I spent 2 nights in the guest house, it's location is good and very quiet. Two things concerned me though:one is we ordered lower floor rooms,but when we arrived in the midnight, be told only 3rd floor rooms were available,so we had to carried four big suitcases to the room;the reception girl who was working during the daytime was very impatient and impolite. Besides these two flaws this guesthouse is good and value for money.

The room is very good, nice and clean. My sister room is bright and able to see outside, but my is dark and next to other guesthouse. if open the curtain will be seen by other building if people walk up or down stair.

I afraid and think about cancel because Thailand airport is flood and may be can not get the plane to fly to this guesthouse.

This hotel is quite close to the centre of the action at Bangla Road,but without any noise coming from there.Walk in rate is B800,but with Sawasdee, we got B710. Hotel is new, and the staff are very helpful - one of them speaks reasonable English. Main disadvantage is the stairs which are quite steep (there is no lift), but for the price for an aircon hotel located where it is, who is whining? (and the hot water is hot also!)

This hotel was very good considering the price. However, I found some of their business practices rather deceptive. In particular, it has always been my understanding that when one books for more than 1 day, there is a minimum 1 day charge if one cancels completely. Thus, one can cancel and the reservation is, in effect, buying a right to stay there i.e. peace of mind. This hotel takes a different stance. I paid for about 10 days because I could not remember the exact number of days I would stay there and expected to be able to sort things out after I arrived. However, the hotel said I could not shorten my stay. Or more precisely, I could shorten my stay but I would not receive a refund when checking out early. I think this is an outrageous rip-off, done mainly because it was low season. Next time I will reserve for one day and then look around for another hotel after arriving. There are many cheaper ones in the area but they are obviously not paying for internet access. Also, I was not crazy about being so close to the homosexual area.

We stayed here 4 nights and cannot really fault the place except for the B400 charge if you want to stay beyond 12 noon. For B650, we got a new and modern hotel, HOT water in the shower, very clean, and with friendly staff at the counter. Their English was limited but it didn't matter all that much. It is only a couple of hundred metres from all the action on Bangla Road. The aircon is good, and the TV is cable with plenty of English speaking news and programmes. Reliable booking service to the airport by either taxi or minibus, and they do not rip you off with this as some hotels do. No breakfast, but this is easily obtained outside at any price you want to pay from B50 to whatever. No question - will definitely stay there again.

Location ok, close to everything. Rooms are ok. No charge for overnight guests. No showercurtain which means that eveytime you shower the whole bathroom is wet including then toilet.. No elevator which is toughn if you´re on the 4th floor. Safetyboxes in the room, they give u a key for the box (stating the combination deosn´t work). I kept notes on my money in the box (after a few days, surprise/surprise...there was 2000Bath missing) no way to prove it... But seems this is somewhat common in these types of accomodation.. Really put a bad mood to the whole experience...

Location : It was situated pretty near the beach and bangla road and of course, the huge mall Junceylon . Room : If you re looking for a basic room with basic neccessities, this would definately be better than that. Rooms are quite small but consider the amt paid, it was well worth it all.(2 water drinks are included for you per day). Service : The receptionist/boss is very well mannered. He is definately of great help. He's a very pleasant guy and of course there's also the ladyboss. Whom speaks less but also a very nice person. There are well stocked and updated maps on the entrance to the hotel. The only point which may deter travellers who wish to party till late is that it locks the door aft 12am. However, don't be put off by this because you can always ring the bell and they will answer to the door in a swift manner. (One tip: bring a name card along with you if you wanna book tours as there are many tour angency/drivers whom do not know where excatly this hotel is located. And/or you can use TIGER INN as a landmark for pickups and dropoffs.) Hope all these reviews help.

Nice hotel, clean & easy wall to Bangala Road. I had a large room, but didn't like the wet bathroom (toilet/shower). The airconditioner was nice & quite. There was a room safe & beach towels were provided daily. Was woken up by construction work across the road every morning around 7:30am. After hours > 23:00hrs you need to ring the bell to be let in.

After a delayed flight we arrived quite late in the evening to The Birdcage, I was surprisingly greeted by first name when we walked through. They said they were expecting us! I booked this hotel for myself and 3 other girlfriends. We only passed through Phuket for 4 nights and this was perfect for us. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and even less to Bangla Road, close to the nightlife, bars and clubs but not too close that you can hear the noise. Good location and had no complaints about the rooms. Rooms are cleaned daily. There is no pool or breakfast but if you re anything like us and happy to laze all day at the beach and don't usually get up early enough for breakfast then this place will be perfect for you too!

