От отеля на Райе присутствует трансфер, т.е. в стоимость проживания входит спитбот туда и обратно, плюс экзотика передвижения на тракторе, также туда и обратно. Катер отходит с причала Chalong Pier. В самом конце причала – два здания, похожих на наши провинциальные автостанции. Одно из них (самое последнее) – наше, там даже вывеска есть: «Трансфер и экскурсии на о.Райа. Отель Ban Raya Resort & Spa» (естественно все это на англ.). Уверен, что не заблудитесь. Катер идет до острова минут 20-25, т.е. укачать вас просто нет времени…Приплыли – что дальше? Гид, который будет на катере, покажет вам куда идти. Это здесь же на пристани острова. Грузимся на трактор и вперед к отелю! Такое такси здесь только от «Ban Raya Resort». Поездка даст вам общее впечатление об острове. Отель: на мой взгляд, лучший на острове. Сюда практически не приплывают лодки с экскурсиями, он находится на «необитаемой» стороне острова, соответственно экскурсии сюда не только не доплывают, но еще и не доходят. Пляж маленький, каменистый. Детей практически нет, зато снорклинг сумасшедший. Мы с женой минут по 40 из воды с масками не вылезали. В общем, настоятельно рекомендую. Бунгало – приличные. Есть достаточно дорогие, есть эконом вариант. Можно подобрать. Что удивило…я не могу обходиться без «кондера», здесь же за все время отдыха ни разу его не включал. Ночной бриз – великая штука. Поесть можно без проблем – либо здесь же в отеле, либо на другом необитаемом пляже. Там достаточно приличная тайская кафешка. Я обожаю такие. Идти от отеля минут 15. Везде висят карты – не заблудитесь. Если хочется немного пафоса – можно сходить на песочные пляжи других двух отелей.

Most of the staff were very friendly but at a place like this you defenitely expect the staff to speak better english!!! and concidering how much money we spent staying here at a delux room,i expected the rooms to be higher standard. Another downside was how loud it was between you and your neighbour.

fantastic surrounding with great nature... room and terass was ecxellent BUT do have in mind thet superior only has A/C between 18:00-08.00 and that both superior and deluxe are exclusive minibar and coffe facilities,bear in mind that the bar is lousy and unfriendly,so prepare for some thirsty nights on a fantastic veranda!

Room standard is ok, but the location of this hotel makes it totally worth the trip. We had a really nice time (stayed for 5 nights) and the pool is kickass with a very nice view over the sea and beach. If you want more beach than the one this hotel have it's easy to just take a walk or rent a motorbike to travel to the other beaches.

Absolut 100% nöjd med vår vistelse på denna underbara plats- vi hade bokat 3 dagar men stannade i 10 dagar. Jätte mysigt pool område, och mycket fin liten vik med superb snorkling. Vår yngsta dotter tog ridturer runt den fina ön. Mycket fin natur med rikt djurliv, varaner, fladdermöss, fjärilar och fåglar. God mat i restaurangen. Absolut inget nattliv eller störande trafik( finns ingen trafik). Proffsigt Spa med klass!

A place to relax and find peace. Stayed in a Deluxe room, nr 9, with A/C and with a view at the garden/resort. We also saw a glimps of the ocean.(Other nice Delux room are nr 8, 12, 13, 16, 17 20, 21). I think the price of the room is a little bit to expencive compared to other rooms we have stayed in, in Thailand. However we had a good time at Ban Raya. The beach at the resort is not a beach where you stay for sun and swim. It´s more for snorkelling and it´s ok. The pool at the resort is nice. The best beach/sand is Patok. It takes about 10-15 min to walk from Ban Raya. Siam beach is also good and more quiet. Unfortunaly Patok is busy with a lot of speedboats.

Ban Raya is a nice resort, with lotsa of trees, so it is more shady than the rest of resorts that is in the harsh sun. If you been to this part of the world, you will know what I mean by the harsh sun. Also, it has one of the best snorkelling sites on the island. Everyday, you will see daytrippers coming to this beach. The good thing is, they hardly get on the beach, just in the sea, so it is not as crowded as the Patok Bay. Now about the resort itself. The room is well kept everyday, and with 2 bottles of complimentary water every day. We booked a superior room, and the bed is huge and comfy. The receptionist is very polite and willing to help. Now for the bad things. The service in the restaurant sucks. They cannot be bothered to serve. We were sitting in the restaurant for 15 minutes with no one trying to serve us. In the end we gave up. There is on night we asked for take away. We ordered a dish, I think it was fried glass noodles. The waiter insisted that we could not take away because the dish needs a special plate. We were thinking, OMG. We got so angry and told them, just pack in a box and give it to us, who cared about the special plate. Next we asked for ice. Be prepared. They charged for bucket of ice. Imagine a room without fridge and they charged for ice. We ordered a bucket of ice and were charged 30 BAHT for it. All in all, do not let the services in restaurant deter you from staying here. This is just a downside, otherwise it would be a fantastic stay. Opt for other places like Raya Father for food or Paad Thai. They serve fabulous food.

