I love this resort. If I return to Koh Samed I'll only stay here. We were upgraded to a gorgeous villa which was amazing. Being a single mum with two kids I never could have afforded this. We really appreciated it. Friendly staff, great food, nice beach. Thank you Saikaew Beach Resort.

The staff were amazing especially Sally, who buy standards worked far too long hours almost in humane. We loved the room which we had to upgrade to and pay extra, and to call the bungalows deluxe was a joke we had to move back to the room I originally booked which I thought was the premier room was terrible and very low end of the market. We got bitten terrible and left a day early.and lost the last day as the hotel does not refund so anyone booking beware!

No good value for money. Bad service during breakfast. Got foodpoisoning from the saledbar. The omelet tast like petrol. During happy hour we didn't get what we were supposed to. Told the waiter and he did not believe us. When the rain came, the frogs did too. Couldn't sleep from 10 pm to 10 am. We will never come back to this resort again. Better resorts elsewhere at this beach. Where were all the smiles??

Overall a great experience. A little bit expensive but probably worth it. Very efficient experience for check in (not used to this in Thailand). Check in at the pier and they take your bags and pretty much walk you through to the boat and onto a taxi the other side. I had heard some bad press about their bungalows. I did see some old ones but it seemed that we were put into some newer ones that had just been renovated. Not bad. The entire resort is very well kept and the restaurant area on the main beach seems very new. I was told the food and the service in the hotel restaurant was not so great but I actually found both to be excellent. Overall my stay was excellent and I would stay here again.

Super pasta and great salad dishes. Best location for dinning and party. and even for family. Thanks to all staff. We really had a great time. We will return there again for my next trip.

We like the resort, been there 5 years ago, but the De Lux rooms and also some of the bungalowas are no longer good value. Too expensive for what they offer. Premium rooms are very nice. Bungalows near the small beach have a very good location.

When we arrived to Saikaew Beach resort they had no room available! We were transfered to another hotel on the other side of Koh Samet, which was not what we had expected. We were very poor received by the hotel personnel and when we started to ask questions about the transfer to another hotel they just said Take the deal or take your money back . Do not book this hotel!

In our opinion this is the best hotel on the island and we have stayed in a few. However the is a huge difference between the old bungalows and the new side of the hotel. We stayed in the new premier sea view, huge rooms with mood lighting etc, limited sea view because of the trees but really 5 star. Very attentive staff who really seem to enjoy their jobs. The transfers, included in the price, were so professional never had to touch our suitcases. It was a little expensive and would propbabley book the rooms by the pool next time as they are almost as big and represent better value for money, however if you want to spoil yourself for a few days go for the premier. Great location on a powder white beach, easy walking distance to resturants and bars and the famous fire show if you want it. Wish we were back there now....

I was quite surprised to see that a wonderful place like Koh Samet exist so close to Bangkok. White pristine beach and not crowded. The resort is nicely done and is probably the biggest and best on the Sai Kaew Beach. I and my family enjoyed our stay there. Rooms are fine and clean, service very good, pools are clean and good breakfast. Mosquito are all around but they promptly provided spray in the room, but need to ensure doors stays closed all time. I will recommend putting clear detail of the complementary ferry pick-up point and details. I had to call to the Hotel to get details but it was quite smooth. They even quickly arranged transport from the Bus Stand to Pier. Rooms are quite expensive compared to options close by. When I am coming back I am staying in same resort.

The hotel is very nice, great beach, great location, great restaurant and bar. But you must upgrade to poolside or seaside villa. We booked a deluxe cottage and it was old, dark, mildewy with a horrible bathroom. They showed us the poolside room which was modern and new and said we could upgrade for 1000 THB a night.

