Booked the 2 bed bungalow and could not have been more pleased with the island. Room was spacious, with 2 large bedrooms and large living room. Set in beautiful tropical gardens just steps from the beach. The island is on a shallow naturally protected area of the beach. This was ideal for our 6 year old girl as the currents further up chewing beach can be strong, Also had pool and children's pool. Could not fault the resort which is great value for a resort on Chaweng beach as they have all become overpriced. Will definitely return

Excellent location with really nice and peaceful athmospohere in walking distance from night life. Superior room is more budget ( not the price only ) with rosty fridge, moldy bathroom but the deluxe bungalows are great - worth to upgrade as we did. The hotel staff is helpful & kind but the reception. Needless to say what first impression means, she disappointed us very much at the arrival and the check out as well. She treated us like at a military camp.

房间图片严重与实际不符。原本订的房间基本无采光，房间细且旧。后来无办法补左1800铢（3日）换左间独立木屋房先好D。酒店树木比较多，显得比较暗。房间内设施亦比较旧，无想象中好。早餐一般，show出嚟嘅种类比较少，要直接order厨房做。2000铢/天嘅性价比实在好一般，相比我响拉迈1600铢/天嘅酒店实在差得远。唯有以近海滩、旺地为理由安慰自己。酒店服务员几好，不过夜班嘅前台就非常唔专业，态度差且一日到黑都玩手机，白天嘅就好热心。

酒店都是一幢幢的BUNGLOW，掩映在绿树中，去的时候，住客也不多，很幽静。地处查文海滩闹市的边缘，闹中取静，我很喜欢。酒店出门向左是比较热闹的地方，AL S ,ARK等酒店酒吧集中地，走约十分钟。酒店出门向右不远有一个比较小的当地市场，有水果卖，也有一些海鲜排档，吃了最大的那家，味道非常棒。酒店的早餐比较简单，沙滩椅也有些陈旧了，游泳池水比较深，只能套个救生圈下去，不适合我这种初级游泳者。酒店前的海很浅，走很远才到大腿，比较适合玩水。查文海滩很棒，水清沙白，晚上还有沙滩边的酒店会放焰火，还有游客买来放孔明灯，走到ARK附近找个躺在沙滩上吃饭的地方，喝酒吃海鲜大餐，看焰火和孔明灯，很惬意。

We have been in Thailand eleven years, and we have never stayed at such a bad resort! The Bungalows were old and sunky. We found also track after Mices, and the bathroom smelled real bad! The beach was not for swimming, and you had to go 2-300 meter for a swim. The staff couldn´t english either. My advice: Don´t book this resort!

Friendly staff and good rooms that were adequate although the bathrooms were a bit lacking. We only booked 2 nights as this was a stopover. A bit spoilt by some drunken Irish guests who returned to their rooms at 0400 ad spent the next 3 hours arguing. Can't blame that on the hotel but in Chaweng Beach at Samui that's what you can expect I guess. The massage ladies were lovely and are very recommended.

I am sorry to say, that our stay in the island resort & spa was not as advertised on the siameservices webpage! the seaview villa was located directly at the pool, which was used by all guests of the resort. the bar was directly behind the pool playing loud music. in the evening the beach is full of people, some having fun starting fireworks. - so much for the private, quiet, natural sourroundings. the beach was awful. at daytime it was ebb tide, so the water was ankledeep and full of algae for about 200m. then came an off the coast rock cliff. After a barefoot climb over that, one could swim in the sea. So no swimming except in the resorts pool. the restaurant was of bad quality! the fruit juices were made of concentrate and the pineapple juice tasted like from a can. the staff was slow and inattentive. the food didn't taste good. the fried eggs from the breakfast buffet were cold. we had a thai massage in the spa. the masseuses were chatting an giggeling all the time, so that we couldn't relax and enjoy. the parasols were kaput and the cushions for the sunchairs were visibly old and worn out. in front of our seaview villa lay rubbish. the toilet was inside the shower cabin, so the toilet paper was wet all the time! all in all it was much too expensive for the services and facilities provided.

When we arrived our room was still dirty from the guest before us. We tell the reception and the promise to clean th room. After the clening the room was still the same, not clean. We talked to the reception again and the emediately give us a new room. The room we had was the sea view villas located around the pool area. Our opinion, after 14 days, is that this is the only room you shall book. Light, white painted room perhapes a little too small TV but on the other hand it is holiday. The beach just outside the Hotel was not so good just 1 m deep or less does not matter how long you walk. Ju have to walk around 200 m along the beach to get deeper water. The brekfast was standard for hotel in this class. For Thai people was the same food every day fried rice and fried noddles no change at all. The reception was helpful when we rent a car. The whole Chawaeng beach was dirty, we don't understand why not the hotel took their responsibility and clean there part of the beach.