Posto spettacolare, la spiaggia dell albergo è situata nel punto più bello dell isola per fare snorkelling. Lo staff è molto gentile e disponibile, il buffet della colazione è ben fornito, c è la possibilità di avere snack e bibite nei vari bar del resort, sia in piscina sia sulla spiaggia. I bungalow sono tutti a pochi minuti dalla spiaggia e comunque l isola si gira tranquillamente a piedi o in bicicletta. E un posto molto romantico e lo consiglio a chi ama il mare.

Here comes my warm recommendations and one warning to anyone going here for diving. First to all positives: This destination is a little paradise for anyone who wants some time away from a hectic life, or wants snorkeling and diving. The hotel provides you with a great service to an affordable price. Room quality is good value as long as you don't mind a very basic bathroom. The pool is beautiful and clean. Food is very good although there are many options for eating on the island. 4 beaches are reached within a walking distance offering a variety of options from privacy and beautiful snorkeling to white sand and sunbeds. The only big disappointment was the diving company associated to Ban Raya. It's run by sloppy finnish and british staff, not enough focused on normal diving praxis such as safety and providing good service and gear that works. I wasn't provided a depth meter. My intructor/buddy was aware of this and he didn't pay attention just jumped in and decended quickly without calibrating my experience. It resulted in me not being able to decend/ascend in a good way and I got my eardrum destroyed for many days. The great news is that there is a diving company that is run by Thai people and connected to the other hotel (The Racha). I used them as well. They have experienced divemasters, much better service (friendly and professional), gear and safety to the same price!!

Beside a fast and reliable service, the most impressive was the conversion into my local currency to an exchange rate that was much better than the one my credit card provides. Great Job!

great, we stayed 4 nights here ( 21 to 24 Dec), it is amazing, the two beaches inside/near this hotel are the best for snorkeling ( we tried all beaches in Racha), staff are very nice, food & garden is great, a bit expensive in peak season, 7800B, we stay in Pavillon, but the best value room should be the delx one. Reminder! they charge 3% commisson on any payment from credit cards, so ensure you brought enough cash

The hotel where on the other side of the island. With private beach, that was better to snorkling than to swim and play. To come to a better beach U have to walk for about 15 minutes. Its a wonderful walk. Where U can see lizards and bullocks. The sand is white and the water is cristal clear. Its alot of fish in the water.

Wonderful location. Koh Raya is still unspoiled. The hotel beach is 10 meters from a beautiful coral reef, we snorkeled at least twice a day, for hours and hours. The whole island is lovely, visit Leh Bay for another great reef, Siam bay for a wonderful white beach. The hotel grounds are serene, the service ok, the rooms are not top notch but that is not why we went there. 100% satisfied!

Stayed in a Deluxe room which was basic but adequate. Grounds are very nice and so is the infinity pool overlooking the beach. Snorkling at the hotel beach is amazing with tropical fish in abundance. Staff very friendly. Internet expensive and excruciatingly slow. Restaurant food was mainly Thai, not particularly good and slightly overpriced, still there are other eating options on the island. We ate at the Racha one night which was expensive but good. Although the resort was almost full, you certainly didn't get that impression, and it made for a very relaxing 4 day break.

Ban Raya Resort and Spa, Koh Racha Yai From Chalong Piere to Ban Raya Resort, the boat service was great. When we got to the resort, Khun Ae(receptionist) was wonderful and very helpful. Everyone at the resort were very friendly and smiled all the time. The resort itself situated on the clift, very quiet and peaceful.(eventhough all the rooms were booked). Resort restaurant had a good food and resoanable price. Beautiful snorgelling beaches, and if you walk about 10 minutes to Siam Bay you will find a long stretch of white sand beach, clear water and a good food restaurant with an excellent service.I f you like a good massage I suggested you go see Khun Jeab(at the resort spa)she got a very strong hands. We will definitely go back again.

Very Quiet, and that's a good thing! The other resort on the island is crowded and noisy. Beach on resort is a bit rocky but has excellent snorkeling. Two white sand beaches are withing 10 minutes walking (check out Siam Bay, beautiful and not crowded). Hotel staff was fantastic, very helpful and pleasant to work with. Food was excellent as well. Don't miss getting an oil or Thai massage, just make sure you schedule it first. Very highly recommended if you want to get away from the crowds. If you are looking for the night-life, look elsewhere.