We were upgraded to de-luxe bungalows. These are in need of up grading. None of the window blinds worked properly. The shower was always cold, and the water came out at a trickle. there were only 2 plugs. One on a wall where no lead could reach and not close to a shelf to put anything on. To use the kettle you had to use the plug that was round at the dressing table. 2 days I had to ask for the tea & coffee packs. On the day of arrival we went for dinner to the main restaurant. It was 7.00pm. Everything we chose on the menu they didn't have. I ended up with my 4th choice. My son arrive the following lunchtime. On the beach menu they only have either club sandwich, cheese burger, noodles or fish and chips. That day, they were out of cheeseburgers. The breakfast is very good with a wide selection of food. My only complaint was that the ham and cheese and salads were not covered and, were always covered in flies. The bowl of peppers had ants in. Everything else was covered and very nice. Despite these problems, the staff were very helpfull and obliging, the beach is wonderful and we had a lovely holiday.

We were looking for a location close to Bangkok to avoid having to fly to our destination as we were travelling with 3 children. Were very pleased to find Koh Samet only 2.5 hour drive from airport to Rayong and then 30 minutes on boat. We booked our transport through SiameServices and the drivers were to be commended on their responsible and safe driving. There is a nice air-conditioned transit lounge at the pier where our luggage was taken care of while we went for lunch whilst waiting for the boat. Can recommend lunch at Mac Garden Resort & Restaurant (Walk to left when you have transit lounge behind you and it is on the other side of the road about 300 meters from lounge). The Saikaew Beach Resort was very tastefully designed with a range of accommodation from traditional beach bungalows, to hotel rooms and the Premier Rooms we stayed in. These rooms were huge and really nicely designed and located right by the pool. We booked am extra bed and our youngest children shared our bed. There was also a sofa which could be made up as a bed in the room. Very friendly service from all staff at the resort and a nice range of activities to choose from on the beach( Massage, kayaking, paragliding, jet-ski). Nice safe swimming at the beach. Great to walk along the beach at night and have a drink or eat out at the restaurants right on the sand and catch the fire shows at 9pm. Only down side was the hair raising drive from the boat to the hotel. The kids thought it was great to sit in the back of an open pickup but as a parent I didn't feel safe with the speed these guys were driving at along a pretty rough road. Lovely place to chill out and get away from it all.

Koh Samet is a very silent beach, not crowdy as the others, sands are white and water is super clear. We like it very much, will come back next time. But the hotel is not so much recommended, public area is OK, but not the room. Facilities are old, very much dirty water, very dark in room, and many mosquitoes round about. Probably will not come back.

Had a deluxe cottage for a lot of money compared with luxe hotels in Bangkok and Chaing Mai but the cottage was below expectations. Dirty and not luxe at all, needs to be renovated. Had to pay a lot of money to get an upgrade to a hotelroom. Hotel is too expensive for what you get so don't spent your money, go somewhere else! Hotel was too expensive, payed too much! heard others only had to pay for 3 nights staying 4 nights and i had to pay 4 nights. Also the cottage looked much better on the picture than it is in real life. Did not want to stay in the cottage, had to pay 1000 baht extra to get a normal room. Booking was below expectations.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Saikaew Beach Resort. We stayed in one of the Deluxe Cottages, which was exactly as the photos online presented it. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the cottage was clean and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was very good, with both western style food and Thai food. There was even an omelet station where they made your omelet to order. We would definitely stay here again.

This area is so wonderfull with a modern style and pool that includes a childrens section and a poolbar. This is a perfect resort if you have children.

Had read negative reviews after we had booked our accommodation, we contacted the hotel regarding this. They assured us of their best attention upon arrival ahd this is what we got. Having transport from the port on the main land to your hotel makes transfers nice and smooth. The approach and entrance to the resort is not ideal, I assume that this is work in progress or there are issues with developing it further but once inside everything is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful, English for some is basic however this is Thailand and not Europe and so I am not sure why other guests were annoyed about this, we did not find it a problem? There is always staff near by who do speak better English if you need them. Rooms are fine and the 2 pool areas are good. This is the only hotel on this busy beach that clears the rubbish that is left on the beach or brought to the shore by the sea. It is also located at the top end of the beach so you are still near the nightlife but have a quieter and cleaner part of the beach to stay. Food in the restaurant was very good and tasty. Breakfast can be busy so go early or later at 9:30ish. There are other good places to eat on the beach e.g. bbq's etc. We enjoyed our stay, Koh Samet is not an idilic island but some of the bays are lovely and it is still good to visit - very much a beach and realxation holiday.

