Awesome place to stay, great location,easy access, fun bars in main street of Karon with good live bands, lots of places to eat. Would recommend Karon over Patong any time. Cleaner, nicer, quieter. Good Shopping. The Old Phuket is in a great spot. Big rooms, pool access was the best!!!!

Beautiful breakfast every morning however the beds are rock hard ,the spa if you are lucky will work but then you wont get in because its not clean....The towels need replacing very worn too. room was nice but noise from the compressor above made it difficult to sleep.Eventually got a new room which was an upgrade and was better although the spa was touch n go again. Lack of english made it a chore getting the lovely Thai people to understand.would look elsewhere and pay a bit more. ok for the days 5in total.The shuttle service was terrific and free...

Location not so great because all the action is at Patong. For families wanting a quiet holiday far from the night life though, this is the place to be. Quite a few nice restaurants, mini market, massage parlours just outside the hotel. The hotel itself is great. We booked rooms in both the old wing and the new pool access rooms. Both the rooms were good enough. The pool access rooms were quite spacious and the kids loved the pool. The bathrooms were very interesting. Service was also good, though not really outstanding. Have to say that the incharge at the front desk - Maria was very helpful.

Our trip to phuket was destroyed by old phuket hotel... because they not make any booking for us, when we arrive to the place we discover we don't have any room available, and after 12 hours of flit, with small baby- 10 month old, we should wait about 2 hours in lobby without ac for solution of our problem, worse than that, people in reception not offer any water or place with ac for us for wait... my baby cry because he was hot tired and hungry, everyone was angry... not nice way to start holly days. I not recommend this hotel because of the service- i think have many nicer places to relax in your hollydays.

The laundry spoil my new dress the day before we left - the dress is useless. The manager told me that she will discuss wath to do and send me a mail,my bee their incurance will compensate I am disappointet the Hotel have done nothing. NB The dress is washable - Otherwise the hotell was good, exept the laundry they did a very bad job with others ting too.

Staff and grounds were spectacular, convenient to everything, and well maintained. Just a few objections. The internet server for guest use was pathetic-always down and unable to connect to many sites-quite inconvenient. Second, no help in getting cab to airport... when we asked front desk to make a call to our old driver, they wanted us to pay 30tb for the call. The amount was not the issue, but rather the idea that at a 5 star hotel, they could not even arrange airport transportation. Finally, they would not give us 3 room keys for 3 people and that was sometimes a pain. Otherwise, the place was wonderful.

I enjoyed my staying in this hotel .We had a big surprice when we arrived because we did get an upgrade for free.We did get the deluxe pool acces room.That was nice and easy. But ....even i appreciated the free upgrade i was unhappy because i specialy booked a room at the Sino-wing because those rooms looked so nice and cosy while the rooms at the Sirene-wing are to modern and cold for me. We stayed here with 4 peoples and we all found that the hotel was great.Very friendly employes ,nice and clean ,just a few minutes away from the beach ,a few minutes away from a some good restaurants . And if you rent a car just a few minutes away from Kata and Patong . Only a few remarks i want to give the hotel : first abouth the bathroom .It was big and nice with a step-in shower of maybe 2m³ and a bathtubb with swimingpoolview .But to get in the bathtubb or close the curtains of the bathroom you need to climb on the area around the tubb.And i can say it did feel not safe.Specialy when wet the marble get really slippery. My second remark is about smoking in the breakfastarea.It's really tasty that somebody stinks at the other table while you just have your first bite duuuh .If they want to smoke just let them do it somewhere else ! My last point is to make the breakfast a bit more various.Because i did have the same things for breakfast already for two weeks in Bangkok. This hotel is worth it's 4 stars .Me ,my friend and partners will definatly come back here when we be back on Phuket .

I traveled with my husband & 2 teenagers. We stayed in the Serene wing & loved our rooms. Air-con worked, shower had hot water and fridge had well priced beer! Rooms were surprizingly large. Plenty of space around the bed and plenty of storage. There were even umbrellas in the room for rainy days. Pool at Serene was lovely but decking is starting to break. Not enough umbrellas around the pool but plenty of lounge chairs. Forgot to check out rooms in original hotel building. Villas/family suites looked interesting. Staff friendly enough with good English skills, except on check-out. Checking out took forever and was a painful experience. Short stroll to beach. Few restaurants just outside hotel grounds. Others a short walk away on esplanade and main street. Hotel is almost next door to market shopping (clothes, bags etc), and 2 mini-marts nearby. So nice NOT to be in noisy Patong and just be able to relax.

