyone could be accomodated at their convenience. Extremely poor breakfast which by no means costs 500 BAHT per day per person, for this money one can get a breakfast and lunch. or since the hotel charges this amount it should provide a good variety of dishes.

We stayed in one of the poolside villas. The room wasn't as nice as it looked on line and could of done with a makeover but it was clean and plenty big enough. The only problem with the room was the shower...it was very very basic and not very effective and considering how much we paid to stay there that was the one problem for me, although I did get used to it as the week went on. The room itself was ideally situated for the pool and the great beach is only a one minute walk with more than enough sunbeds for everyone. The hotel itself is very peaceful but as its only a 3 minute walk to the restaurants,shops and bars so you can have as little or as much of either as you choose. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! Koh Samui is fabulous and for me the Samui Sense Beach Resort is ideally situated for what we are looking for in a resort.

There was so much oil on the beach, so we had black feet after a little trip. Pity because it was a very nice beach. The bungalow was ok, nothing extraordinary. And they forgot to pick us up at the airport. It was very, very expencive to eat and drink in the restaurant.

We had a superior room in the main building for three nights. Excellent resort hotel, quiet, well maintained, gut service, clean and very good value for money. The buffet breakfast offered a great choice of fresh dishes, including omelettes made to order. The gardens and the pool were kept very tidy. The beach was lovely and kept clean by the staff. The location is perfect for an evening's wander up the main street with all the shops, bars and restaurants, where the general price level is much lower than in Chaweng. We would stay in the resort again but would probably book a cottage for a longer stay. Thank you to management and personnel for making our stay very pleasant.

Me and my husband booked via SiameServices a Junior suite for two weeks from Christmas day and over New Year. We just loved it! The hotel with very good service staff, great placed on the calm Lamai beach is warm recommended. No compulsary dinner was enclosed in the price which we appreciate a lot! Lamai beach is an adult one as waves can be very hard - but this also makes it to a good alternative when you don't want to hear children screaming all day long...

We liked this hotel. The area is quiet, but only few minutes by foot to shops and restaurants. We had Thai-Bungalow: it is a little bit dark and the bathroom is quiet old, but it has nice terrace and enough space to the next bungalow. We was satisfied with our room. The room was cleaned and the towels were chanched every day. The staff ist very friendly. The restaurant is situated on the beachside. The breakfast could be better, but supper or dinner were always very tasty (but it is most cheaper to eat outside!!) The price is not very cheap. But we can recommend this hotel if you would like to spend some relaxed days on Lamai Beach.

Very nice hotel...quiet and never crowded. Nice beach.Food was pretty good but you can get better food outside the resort. Loved the room. Wished I had booked a room with a balcony and window. Felt our standard room in the main building on the ground floor was a bit dark. Also, cable only had one english speaking channel. Service was great and very professional. Free internet in the lobby was a nice added bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

We visited Samui Sense as two families with 4 children altogether and all of us enjoyed the stay here absolutely excited - friendly and always smiling staff ready to help you with all your demands, good swimming pool, nice and clean beach with free sun beds and umbrellas plus clean beach towels every day at your disposal, perfect rooms with a good A/C, ideal silent location close to he main silent street in Lamai, free internet access 24 hours, etc. I can highly recommend this hotel not only for a family holidays

the hotel is great staff very good, welcome drink and cool toewl upon arrive, room is prepare and aircond on before we come over so we feel good cool in the room. Beach is great and not too much of people, more quiter than chaweng. Have a very good sea site restorance and the price is ok too. Night life and restoreance, shop all very nearby in walking distance. Also 10 walk away have a small nightmarket selling all the local diner food, is cheap and very local teaste compare with ohter in lamai.Room picture as same as show in web site, i think even nicher. good resort and good location.

We stayed 6 nights in a pool villa. The room was confortable however the bathroom definitely needs renovation. It was clean but the shower system a bit old and we often took a cold shower . We really liked the hotel, small, cosy good service and the breakfast was OK as well (however always the same). The restaurant at night is really nice with lights on the beach and the food is excellent ! Not expensive either. We moved hotel afterwards and realised that the price we payed for Samui sense is quite expensive and you can find rooms of better quality cheaper elsewhere. (we moved to Lamai Wanta). It would be nice to put big plants between the pool villa terraces to create some intimacy.

When we arrived to a rather drab reception area, we were given a very welcome cold towel and welcome drink before being shown to our room. As soon as we entered the building there was a strong smell of dampness and when we went into our ground floor room the smell was overwhelming. The room itself was lovely and (for once!) just as shown on the website. We unpacked, showered and went out to the pool. When we returned to the room a couple of hours later we decided to have a little sleep but found that the the bed and linens were really quite wet. Our clothes which had been hung up for just a short time also felt damp. We asked if we could be given another room and were shown to one on the next floor which appeared to be fine - no smell of damp. However, when we went to bed that night we found that the bed was very damp and although we had booked this hotel for 6 nights, after 2 we moved on to another hotel. It's such a shame as this could be a lovely hotel but they really need to sort out the dampness. I must add that the breakfast was very poor too.

Usually I don't complain about hotels because I tend to take things in stride. But I was very disappointed with this hotel. It wasn't even close to the pictures on line. Two things were decent - the beach and the cleaniness of the rooms. There are a lot of things that went wrong but I'll only go into detail about two. There was no hot water and they brought in a whole staff of people to our room for hours trying to fix the pipes. They said something had broken. After a while I finally asked to be moved to a different room. We walked back to our hotel late in the evening and there was no security and the gate was open. We finally found the security after we went to speak with the manager. Apparently the security was eating and left the gate opened and unattended. It doesn't sound like a big deal but when you spend a lot of money renting a motorbike, the last thing you want on your vacation is for it to be stolen. I would not recommend this hotel. And believe me I ve traveled the world and this is my first complaint about a hotel.

The online Hotel room reservation from Germany, as well as our modifications and short term extention by telephone of our stay at the Hotel went just perfect - very competent, accurate, considerate and friendly personnel. The location kept a 100% what we were expecting of a dream holiday resort in Koh Samui (tastefully furnished, clean, spacious rooms in a tropical garden, directly on the most beautiful sand beach of Koh Samui (a lot better than Chaweng - we personally checked it out !!). It is defenitely our preferred place to stay in Koh Samui and we will defenitely return next year. We recommended the place to friends today, that are travelling in June and asked us to recommend a place! Although we had a short escape of 1 day (30. - 31.3)to a real gorgeous 5 Star Luxury Hotel, we returned after one night (despite we were booked 4 days !), because even the 5-Star hotel just couldn´t compete at all with the beautiful location of the Samui Sense Beach Resort. The cost/performance ratio is excellent. The restaurant on the beach, sitting on nicely set tables with harmonic candles and lights with view over the bay and the sea, while feeling the warm white sand under your feet, is wonderful holiday feeling pure. The menue has a delicious, well selected variety of food and surprisingly we had the best cocktails there within our total stay in all Thailand ! Congratulations to the Hotel and thanks for having turned our vacation into a dream holiday.

Hotel was great. Friendly staff, and overall a wonderful stay. My only criticism is not of the hotel, but of the compulsory gala dinner that all hotels seem to expect you to pay. 4000 baht per person (about 60 pounds per head, not including wine) is very expensive, and I don't like being told what I have to do on Xmas or New Year's Eve.

I stayed in the superior room for a couple of nights in Jan 2007. Room was very small. Service was below average. Breakfast and restaurant didn't impress me either. The best thing about this hotel was its location. This hotel is overpriced and not recommended.