Sai Kaew Beach Resort Hotel is a perfect hotel for us (2 kids age 7 & 8 years old). There was some a/c problems and mosquitoes as it could happen to all Farang but not Thais. We stayed at Deluxe Cottage which was refurbished. Hopfully next visit we will stay in the new part of the hotel with look cozy.

I could say I didn't get what I paid for. First night our room aircondition was not working so I called front desk to request do something about it. However, the front desk person only said their technicien go for the day and start work 8 am next day and nobody shows up till net morning. I and my two childrend couldn't sleep all night and in the morning someone just came and try to start aircondition but it didin't work. Then they offered us other room which is very next room. We have to move all the things by ourself because only one young lady with suit on came up and do nothing. We stayed 2 nights but never see the cleaning people. The floor is so dirty I couldn't work around without shoes on. My opinion I think they just take advantage of nice location so they assumed people will not have choice. If I can find another hotel, I won't never go back there especially with my children. Worst hotel I ever stayed in my life. I won't recommand this hotel never. It's not worth it.

Saikew Beach Resort is in the perfect location on beautiful, chilled Ko Samet- fab beach infront with nice sunbeds, and 3 mins walk along the beach at night and you reach some lovely chilled beach bars and resturants. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a superior room, and Im so glad we did because they were lovely with a nice pool and infinity pool nearby. I d recommend spending the extra for one of these rooms if you can. The hotel is still being finished off, but its great already. Friendly staff, good food (although avoid the fishermans pie because I got seafood poisoning!), fab massages, and great location. Definately hire a quad bike/motorbike and tour the island because its beautiful and lots more beaches (with cleaner sea). I d definately stay at Saikew Beach resort again, and hope to one day!

The stay was very pleasant once again. The new pool area was an unexpected bonus and you must be complimented on the quality and design of the area. However there are a few points that shall we say troubled our party: 1) We found the cost of the poolside bar rather expensive even taking into account the free sun loungers 2)Despite a notice to the contrary there always seemed to be a lot of unaccompanied children in the pool who seemed to take delight in being annoying in their behaviour 3) We were surprsied this yeat that NO discount had been offered considering the high level of contruction work which was going on around us. This was even more surprising considering that last year we received a discount of 50% and heard nothing from the workers. We only stayed one night here at the last minute as we were unable to extend out time at Ao Prao on the other side of the Island. Very glad we were only here for one night! Our room was great,but first room we were shown in the older part was very basic and not good. pool was good but lots of building work going on next to it. Restaurant for breakfast along way from rooms and not particularly pleasant.

Stayed at the deluxe premier complex overlooking the swimming pool. Stylishly designed ...but the furniture in the balcony were all loaded with dust. We had also booked 2 deluxe cabins that cost a good 1500 THB lower for another family accompanying us. We were given an upgrade to deluxe premier. We later realized that Deluxe cabins were the sea facing ones! So not sure the upgrade was really an upgrade...or we were downgraded in deference to some other guest. Worse, we had specifically asked for double bed arrangement and they had laid out two large sized single bed separated by a table.A complete mood spoiler. The bathroom was good . So was the swimming pool. The breakfast was not worth the money . Yes ants were still crawling inside the jars filled with corn flakes. The dishes were mostly tasteless. So relied on bread and eggs. The beach was fabulous ...the credit for which should go to the place rather than the resort. If you are too picky about material comforts and hygiene... and prefer lounging indoors..the deluxe premier rooms of this resort are for you. Else...we can find a better place. I am certainly going back to Haad Sai Kaew one more time before end of the year.