Stayed here during the low season with our 10-months old baby-girl. The hotel is basically two different hotels Serene and Sino sharing facilities and dining. During the first week we ve stayed at terrace room of the older Sino wing, where rooms are quite tired and lack sunlight. Moscquitos are frequent guests. For the second week we ve moved to Serene wing, which was absolutely great, very clean and stylish, 32-inch LCD screens and DVD-players, better pillows and trendy bathrooms. There was some construction going on site next to the hotel, but that didn't bother us too much as it was mostly fnished and the hotel's walls are properly soundproof. Breakfasts were excellent! Great choice of some traditional thai dishes along with omlets, sausages, ham, fruit and cereals. Dining at the hotel-recommended Chilli restaurant was the only dissapointment as all the dishes weren't good at all. A near by Ging place was far better in all aspects. Hotels guests were mostly aussies and russians, some with kids, but pretty quiet at nights ). Hotel's service always top-notch, special regards to Arun (manager) and the always-smiling guards ).

Отдыхали в отеле 5 ночей, за что получили подарок в виде одной бесплатной ночи. В целом отель не плохой. Состоит из 2 корпусов. Один вроде по старее (но показался более уютным на первый взгляд), а второй вроде как по новее. Проснулись в 5 утра от непонятного шума, как будто очень громко работает холодильник. Вроде и можно уснуть, но ведь все-таки не просто так я ехала в такую даль, чтоб неудобства испытывать. На ресепшене сказали, что это шум от стройки, которая расположилась прям за старым корпусом. И предложили абсолютно бесплатно заехать в новый корпус. Номера в новом корпусе примерно все одинаковые, но видимо за счет того что нам их предложили без доплаты, нам нашли самый зачуханный номер и попытались втулить. После того как мы отказались и попросили другой номер, нам дали отличный номер. В целом можно сказать отель не плохой, большой бассейн в новом корпусе, правда, слегка скудные завтраки и море через дорогу, как в большинстве отелей на Пукете. Ходят бесплатные автобус в централ фестиваль и патонг. Так же без проблем оставли вещи на хранение пока уезжали на несколько дней на Пи пи

This is the first time I went to phuket, and stayed to this hotel for 2 days only, honestly I was dissapointed the way they served us, they more appreciated foreign tourists rather then asian tourists (in this case they saw us as thailand,or another asian peoples). And for this hotel, as a good hotel maybe they should be trained more friendly to the costumer from everywhere. And learn to speak english better.

The place was acessible, as there are shops and the beach were in about 5 minutes walk away. We enjoyed the serenity in the hotel and friendly staffs there. Location is great. We lived in Sino Wing. Rooms are big and nice. Air conditioner a bit noisy and could not be regulated accurately. Mosquito are few (4th floor). Breakfast was average for selection, but always cold. Now some drawbacks: construction is going on behind Sino Wing, so you won't be able to take a nap in the middle of a day because of all the noise, moreover we had to move aside few hundred feet on a beach. King size bed was awful! it was on wheels so one can not lean against the wall cause the bed will roll away. But we still loved the hotel for it's location, rooms, price and staff. Will stay there next time.

The hotel is really nice. If you want modern and styled surroundings this is a great hotel. If you on the other hand want thai style go for something else. The rooms are big and clean. The staff very nice but are not that good in english. We got another room because it stinked of dead rat fra 10pm to 2 am. To get another room we had to make them give us one. They did not offer it to us. We think it was the air con. Unfortunately the other room had the same failure. Breakfast is average.

