No elevator and a lot of stairs. Not very good with small children. A four star hotel should al least have a elevator. No good parking for cars or motorbikes to think twice before you rent. Everything felt old and worn out and the staff was not so nice and friendly like you normally see in Thailand

This hotel is great. I ve wanted to stay here for years but always stayed at cheaper places. This was worth the money both in service & quality. If you ask for something, they come within a few minutes. My only regret is that the villas were all booked. We stayed 4 nights which is 1 more than planned because our other hotel double booked a night. We moved to a private pool villa that was more expensive for 3 nights & we regretted leaving the Dara. It was so much classier & professional. Very clean & the little amenities make it special. Breakfast has a buffet & you can order hot items off the menu. It would take weeks to try all the selections they offer. The pool bar staff is great & attentive. The breakfast staff recognizes you after the first day & remembers your room number. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel. I would stay here again.

This is the second year we came back to Dara Samui. Although there was a mix up with our booking, which was corrected by SiameServices. Compared to last year I was a litte disappointed, there were too many noisy guests in the hotel who kept me from sleeping. Also my whole family got a foodpoisening from the restaurant of a chicken curry. We spend 1 day in bed being very sick. But we love Dara Samui and still will go back, because the hotel is on one of the best locations on the beach. In January the tide is still very high and the beach is only available after 2 p.m. before that time you have wet feet!!!

Although this hotel is not the very newest one, it is definitely in good shape overall and the rooms are nice, clean and the design well done. When walking up and down the beach it can be said that this hotel has by far one of the best looks and the loungers are in best shape and what you see is another proove that you have done the right decision for this hotel. The only negative point was coming from a security man who tried to prevent my wife from entering the hotel only because she is Thai and this was accompanied by a very rude and impolite Thai speaking. In the very last moment I could hinder the man to even hold grip to my wife and after intervention from reception personal the situation could be cleared. In the following days the man could not stop to make joking greetings to us whenever he has seen us. Hotel personal could see no reason to stop this man from doing so. This gives the very odd feeling that Thai-Western couples are not welcome in this place - by the way we are married nearly 10 years now and did not even think about the possibility of this could happen in a luxury resort.

Very nice hotel in traditional Thai-style. The rooms are clean, in a good condition and furnished tastefully. A little minus is that the also tastefully arranged hotel area is very small which also results in a small beach area and therefore noise from the neighbourhood sometimes disturb relaxing, unfortunately also from the hotel itself (loud music). Apart from that the beach area is also clean, sun umbrellas and sunloungers are available at any time and service is also friendly and courteous. The service in general is great and in a personal way. All staff members try to give their best although we get the feeling that there isn't a professional organization and knowledge behind - but we didn't miss anything. All in all we can highly recommend this hotel for adults and couples as it is one of the exalted ones at Chaweng Beach. It is also located between the brisky beach on the right and the romantic beach on the left of the hotel.

Overall a good family resort with very friendly staff going out of their way to please. The swimming pool is great with an interesting design, the deluxe rooms are comfortable and boast a huge king size bed and a spacious bathroom with a bath tube large enough to accommodate both you and the boss (wife) altogether. The street side restaurant is also very ineteresting with live music every night both western and thai and good seafood. The downsides are staircases if your room happens to be on the upper floors, Its a bit too close to the souther tip of Chaweng road making it a long walk if you wanna explore north. neverthless still in the middel of the action. Definitely a thumbs up. Recommended.

We stayed in a deluxe suite here, initially the room we were in the internet wouldnt work, air con in the lounge room wouldnt kick in, and the toilet didnt flush, but that aside the next day when we let them know they moved us up a floor to a new room where everything was excellent, even had a see view. beds are pretty hard [so get lots of massages!], service and friendliness of the staff is amazing. breakfast was great as well. its a beautiful small hotel and will be coming back. special mention to the girls at the spa [i need another massage now after returning home] and to Vorn who works in the restaurant [he is so nice]. all of the staff that work there [including the maintenance and gardening guys] are just so friendly and nice. good work.

The Hotel and rooms are clean and presentable, and staff are pleasant but the beds are terrible, Initially given a first floor room, and was bitten by bedbugs and mosquitoes-asked to change room to the top floor away from the greenery and mosquitoes, which was accommodated by helpful staff who were very apologetic and even left a mosquito coil burning in the room when we returned later in the day. Whilst we were no longer bitten, the mattress was quite bad if you need support for a bad back. Otherwise the hotel is very pleasant and food in the restaurant is acceptable with no complaints the breakfast goes onto 2pm which is great if you have had a late night, a nice touch!