The bungalows were fairly basic but with thai charm. Very clean and staff were both efficient and friendly. Any requests were dealt with immediately and staff could not have been more helpful.There were buggies available at all times to take guests to the restaurant from their bungalows. The swimming pool was very close to the bungalows and was kept very clean. The restaurant only served thai food...no western food at all but there were always BBQs further up the beach.The air conditioned cafe on site was lovely and served coffees and cakes etc but was fairly pricey. The internet was very expensive 300 bahts an hour and was much cheaper outside the resort.I would recommend using a speedboat to get to and from the island rather than the ferry boat which was difficult to board.The beach was beautiful, white sand and clear water. We enjoyed our stay in June 2009.

This is our second time at Sai Kaew Beach Resort and no doubt that we will stay again in this resort for our next visits to Koh Samed. We stayed at a deluxe room/villa which has a very stylish design. The rooms are very clean, complete with amenities and staff are very efficient and helpful (they pick you up or bring you on request from/to your villa). Perfect for a pampering vacation! Breakfast selection was also great. Will try the superior deluxe rooms next time.

I stayed in Superior-Deluxe Area (The one around the pool). The room was very nice and clean. However, there were so many flies and termites. When I woke up and opened my curtain in the morning, I found tons of termites sticking to my windows and a lot of them lying on my balcony (scary). The breakfast area was full of flies. I did not take any bread because there were at least five flies flying around the bread and sticking on it. When eating, I also need to wave my hand to drive the flies away. I m not staying here for a second time.

I wanted Superior-Deluxe with Double bed. However, the option in SIAMWEBHOSTING has only Single and Twin. So, I called SIAMWEBHOSTING staff. she said if I want to book for two persons, I need to choose Twin and write down that I want Double bed in the request box. I did as she said. However, when I arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff claimed that I chose Twin on the website and SiamWebHosting request the hotel to book for Twin bed. So, I cannot get double bed because they were full!! Anyway, on the second night, the hotel staff changed my room from Twin to Double bed. Two thumb up for the hotel staff! But SiamWebHosting, you need to improve!

(1) Staffs were too busy -At check-in and check-out were hectic, stuffs were too busy to tell anything. It was the long holidays anyway, we must admit this? (2) Decoration -(#935-936) Over the bed, decorated with local Thai fishing appliances i.e. lorb, sai etc. These stuffs made from bamboo, caused dusty white powder from the insects inside. (2) F&B - There are 2 breakfast venues - The resort had no restriction and guest can eat at either of it. Thanks for this. - Service skill at the main restaurant by the sea (breakfast, lunch & dinner)was under expected. Don't get me wrong, they are nice but still need some training or more staffs. At breakfast, it is better to get your own coffee than wait for it. - If you have to eat here, I would recommend European food, not their recommended Thai dishes. (4)Kitchen or Housekeeping staffs While walking pass Kitchen or H/K staffs show more respect to guests than front line staff (green polo T-shirts). They stopped and waited until we walked pass.

This was our third trip to Thailand. We have stayed in Puket, Chang Mai and Koh Chang. In Bangkok we have stayed at the Davis which is awesome. All of our stays were booked on SiameServices.com. Saikaew Beach Resort was the most expensive of all the places we have stayed in Thailand. We did not feel it was a good value for the $. We were on the more expensive side of the resort and our room air conditioner leaked all over the floor and clothes the first night. There were termits in the wood floor, so we had to keep a towel over that spot. Most of the staff were not as friendly as in other places we have stayed. We had one dinner at the resort, and it was poor enough that we didn't eat there again. The breakfast each day was good, however! There were two beaches...the one near our cabins (we had 2...our kids and grandkids were with us) was rocky and smelled like dead fish. The other beach we had to pack up and take a fairly long walk with 2 babies every day. It was a beautiful beach with white sand. Lots of restaurants up and down the beach. We would not go back to this resort....we felt it was entirely too expensive for what you received.