One of the two hotels on the Racha island that is located amidst the nature at the cliff overlooking Khon Kare Bay known for scuba and water diving. Beautiful place, friendly staff and service that made our stay pleasurable and memorable. I think it was not wise spending money on deluxe room so we stayed in a superior room that had air-conditioning and fan from 6pm to 8am, which worked well for us as we were out whole day visiting other beaches on the island. The rooms were spacious, nice and clean. The hotel staff were very helpful, always at your service and willing to go an extra mile. I guess that's what Thai people are known for. Due to off peak season, only main restaurant was in operation. They served most authentic Thai food and very very delicious too that I had had at various Patong and Karon restaurants. Considering the quality of Thai food, its pricing was much better compared to the other restaurants on Phuket island. My kid had great fun at the pool which was very clean. It is at the cliff overlooking the sea. He also enjoyed playing with the butterflies and baby crabs in the sea shell. One day we went to The Racha hotel beach hoping to spend few hours at the beach, dine at the Racha hotel restaurant and return to Ban Raya. But upon reaching there were told by its staff that it is a private beach and were given an unwelcome feeling. We requested paying for the beach benches that were not occupied due to off peak season. But the staff did not come back who had gone to sought permission from The Racha hotel manager. I do not blame the staff, but rather its management for presenting an unwelcome feeling. Waiting tirelessly, I paid few beers and made use of its bar overlooking the beach for my parents. This small (yes..very small) incident made me change my plan and returned to friendly Ban Raya and enjoyed its pool and dinner again. Unlike Ban Raya, that also welcomes the guest visitors and allow use of its beach bench for a small fee. It has helped remove my urge of not staying at The Racha and ensured my decision staying at Ban Raya when I visit the island again. The Racha beach is smaller than the Siam beach.

When we arrived at Ban Raya we were very pleasantly surprised. In fact, the pictures we had seen of the resort ahead of time do not do it justice. We were expecting clean but simple and were very happy that Ban Raya is much more than this. Beautiful ocean views through the coconut trees in the big garden stretching down to the little beach. The pool is lovely, especially in the evening. Our deluxe AC room was nice. Big bed, spacious bathroom, everything worked, clean, simple. The service was good overall (with the exception of one young waiter) and we were greeted very pleasantly and professionally when we arrived by longtail (the boat ride can be wet - we were soaked through on the way back). The food is fine. Never great, never bad. We had one dinner at The Racha's sunset restaurant on the beach - very much worth it for the view and atmosphere, but the food was very average, especially at that price. Koh Racha is amazingly beautiful - fabulous beaches with lovely white sand, the clearest water and nice little places for lunch etc. It was a little busy midday when all the day trippers were on the beach, but from around 3 or 4 in the afternoon we were practically alone. Overall we had a really wonderful holiday. We would gladly recommend Koh Racha and Ban Raya and we hope to return ourselves some day.

The wildlife exeptional with monitor lizard (we say a infant at the resort) giant bats, birds and alot och colourful fishes and clear water. Visitors should be aware that transport between Racha Yai and Phuket is still limited and it may be better to return to Phuket the day before catching connecting or homebound flights.

Bungalows were clean and comfortable, electricity on only from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., a minor inconvenience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Snorkeling was great at the resort's beach. Day boats anchor in the middle of the day, but mornings & afternoons we had the bay to ourselves. Restaurant food was good, but we had to request spicy, or it was pretty bland. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved Ban Raya. We found the staff to be so helpful and friendly. We have a 1 year old child and the staff were always playing with him and helping us as much as they could. Ban Raya resort is perched on a hill with sprawling grounds so there is a lot of space and shade. You can easily relax there.There is a small beach at ban raya where quite a few boats gather to snorkel and dive.We booked a superior and a deluxe bungalow. The superior was spacious and clean although the bathrooms are looking a bit tired, Could be improved, The deluxe had a nice bathroom and electriciry 24hrs. It gets hot during the day so if you can afford deluxe go for it.Food was good at the restuarant and easy to walk around the island and snorkel at other bays. Will definitely be back.

Nice Bungalows in beautiful surroundings. Great pool. The easiest accessible snorkelling we have seen. Restaurant was ok except for the annoying birds coming into the place leaving droppings and grabbing food from your plate. But in all, well worth visiting. What a great location. We were originally only going to stay in Phuket - but what a relief we took this side trip. Very quiet location and very attentive staff, great if you want to escape the noise of Phuket. The main beach is great for snorkelling and swimming though is a hot walk from the hotel (10mins). Overall Fantastic.