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic 5 nights at the Dara Samui Beach Resort & Spa. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite and were treated like royalty. Breakfast was also fantastic! Pool is beautiful and it is right on the beach in a perfect location for shopping and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Marvelous hotel with very friendly service. Breakfast was on an la cart basis which we found to be terrific compared to the normal buffet style in other hotels. The hotel is built on a very narrow property but has made the best out of it. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed it. Hotel was not booked out. Enough long chairs at the beach. Could get tight when fully booked. Very narrow beach. The entire view and apperance from the beach side is one of the best on Chaweng Beach. Only little issue was a bad odor in the bathroom on the 2nd and 3rd day. Staff could not fix the issue but had offered a different room. Manager took time to explain reason and what could be done. We had two rooms and it only showed in one room so do not worry. We had dinner one night in the hotel and were very satisfied. All in all I can recommend the hotel for a few nights if you do not want very spacious grounds. No swimming possible during low tide as there is a stony reef 100 m out in the ocean. 5 minutes further south swimming is possible and good however very busy with boats and jet skis etc.

We stayed when there is low season and there where not so many guest at the time. Location is ideal for shopping. The water is wery low in front of the hotel. If You would go for a swim in the sea, then you should walk about 10 min. to each side. Pool is ok The staff is very friendly and helpful, but could improve their english to avoid misunderstandings. Breakfast is overall, but we prefer breakfast buffet. The room was spacious and every thing was in order. There was some noise from a nearby hotel. Overall good value for money.

I would not recommend the hotel to anybody as the services and infrastructure are very poor and do never correspond with the price charged. We stayed at a deluxe suite which was dark without any views and badly maintained. Also the pool was more like a children pool.

Amazing and marvelous resort directly on beach in Chaweng. Location is amazing, 10 minute from airport and in Chaweng centre close to all stores and restaurant. Gorgeous room, modern and well decorated. The service was incredible with little extra attentions. The seafood restaurant was delicious. Great breakfast at poolside with again excellent service. Perfect size pool with view of beach. Great for honeymooners and families. Would stay there again, this hotel made our short stay in Samui memorable.

Stayed at the Deluxe suite between 3 of us for 2 nights, then superior room on 3rd night and had a great stay. Positives: +hotel is new with all amenities we could need +room is very spacious +staff is helpful +beach area in front of hotel is clean (vs some others along the beach) +breakfast included is available until 2pm, served a la carte +Great location, 5 min walk from main bars on chewang road Negatives: -Shower (throughout the hotel) is not consistant in terms of pressure, hot and cold water -on one of the breakfast sets (dara samui) there were several dead ants on the lobster which was served which was worrying. They replaced it, but I would have expected more. All in all a great stay, though may look at alternatives next time round as may be worn down by then

I stayed at the hotel for 5D/4N at the superior room. The hotel and spa service was excellent. The room is clean and tidy. However, as it located at central Chaweng, the beach corresponding to the hotel is relatively small when compared with the Library or other hotels at the northern Chaweng. Its kind of crowded when one relaxing at the beach front. Breakfast is not buffet style, and the food is just average. Overall, the stay was a nice and pleasant one.

We stayed there for 9 nighjts and found the place very nice. The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. The rooms are nicely designed, however, the bathrooms are very open and one of our party was staying with his mom so this may not have been comfortable for him. The one negative was the morning competition to claim beach chairs before spots ran out.

Enjoyed excellent stay at Dara Samui, stayed in a superior room no real view from the deck but the room was lovely. Extra large bathroom, nicely furnished bedroom. Staff were very friendly and obliging. The breakfast was amazing many choices with very attentive wait staff Central Location close to everything Chaweng has to offer in shopping and restaurants. Beach was very clean and excellent for swimming. Couple of suggestions though, compendiums in the room and long mirror for dressing.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Dara Samaui on two occassions the first 5 days I stayed in a delux room this was an excellent standard and you could not fault the room however I also returned to the Dara Samaui after the full moon party and stayed in a delux suite , now this was excellent the room overlooked the sea and the facilities in the room were brilliant especially the bathroom! I would fully reccomend staying at the Dara Samaui and if possible go for the delux suite. The pool area is lovely overlooking the sea and the pool bar area is great where you have breakfast which is really good the staff there are great very good service, you can also get breakfast served up until 14.00 hrs which is just the kind of thing you need after a night out in chaweng. Overall I would definatley reccomend staying at the Dara samaui and hope to go back one day.