Wir haben sechs Nächte in dem Hotel verbracht und es war traumhaft. Ein großzügiges Zimmer mit einem zehn Meter langen Bad. In der Wanne hatten wir direkten Pool-Blick. Die Anlage ist sehr modern und in hellem Weiß gehalten. Der Pool in der Mitte ist sauber und die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Das Fitneßstudio genügt den Bedürfnissen. Ein Laufband mehr wäre wünschenswert. Das Frühstück ist gut mit aufmerksamen Personal und einem eigenen Koch, der die Eier zubereitet. Vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis kann ich die Anlage, die nach hinten versetzt ist, und somit nicht den Lärm der Strasse abbekommt, nur empfehlen. Wir haben für ein Doppelzimmer rund 50 Euro bezahlt.

I would recomend this hotel to other travelers and it is excellent value for money and is far cheaper than the other hotels located near it i.e. the Hilton and Moevenpick Resort. The rooms are lovely and the bathroom is OK apart from the fact that it is not tiled around the shower/bath and the plaster has gone black in places. The locations of the hotel is great, it is set back behind the beach road (as are all of the hotels in Karon) and is about 100 m to the beach. there are 2 pools both located on the roofs of each of the wings. We oly visited the pool area in our wing and it was lovely. There are a row bars and restaurants on a small archade in front of the hotel and then it is only a very pleasent 10 minute walk in either direction to many bars/shops and restaurants located at either end of Karon beach. The beach is very nice and is extremely clean; It is quite wide and the sea is deep enough to swim in and the tide doesn't go out very far. Overall I am happy with the choice I amde with regards to this hotel, and this resort (Karon Beach) as having driven through Patong on numerous occasions I can say that Karon was far nicer.

We can certainly recommend this hotel. The sino-portugese style adds to its charm. We stayed 2 nights at the Spa deluxe room located just next to the swimming pool so it can't be any more convenient when we wanted a swim. As it was during the low season we had the pool, from where you can see the Big Buddha, practically to ourselves. There are many restaurants, massage parlours & laundry services just outside the hotel. We had our laundry done for 45 bahts per kg. compared to the much higher price charged by the hotel. It was also much faster - we delivered it late in the afternoon and it was already ready by early afternoon the next day - cheap and fast. The beach is just across the road and Karon town centre only 10-15 mins. walk away. Patong town is only 15 mins. by cab or tuk-tuk. We will definitely stay there again should we decide to visit Phuket again. Maybe next time we'll try the terrance deluxe or private jacuzzi rooms.

Nice hotel, though very noisy during the day due to construction. Found multiple hairs in our food from their restaurant down the street (Chilli s). Close to the beach and lots to offer on the little street infront of it. Do not recommend the jacuzzi rooms as the hot water runs so slow it takes 1.5 hours to fill up. The pool is beautiful but only open until 1900 hrs. Staff was helpful but unable to deal with diverse problems - such as using a credit card to pay for services.

Very nice place for a very good price. A little problem though, the hot water was running veeeery slow when filling the jacuzzi, but we managed. Surroundings were great, with Swedish, Danish and traditional Thai food nearby. WiFi was CyberPoint, you pay-per-minute. High price, but transferable to other hotels with CyberPoint. Some construction work disturbed us a bit, but I guess this will be finished by Dec 1st when the phase 2 is opened. We had excellent service from the hired driver in his rental car, but don't use the airport transfer service unless you need a Camry and not a Corolla. Taxi is half the price. All in all, recommended!

The hotel was very quite, may be because of the rain season. It is a clean hotel. We have rent 2 type of rooms. 1 garden jakuzzi and deluxe room. Even the most expensive room was garden jakuzzi, we have liked the spa one more than garden. I recommend spa instead of garden. Delux room is very good with that price. There is a renovaiton in the hotel. The resteaurant was quite away from the hotel building. I am not sure, if it is temporary because of the renovation. If it is not, I recomend Hotel management to solve this problem. I think there is not enough personel in the hotel. It was not easy to find somebody to carry the luggages, when we arrived the hotel. They watched me to take luggages and they didn't move until I started to become angry. I recomend the deluxe room I stayed room 419. The sea view is wonderfull from this room.

The location of the hotel was great - right across the beach. The hotel was ok for the price. The only problem was due to the language difference. There are several trips to take to area islands. We would recommend NOT using the Phi Phi Island Cruiser company. it was the worst experience we have ever had for a tour.