The most important thing: BEDBUGS!!! At the restaurant/pool bar the service was really poor (not understanding English(?), lazy waiters, offering wrong meals, asking too much money, keeping the change, offering hot wine). At the reception the service was good, especially one nice woman taking care of everything. Location good. But again, the most important thing, BEDBUGS. Never this hotel again!

En riktig besvikelse! Tråkigt, slitet, rostigt, trasigt ja allt man inte vill att det ska vara! Klagade i receptionen och undrade varför de lägger ut så finfina bilder på internet när ingenting stämmer med verkligheten. Jag fick svaret att det är klart man visar sina bästa bilder??Förmodligen är det så att det finns ett antal (fyra tror jag) renoverade rum och det är enbart de bilderna de visar upp. Om vi ville byta upp oss kostade det 400 SEK per natt. Då skulle det gå att spola på toaletten också.. för det gick inte hos oss. Det var också problem med solsängarna, de räckte inte till en bråkdel av hotellets gäster. Första dagen fick vi gå till ett annat hotell och sen gjorde vi som förr i tiden - gick upp kl sex på morgonen och la ut vår handduk, tro det eller ej men det var den policyn som gällde. Här ska jag aldrig mer bo. Frukosten var mycket bra och personalen trevlig.

has two very expensive hotels on either side and direct access to the beach and the main road. Chalets are not at all Thai style, the description 1960's holiday camp applies. included breakfasts were by FAR the best we had. a great pool but nowhere near enough pool or beach loungers.

Photos of this hotel resort are decieving. It is in fact quite old and run down. Our door had a big gap on the bottom which allowed insects to crawl in and out. The air conditioner made a loud noise and horrible smell. The shower was mouldy, and water leaked into the whole bathroom each time we showered. There was a bug in our bed sheet, luckily it was not too big. There was a safe in the room, but it did not have a key. When we asked the reception for a key, she said we needed to pay 2000baht as a deposit. I would have thought this was a standard. heard a couple of other visitors complaining of the hotel and service. The pool was decent, breakfast was ok. The best thing about this hotel was the location. It is on the main beach of samui, however there are plenty of nicer places to stay in this area.

My family and I had booked a Deluxe room for 4 nights. On the 2nd day, we discovered BED BUGS and their eggs on the bed (at room no. 506)...no wonder there were blood stains on the bedsheet...we must have crushed some w/o knowing. So we requested for change of room, and the hotel staff managed to upgrade us to a bungalow. Bungalow was ok. On the last day when we checked out, the hotel staff was very rude to us. We requested for transport to fisherman village before transferring us to airport. Apparently, there were some misunderstanding during the conversation (which I don't blame them at all as I m quite used to communication breakdown in Thailand). What I m unhappy about is, I was all along polite, trying to explain to the staff what I want. But the hotel staff lost patience, even raised her voice at me and insisted that she understood what I mean (when she actually didn t). To me, that is very poor customer service. I definitely will NOT return to The Island Resort again.

Location is good, 500 meters from all action at Ark Bar and Green Mango in Chewang Beach, Pool area and other facilites are all nice, but rooms just werent good enough for the price. Would rather just stay at Ark Bar. Hotel area is located in the quieter northern part of the beach, Good for couples

Very good breakfast. Lovely swimming pool and garden. Friendly staff. Nice spa. Now about bad side... - Bungaloes doesn't match their description - ex: floor was not teak but ceramic tiles and roofs were not thatched. Not a problem for me, but I don't like falsehood advertising. - All hotel textiles (curtains, bed linen, towels) are completely worn out (don't mean too old for a hotel , mean good only for shoes polish ). - Beds are uncomfortable: mattresses are old and springs can be felt. - Air conditioning is damn noisy. - Safety boxes in room are disabled (though boxes are still in rooms %)) and only paid safety boxes at reception can be used. - Hair dryer should be borrowed at reception (was really surprising for me) and distance between mirror and nearest socket was not less than 4 meters. Only for people with good vision :) - Chaweng Road STINKS. I mean it. Sewer system. You should stay at beach. But better decision will be to choose another part of island. RESUME: The Island knew better times. Now leave it alone until managers think again and stop regime of economy.

Läget mycket bra om man är ute efter närhet till centrum, bara att gå ut från resorten så är du ute bland rastauranger och affärer. Däremot var stranden en besvikelse, endast knädjupt vatten pga. att det en bit ut är ett rev som hindrar frächt vatten att komma in, revet sträcker sig en bra bit längs norra delen av chaveng beach. Vi hade ett deluxrum som var skapligt stort men luktade avlopp till och från, samt att det låg längs kanten av resorten och hade utsikt mot baksidan av bungalovsen som hade mycket bättre läge mot en jättefin trädgård. Polen var ok och restaurangen hade fint läge mot havet, frukosten var ok. Personalen, främst i restaurangen var mycket hjälpsamma och glada. Vi återvänder nog inte till denna resort pga. den dåliga stranden.