Excellent location; near to 7-Eleven, motorbike rental, tour-agencies, restaurants, and within walking distance to the beach and Bangla Road. Friendly staff who speaks good English. Room is neat and clean, well decorated and safe. A/c is working good and there is hot shower. Bed is sturdy and pillows are just nice! Quilt is warm and comfortable. BirdCage is a place I will not hesitate to return to and recommend to my friends - Kew Lim from Singapore.

Excellent location; 7-Eleven, ATMs, Tour agency,cafes, restaurants, motorbike rental, laundry service all at your doorstep. The Patong beach and the famous Bangla Rd is within short walking distance. Staff is a friendly guy who speaks decent English and has no problem answering our questions on directions and advice. There is also free WiFi in the hotel and Computer terminals at the lobby. Room is Good! We stayed in Room #408. Bedsheet is clean, mattress is sturdy, pillows are comfortable and the quilts are heavy and warm! A/C is strong and there is also a safe-box in the cupboards. I had 2 good nights there. Bathroom has hot showers + 2 clean towels. The bathroom door lock is a little faulty, but the door still closes tightly; its alrite since I m staying with my partner. I will definitely recommend The BirdCage to my friends. It is well worth the money with its excellent location and comfortable room.

My wife and I stay at Bird Cage hotel in Patong beach for 4 nites. The rate is consider the cheapest along the area with same facilities. The hotel is very clean, spacy, service was good and the receiption who is a man is very friendly, always smile and willing to assist you with all information on tour in phuket. All room are fixed with Wifi, which is great. But the only thing is that the room has no telephone, so if you wanna call receiption, you have to go down. The hotel has 4 stories but no lift. Thus, it is better to book 2nd floor and below. Overall, the hotel is nice, located near the beach and in centre of all food center and enterntainment outlet. Great place to stay for below 1000 bath budget.

Location is very good, 10m walk and we are in the center of all activities in Patong. Deluxe Room that i stayed is big and clean, which have one kingsize bed and a single bed. Front deck at the hotel can speak english and is v helpful like all Thais. We booked our onward trip thru them. I am delighted that i found this budget and yet comfortable guesthouse- please do not expect hotel's facilities as those are only available at a hotel. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

The hotel is ok if you are on a budget.But after entering the hotel I realised that I could have paid more and stayed in a better hotel because there was no view from the hotel and no sunshine and the hotel window was blocked by the nearby building.We booked two rooms because we were 4 ppl but they gave the rooms one on the left side of the hotel and other on the right side of the hotel.No restaurant.I would not stay in this hotel next time.

very disappointed. when we arrived at the hotel, the staff told us that the air con in the room was broken,i dont know true or lies, or he had sold the room to another guest who pay more or direct check in, so he asked to move to another hotel,sweet dream hotel( near simon cabaret), very far from the night life in patong. sweet dream is a new small hotel, very far from patong, and when we book a tour to phi2 island, we lost it, because the driver cannot find the hotel. so in next time , must be careful booking via internet.

The hotel is located conveniently. It is in a fairly calm soi. The management is very nice and helpful. Breakfast not included and not possible to have in the hotel either. It is a small hotel with 4-5 floors (no elevator). Unfortunately, this hotel cannot avoid getting guest who are in Patong just to party and bring girls back to the room. Some nights a lot of noise from people having a good time . As we do not like that, this thing was a big negative for us. Patong in general shall be avoided if one is not there mainly to party and chase girls.

The Bird Cage Patong Guest House proved to be a wonderful choice for me and my wife when we travelled to Phuket last September. We were just budget travellers and my wife and I both agreed that we got our money's worth. The room where we stayed was clean and well-maintained. The bath room was spotlessly clean as well. Water pressure was strong and the airconditioning system was working perfectly well. The location was ideally quiet and was just a few minutes walk to the beach and nightlife areas. I will definitely stay in the same guest house should my family and I have the opportunity to travel to Phuket again in the near future.

Hotel is new with a good location. One side went thru a play yard which is very noisy sometimes. The hotel have no elevator and terrible stairs. Many write excellent service I can not agree, Ladyboss never smile and the staff made comment of what you do. Not good! I have been in Thailand many times and never find this lack of service. If you want to find the normal good service you get in Thailand you need to find an other hotel. I have also seen other negative comments here but they disappear?? Strange.

Hotel was okay. Economy room barely had enough room for our suitcase let alone two adults. We got moved to the superior which was definitely much better. Staff were friendly but some things to keep in mind are no bathtub, phone, alarm clock or stairs. As well the signs in the room that state laundry services, etc, none of it is available. It was clean and cheap though so if you do not require any of the above it was okay.