We booked the family suite, it has 2 nice deluxe rooms with a simple living and dinning area outside the rooms and has a good view of the pool, beach and the hills. There is elevator and the surroundings are flat ground which is easy for my elderly parents. Quiet and peaceful surroundings, very nice staff, breakfast was ok, Thai cuisine dinner at the hotel restaurant was good, restaurant staff are nice too. The hotel is a short walk to the beach passing by restaurants, message parlors, convenience stores, tour agencies and internet cafes. We book our tours from Kanok Travel which is next to the hotel restaurant at good price and we also book the minivan for all our transportation, it is very convenient especially for my elderly parents. We like the family suite which suits us well. We had a look at the Terrace and the private jacuzzi. We find the Terrace jacuzzi very lovely and cozy and will probably booked it in my future visit with my husband. Karon beach is beautiful.

The rooms were very nice with large bath room and outdoors shower. Good safety deposit box in the room. Good breakfast and nice staff. If you travel with children you should be aware that there is very little space around the pool for playing around and also not all sun chairs have sun umbrellas which is negative. All in all we are very pleased with our stay!

We spend our time at this hotel in the beginning of low season and because of that the hotel had limited service (for example)limited breakfast and lunchtime) despite the hotel was at least occupied to 50 %. When we had our first lunch at the hotel they wanted to us to pay according to the new meny eventhough we shown an old one. The waitress did not want to change the bill until the manager told her so. Several other times the staff in the reception was unwillingly to help you with out discussion. The manager though was very nice and helpful. Overall got location (close to the beach,restaurants) but the hotel is not worth the cost of staying here (we paid lower price due to low season). Will not stay here again if we visit Karon Beach again.

Stayed in a private spa room for 3 nights and loved it, quiet location, some restaurants and shops within walking distance, Karon beach wonderful, Karon village good for shopping and nightlife. It's only a short walk to the beach, and you can rend a deckchair or sit in the sand. Room was great, modern, with an open-air shower. The staff at reception don't speak such good english but they still go out of their way to work things out. So all in all, a great place, far from the hustle and bustle, nice colonial feel to it. We would definitely go back if staying in phuket.

We found the Old Phuket comfortable, quiet, and very secure. You need ID to enter the grounds. Breakfast was good. Third floor rooms place you right next to the pool, which was lovely and not crowded. Wish the pool would stay open later. Hotel made our day boat trip reservations but we learned you can cut price in half by walking down the street to any of the agencies. NOTE: After reserving the room, call the hotel and have them arrange airport pickup. Cabs late at night will rip you off. Our ride cost 1300 baht and the hotel charges much less.

The room (Jacuzzi Twin) was wonderful. We liked the pure style very much and had a lot of fun with the Jacuzzi. The personnel was very polite and helpful and the room clean. The only thing which was a little uncomfortable was, that we had the last first room (beachside) and the fence door was so far away. Perhaps you could think of installing small fence door at several positions of the white fence. Thank you for a wonderful stay in KARON, I was really positively surprised as we are the typical backpackers and just had to stay in Phuket because of our flight to Bangkok.

Good hotel. Nice ambience. Our room was clean & comfortable. We stayed in a spa deluxe room which has a jacuzzi in the balcony. The reception staff speak decent English. The complimentary buffet breakfast was adequate. However, the hotel is quite particular about the check out time and would not accomodate us for even an extra half hour! The hotel is conveniently located. It is a few mins. walk from Karon beach. There are also numerous stalls a short walk away where you can get good bargains on clothes, bags, some handicrafts, etc.

I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. We read at their web page that they should offer new deluxe room which we paid 2700 bht/nigh for. The only thing that looked new in this room was the painting on the wall. Bedcover and sofa full of stains in two of their deluxe rooms. We had to change room the first night due to ants in our room. Please be aware of that there is construction work going on early in the morning until midnight for two new buildings. Its a BIG disappointment that they do not inform you about this before you arrive. So for persons looking for a quiet and a nice place to relax in I would recommend to look for another hotel.

a unique boutique hotel, as they call it. very friendly and helpful staff. we stayed in a jacuzzi room, all these rooms are situated in front of the main building, it's like being on your own. large rooms very tastefully equipped,in a japanese-minimalist style.2 light faults: breakfast and swimming pool area too small and very crowded. the only thing we could not stand was the rudeness of north-european guests (this area of phuket is very popular among them), but it doesn't depend on the hotel....I sincerely recommend it, real value for money.