Both of our rooms was clean. However, in room 202, the tape water kept running and we could not turned off the tape for the entire stays. Also, one of the bed got bed flees and I got bitten all over my body. The staff were friendly. After arrived on the island, we found out and compared the hotel rate, it's quite expensive compared to other hotel in similar category. From Sydney, Australia.

We stayed 3 nights on the Deluxe side (the more quite side) of the resort and it was really great. The Deluxe area is very peaceful and quite and yet you can walk just 5 minutes over to the other side and have access to all the restaurants on the beach. Last time I was at Samet I stayed at Jep's which was great while backpacking. 4 years later with some more cash in the pocket - it was definately worth the extra money to stay at this resort.

We like the hotel. Very well maintained. Prefect to be able to choose either a small quiet beach or the more lively Saikaew beach. The pool was small but OK since there were few people using it. We had only one problem. We had booked the Family 2 bedroom on the internet. When arriving to the hotel they told us that this was 2 seperate bungalows! Outrageous! For us, a family with two small children, this is no option! We had chosen this hotel only because they offered (or at least we thought they did) a family room so we could stay together the whole familiy! On the website there is absolutly no information that indicates that a Family 2 bedroom in fact is two separate bungalows. Anyway after some debate the hotel upgraded us and we got to stay in the Family suite which was one bungalow with two bedrooms.

We booked a bungalow right at the beach which had 2 bedrooms and a sitting area. The hotel is quite expensive so our expectation was very high. But we were soon very disappointed with their facilities and the most basic criteria, cleanliness. Our bathroom already had a huge dead coackroach checked in, no hot water in the bath tub (very dirty and slimy bath tub), ants in the room and a loud unannounced Karaoke party at night! The whole package was pre-paid so had to check out and we wrote them a letter asking for partial refund for unsanitary conditions of the bungalow and for the sleepless night but the Manger replied back saying that it was our fault for not notifying them when I was there. He did not even have the decendy to ask/aplogize or explain directly.

It is a nice resort and we enjoyed our stay very much! The private beach was beautiful and the gardens and the pool area were both nice. A couple of things to think about, though: - If you are staying in the deluxe area, be aware that for the same price to can get very different types of location of your accomodation. Separate bungalows and two room bungalows with a great location near the pool go for the same price and under the same deal as not so great rooms with views towards a brick wall. The standard inside is good in both cases, however. We were able to switch rooms when we got there, but if we go there again we'll try to be more specific about what we want. - There is a lot of construction going on, and you have to pass this area going from the deluxe area to White Sand. We didn't mind, but it might be good to know. - There is a short distance to walk from the deluxe area to White Sand - which is where all the restaurants (including the resort breakfast) are. The restaurant on the smaller beach was unfortunately not open when we were there. Likewise, if you live in the superior area there will be a short walk to reach the pool area.

Efficient, quick and useful. Perhaps you could update some of your accommodation information regarding types of rooms etc. That information is not always in unison with hotels own webpages, so we often go there first to compare and double-check.

1.We stayed in the Superior Room 221. The size of room was small. We expected bigger for the price. Clean. 2. There was a lack of the personal touch for the room and by the reception staff. Only the restaurant staff were warm and friendly.Food was good. 3. The bathroom was big but the shower area so tiny. The shower curtain had fungus on it and though I asked for it to be changed repeatedly it was not changed. The drain in the shower area was not clean and unpleasant looking. I think it needed to be tiled properly. The rest of the bathroom had a blue paint on the floor. It would feel better if the floor was tiled with stone/tile. For the price we paid I would expect better facilities. The pictures show a swanky place. There was only one towel rod in the bathroom. Nothing for swimming costumes to hang dry. 3. The room was located behind the kitchen and the view was only out of the front window. In a beach place I would expect windows on both sides and a better ventilation in the room. The landscaping around the rooms was basic. 3. From what I could tell the deluxe rooms were much better and the landscaping around it were better too. 4. The beach in front of the hotel was nice and clean. Hotel is located in the better part of this beach. (quieter too) 5. The hotel has engaged Jimmy tours for excursions around Koh Samet. We booked with them to go out but last min they canceled saying they did not have enough people to go. (min 12) But we were not told ahead of time that once they sign and give me a slip of the same, they could cancel. Disappointing.. and not professional behavior. Hope this helps ..