The Island Hotel is a little hotel in a very nice and peaceful piece of beach on Chaweng Beach, perfect for families with children. small pool, smaller child pool. but nice sandy beach with lots of sellers coming by daytime, not noisy at all on night time, Bungallow deluxe was confortable and clean. Compared with other hotels and resorts I have been in Chawend and Chaweng Noi is a budget and value for the price,breakfast buffet is always the same so after a week you'll end up bored of it.If you just use your room for sleeping and relaxing a bit but are mostly out or in the beach this is a good choise for you. Personal is friendly and nice exept for one receptionist with a hairy mole in her face that is always bitter.They have fairly good internet speed. and a step out most of the stores 7/11's drugstores and restaurants!

Reasonable. Very good location and clean but it's looking worn down (not like the pics on the website). Really old fashioned aircon that makes a racket. I stayed in the deluxe bungalows for which I paid around 2500 baht a night and I m sure I can find a better deal in another hotel. Breakfast was so-so but the setting for breakfast was great. Summary: great location and OK if you don't have to many expectations for the room.

This resort was a BIG disappointment, we were so relieved that we only booked for the first two nights and could move elsewhere. I honestly thought they d charged us for a more expensive room, very old and crusty, bathroom full of mould and just yuk! for a so called deluxe bungalow. We moved to Montien House about 6 resorts down closer to the centre and for less money had a great room and fantastic stay for 9 nights more. Resorts charge 250Bht per person for breakfast but you re better off paying room only. Relax Bungalow & Restaurant has an awesome breakfast (choose 5 items from the menu) for just 118Bht per person and you re on the beach just a short walk north from The Island resort. Do not recommend the Island, much better for same or less $'s just a few doors down. I d go Montien House next time I go back, far better for sure.!

Good value for money. Bungalows OK – but not superb. A wonderful tropical garden. Location super (at the beach front). But as always too few sun beds. Anyhow I always prefer to sit outside the bungalow, so no problem for me. Breakfast could be worse, but also better. Bacon, ham etc was always cold. The restaurant located at the beach every night is disappointing. Walk 50 meters to the left for “relax” restaurant. Much, much better. Nice and very friendly room cleaning staff. Staff in the reception is very helpful. Safety box on room included – but the old standard model with key instead of code. Conclusion: Good value for money when we talk Chewing beach.

Nice location and the staff where nice but maybe a little bad in english. When we checked in they tryed to downgrade us from 3 deluxe bungalows to 1 family room and 1 bungalow for the same price. Not by asking but by saying that there is no room. We did not agree and suddenly there where rooms available. Shame on you! The bungalows smells and are old but in the whole a nice resort. The pool by the beach is nice.

this is the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel, and this time the staff were terrible, they could not understand english and they did not have a clue how to work a bar?? they were not interested in you at all, everything you asked for was a problem for them, Customer service does not exsist in this hotel any more. breakfast was cold every morning no matter what time you went for it. The only people that were friendly were the cleaning maides and the recepionist.

A really great location with a nice sandy swimming beach right by the pool. The breakfasts were very good value. However a good degree of petty theft went on in some of the bungalows presumably by housekeeping. Be aware. Complaints were made to reception and security but without any result

This is really a chicks hotel. It has a lovely garden that is romantically illuminated at night, right on the beach with a small pool, bar and restaurant. Room service puts little fresh flowers on your bed after they make your room. I m not a chick, and wasn't greatly impressed. I stayed in a superior room. The air conditioner was old a rattly. The hot water heater didn't work very well, and it was hard to get the shower the right temperature; sometimes it would make a terrible sound. The room was quite small and old, cheaply refurbished. You can get at least as good a room nearby at about half the cost, perhaps without the beach/ pool. If you want the atmosphere, plan to spend time hanging out at the hotel and don't mind the price, then this accommodation is okay. If you just want a decent room, you'll find cheaper nearby.

The hotel was very comfortable with excellent facicities. The staff were very helpful when we asked for anything we needed. Breakfastwas in the restaurant by the beach with excellent food and what a view! Prices were very reasonable and our room was only 30 metres from the beach. Overall I would recommend this resort.

Nice bungalow hotel, however the site is large,from the high numbered rooms it is a long way to the beach. Reverse is true, low numbers to the road. Internal transport is needed. They refused to let me use a motorcycle on the internal pathways.