My experience with Old Phuket Hotel was indeed unpleasant and awlful.. I have booked for a Private Jazzcuzi room, the most expensive room in the hotel and yet all I received throughout the entire stay were bad services. From the unplesant check in on the day of arrival to the day I checked out, most of the staff with an exception of one duty mananger, have only demonstrated impolite, unpleasant services. These experiences were both appalling and surprising as I have visited Phuket and stayed in at least a dozen different hotels before. Never had any problem with any of them! If bad service is what you can put up with, by all means stay in this hotel. Otherwise, my advice is to take your money to other establishments where they value providing quality customer services and extend the true thai hospility for a better value of your money.

This is a lovely hotel with nicely decorated, spacious rooms. The in-room and external environments were kept very clean and the staff was very pleasant. We also appreciated the 5 minute walk to the beach and the free towel service the hotel provided. The gym equipment (only 2 pieces) needs to be replaced as it is rusting and dysfunctional (could be dangerous as well..) NOTA BENE : you will have to pay to rent a chair and umbrella (approx 200B) for the day as the beachfront is not owned by the hotel. The breakfast was quite plentiful, although the buffet offerings did not change (except for the noodle dish). The hotel is well located in the middle of Karon beach, with close proximity to Patong and Kata beaches, giving you the flexibility to beach wherever you wish. We enjoyed our stay at the Old Phuket very much and will definitely stay there again !

We stayed here with two small kids. Hotel and service ok (not the best). There are very few that can speak English in the reception. We stayed in the Jacuzzi room. The room is OK but concrete floor is not matching. We had mosquito’s coming into the room. There is a nice outdoor shower in the backyard, a bath in the bathroom and a spacey Jacuzzi in the front yard. Breakfast buffet is good and quit pleasant to sit outside. There is a very nice swimming pool at the roof of the main building. Hotel is located only a short walk to the beach. Close to the hotel there is a street with almost everything you need.

The room is nice as in the pics.The mini fridge is well stocked (but i dun drink alcoholic drnks).The jacuzzi was great.They hv tour counter, so you can book ur tour at the hotel reception.Loads of tour brochure.It's a walking distance to the beach. They hv few shops just outside the hotel from minimarts to restarurants more tour agency, bike rentals, SPAs, Saloon. The Sauna in the hotel is not free thou(didnt use it, but they put a sign that you must pay to use it.Cant remember how much)Breakfast was so-so.They didnt really change much of the dishes.They serve bacon, ham, bread, butter, jam, eggs, pancake/toast, frien rice, fried noodles, fruits. It was an enjoyable stay.

What a pleasure!. Bargain price for low season and such attention to detail, the rooms were exceptionally clean, well maintained and very inviting. The backdrop of mountains are visible from your spacious balcony, the rooftop pool and the open aired colonial verandah. For our off peak season price I was very surprised to find a suitable adequate breakfast array, somewhat lukewarm but good healthy eating. I m sure they don't use Nescafe coffee, cause I had three cups each morning and that chemical substitute Nescafe call coffee didn't appear until our next hotel in Koh Samui.Karon from my earlier recollection of ten years prior was quiet and still is, but walk 1-2 klm towards Kata and you'll find shopping, tailors, bars on a larger scale. The beach is a sheer delight, with patrols in front of the nearby Hilton hotel. Old Phuket is not sea facing, but perpendicular and down a small street lined with quiet restaurants aimed at the Scandanavian tourists. You will search hard for tasty Thai food, but if your not a fussy Australian who is spoilt by living in an asian community here in Sydney, then you will appreciate the price and accessability to western food. Our standard rooms was of high quality and overlooking the terrace rooms across the street, they appeared as advertised on the web site. This place is not thumping with whoop whoop bars, nor is the shopping right on your doorstep, but a 1 -2 kilometre walk either direction will offer you more choices. The beach at Patong during August appeared less appealing and having started our holiday at Old Phuket for three nights, we frolicked in the waves and laid like beachwhales.