Nice place and good for a family leisure outing. Good food and good hygiene. Rooms were nice but the natural shower was a disappointment. When we visited in Sep 08 only one restuarant was operational but we were told that second restaurant would be operational soon Rates slighlty on the higher side but still good value for money. Add some facilities for kids like a slide in the pool , some swings etc that wud be nice. Would come again next year..

Good location on two beaches - one the main, very sandy one; the other rocky but good for snorkelling. The resort looks better in real life than it does on the website. It is a bit expensive for Thailand, but then it *is* on an island and *is* priced for foreigners - but cheap by comparison with our own countries. Friendly and helpful staff, fabulous breakfast, great restaurants within a few minutes walk along the beach. Would stay again.

Overall we had a lovely holiday but this was more to do with our independent spirit then a particular effort from the resort. The location of the resort is great, it is at the top right of the island close to most amenities (ATM etc) and so you can choose to move around the island as little or as much as you like. I was actually a little disappointed by the resort itself though. The staff were disinterested and not particularly friendly - trying to get information about the local area, transport back to Bangkok and even information on dining at one of the restaurants in any of their other restorts on the island was futile and frustrating. The resort has a complimentary boat service to and from the mainland but they might want to work on the customer service a little with respect to the taxi from the boat to the resort...you happily tumble from the boat to the waiting taxi with all the other guest but what they dont mention is that the taxi isnt complimentary so you have this awkard situation when you arrive at the hotel and you are immediately asked to hand over some cash (we couldnt even put it on the room). Its not much of course but i would suggest that the resort might want to think about absorbing that cost into the price of the room rather than this awkward moment which ruined what was 2 minutes previously a magic start to our holiday. The accomodation itself was really pleasant - we had a deluxe Bungalow - and apart from one evening when the deluxe area was mysteriously taken over by a private party involving Thai karaoke - really tranquil. Beware of the refurbishment works which are going on at the moment tho. I had found out before booking that there was some work going on at the resort while we were there so i was prepared but its a bit of a shock when you arrive because the work area is located right next to reception and anyone staying in the deluxe area walks right past it on the way to the restaurant and main beach. In terms of noise you hardly hear anything but by the looks of it it will take at least another couple of months for them to finish the work off so beware if you are booking from now until October/Nov.

I m Thai staying at Saikaew Beach resort. My deluxe room near the pool and the private beach is very private and properly&fully decorated. All functions in room are well managed. The staffs were nice and tried to help as much as they could as the rooms are fully booked at the weekend. Our group is very impressed with this resort service and will surely return again soon.

We stayed in the deluxe cottages which are quaint and lovely. The cottages themselves are set further back from the Sai Kaew beach than the standard rooms but the surrounds are quite nice: close to the resort pool, manicured lawns, palm trees. The resort was in the process of building 60 more rooms and a new pool when we went so there was construction going on but we never heard any of this from our cottage.

What a brilliant place! We stayed 4 days and didn't want to leave. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the standard room was beautiful and the beach is fantastic, powder white sand. There are some great restaurants,bars and even a club nearby too. Will be back soon!

The beach front is very nice, but the tap water pressure is very low. The transportation service fron Banpe to Semet is included. The other service is OK.

Great location, our room was right on the beach. Overall, fairly clean. The bathroom had some ants and could have been a little cleaner but that was taken care of. Room was a bit small but a good deal for the price. Beautiful beach front.