We booked a Terrace Room for 7 nights. The Terrace itself is quite small but the chairs are very compfortable to sit for a while outside. The room itself is very nice and lovely equipped and in fact, when you come in, it looks better than the pictures on their web side. The Bathroom has a big tub where is enough space for two. Another highlight is the rain shower outside. Housekeeping did every day a great job! Our booking includes Breakfast - which is ok to have a cup of coffee - but the set up will not blow you away. Prices for the Mini bar quite cheap. Room Service is only until 22.30 o clock. Front Desk / Concierge has friendly but clueless staff - What ever it is apart from the Breakfast timing - you have to find out by yourself. On the other side it was a hassle-free check out and the bill was correct. For a relaxing short break it's the right place. We would come back.

A very nice hotel and good value for money in a quiet part of phuket 15-20 min from patong or 20-30 min from phuket town . We stayed at low season which seemed perfect as far as crowds where concerned I think any place around phuket would be to crowded in the peak season to much accomodation and not enough services , it has also become the most exspensive part of thailand ..The family room we stayed in was very comfortable , clean and the staff and baby sitting was excellent just a 2-3 min walk to very nice and reasonable priced restaurants and bars as well as massage parlours and tour shops and mini mart nice place for families..We found the best food and prices where 2min taxi--tuk tuk ride ( 100bht ) 10min walk into karon town the beach is nice but has a strong surf most of the time..

A good hotel,with a lot of warm people.They are realy doing their best!And that was Good enouch 4 me.!I miss them allready.i will come back if i can in the future!

Very nice hotel! The interior is perfect and clean. Not very far from the beach but quite far from the happening place. Quiet environment. Good and friendly staff.But on the day we stayed, Phuket rained heavily and we used the hotel's umbrella but the umbrella is leaking because it is very thin.

This is the 2nd time to stay in Old Phuket Hotel through Res24.com. Old Phuket has never disappointed me. Cheap price with excellent service. Very convenience both to the beach, Patong and Kata. Excellent.

This hotel has a great potential but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. I choosed the Old Phuket because it lookes very nice in their web side and because they had a fitness center. Unfortunately none of the avalable equipment in the fitnes room was working properly. So you can just forget about training there. The hotel had no activities during day or night and was very boring. Why not make a BBQ on the roof by the lovely pool and play some music. Invite all the guests for some fun ???. The staf is very friendly but their English skills must be better if they want to serve the guests in a better way. They could also be more helpful and not tell the guests to look up everything on the internett themselves. I had a very nice room with jaccuzi and a small garden in the front and a lovely shower in the back yard. A perfect place if you want to lock yourself in without any view at all. There are walls around your garden and you can't see out at all. You better choose a room with a balcony which is cheaper as well.The cleaning of the jaccuzi was not properly done and I asked the staf to do so. It did not improove. After 9 days there were still an edge of green seaweed in the bottom of the jaccuzi. Such a nice hotel deserve to be cleaned in outside area as well. Leaves, old plants and other rubish was laying around which made a bad impression. Also in my garden there was a lot of rotten plants that could have been removed to make a nicer place. The pool on the roof is nice and pleasant with a small poolbar were you can order lunsj and drinks. The breakfast is very nice and it is lovely to sit outside and eat. In my first holiday ever in Thailand I stayed at the Old Phuket for 9 dayswith my daughter but there is a lot of places in the area that gives more value for the money.

Good amenities. Large pool but sunbeds were at a minimum had to get in early. A 7 year old boy died by electrocution whilst we were there. Be wary of having a poolside room this child came straight from the pool to plug in his playstation and got electrocuted. Staff seemed non plussed no one knew CPR. Ambulance came and stopped CPR which other hotel guests were giving. No paddles and the nurses attending seemed inexperienced. So be aware of poor medical aid and hotel staff not practised in CPR. Quite distressing for all concerned. Otherwise, breakfast good. Hotel situated at quiet end of Patong which suited us as it was high season and very busy. Good views, clean and staff were friendly after we got to know them. Cheap laundry close by. Shuttle bus service hourly to Patong beach.

Stay was great and would definately come back here. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were excellent. Location was quiet as the hotel has own part of the road. Very close to beach. Good restaurants nearby. Karon is lovely area too and would definately recommend The Old Phuket.
