Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
We spent 4 nights in Tup Kaek Beach Resort. The Beach, the view to the sea with the rocks are fantastic. Also the garden is great and the place is very silent. The problem is, that you are far from the next village and it's very expensive (600 Baht one way) to go there. Therefore you have to eat in the hotel where it's expensive and the service is not very good.

The location of the resort is off the main tourist spots at the most beautiful beach we ve seen during our trip through Thailand. If you just want to enjoy your time at a nice spot: go there. You can also rent a motorbike for 350 RMB and drive towards Ao Nang if you want some action. Or you book one of the boat trips with longtail boats that pick you up at the beach. The resort looks very nice on the first glance. BUT: It seems the rooms are not ventilated properly when there are no guests. Our room smelled very bad - like something is molding or the wood is rotting. My friend is allergic to mold :( after keeping the windows open non-stop the smell became bearable, but still not nice. The staff was very helpful and tried to offer different rooms. But they all had the same bad smell. Pool water also seemed very bad and we never saw anybody swimming in it.

Very good location, nice, closed to the beach. The beach bungalow was fine, the room very clean A little bit far away from town, but no noisy, very few long tail boats - which was a good aspect. Brackfast always the same every morning and the restaurant close at 10 in the evening - nothing to do around. The personal was very polite, ready to help you in every situation.

The Resort had a perfeckt location. Just 20 minuts drive into Ao Nang and fare away from the shopping-and trafic jam. The cabin was as expected for a 3 star hotel. The SPA was expencive compared to what we paid in town, but they were good. The restaurant was a disaster. Absolutly no control.Inefficient slow service, and when we finally got the food, it was usually not the one we had ordered. They had zero control over what they were doing. When we complained about this, we got even worse service the rest of the holiday. But the food was very tasty. There was no variation in the breakfast offer. Exactly the same things for 14 days...It is a pity that such a perfect location is destroyed by incompetent restaurant staff

sehr schöne, ruhige Anlage in gepflegtem tropischen Garten mit Vögeln. Nachts absolut still. Feiner Sandstrand. Sonnenuntergang gigantisch.Nur die Hotelbars am Strand, keine kleinen typischen Strandbars. Essen in allen Resort-Restaurants gut.Am schönsten in der Resortbar direkt am Strand mit den Füssen im Sand.Wenige Leute an Strand. Keine Partymeile.

Can only recommend this wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. However, during the time we were there, there was a lot of digging out of old trees (heavy noise with digger, motor saws , replanting of coconut trees, palm trees etc. and also re-doing the pathways. It must be really looking beautiful for the guests spending their holidays there in the upcoming high season starting soon. It would have been nice though, if we were advised upon arrival at the hotel about this inconvenience, at least. Apart from that - can only recommend this beautiful resort!!

wow!! this place is awesome!!! I cant say anything bad about this place. We were here for only 2 nights. Over New Years. They made so much effort so that everyone enjoyed their New Years. It was so special. the staff are great!! So friendly and helpful. I forgot my phone at the resort. and when I arrived in Phuket I realised it. They ve send my phone the next day with the boat to Phuket, they made sure my phone is save! they made so much effort. On New Years Eve they had a Gala Dinner, with great food, my boyfriend is allergic to fish, and they had someone to show him exactly what not to eat. I was actually sad to leave Tup kaek Sunset Beach Resort, wished I could have stayed longer there. the beach is lovely, the pool and the rooms are clean. best place to stay when you want to have a beautiful view and friendly staff. Will come and stay here again!

The hotel is really nice. But you have to be aware that there is no any shops or restoran you can go (only some on the beach of 2 other hotels) and better change money at the airport. But we rent a bike and had our own siteseing, cheep massage and restorans. Rooms in the hotel are nice, reception staff helpfull. So I liked my stay their.

We had a great stay. The location is arguably the nicest part of the nicest beach in Krabi. Rooms were small but fine, bathroom could do with an upgrade but everything worked well. The restaurant could improve it's ambiance (stop the awful piped supermarket music), but the Thai food for lunch and dinner was better than the fashionable Tupkaak Boutique resort next door. Breakfast wasn't great. It is worth stocking up on supplies (alcohol + snacks) before you arrive as everything is expensive and it's relatively remote. Overall I would highly recommend this place - go for the beachfront bungalows , there are not so many places where you can stay so close to the beach these days.

Reservation service:
Efficient - extension of stay was handled very smoothly.

Just what we were looking for...quiet & peacefull. Not a place for partiers. Beach front bungalow was very clean and well looked after. Restaurant okay, varied menu and good food. Nice big breakfast (included) kept us going through to dinner. Other resorts on the beach have restaurants as well, but we never felt the need to try them. Good, friendly service. Beautiful beach and sunsets. Recommended for those seeking peace and quiet.

Tup Kaek Sunset Beach Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
My husband and I enjoyed this resort. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, and breakfast was included in the price of our stay--about $80/night which was a bargain for us. The resort was practically deserted for most of our visit; we had the beautiful pool all to ourselves every day. The resort faces west, so sunsets every night were spectacular with a great view of outlying islands. Our room was very clean and modern with all amenities. Room service was quick overall with very reasonably-priced items. The restaurant likewise was fine with a very large menu. The one thing that might give someone pause to stay at this resort is that it is quite secluded and not within walking distance to anything other than 2 other small resorts just up the beach. However, one can rent a motorbike or arrange for a driver for day trips; also island boat tours are easily arranged for in the lobby--longtail boats can pick you up right on the beach. We rented a scooter so had no problems exploring the surrounding towns and countryside, but it took us a 10-minute drive to get anywhere. If you enjoy privacy, serenity, and peacefulness, this place is for you. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful situation on quiet sandy bay well away from any towns. Small rooms but clean and well equiped with balcony overlooking beach. Staff excellent, friendly and efficient. Good if you want to chill out or have small kids, less good for nightlife lovers and teens. Very safe swimming, best two hours either side of high tide. Long tail boats come to beach in am to tout for customers to take to islands for snorkelling etc. Food quite good but dining area and bar pretty grim, reminiscent of a canteen. Good newish spa, though the same treatment in Ao Nang will cost a quarter. Next door hotel (tut Kaek Boutique Resort) has excellent food, live music, good wine list and great ambiance, at a price. You need a taxi to visit anywhere else at all, not cheap. Three new luxury hotels nearly opened on same beach, may liven things up but at a price. They look to be very up-market. All in all, we loved it ! Peter UK

In general it was good, the place is breathtakingly beautiful, very clean, stylishly decorated, taken great care of. No problems with electricity or hot water. The bungalow is very small and we would advise to equipe it with the tea pot as the place is quite away from caffes where you could have a cup of tea after 10pm. Chairs and small table on the terrace would also give more comfort and partly reimburse the small size of the room. The staff people were very nice and we got friendly help from the restaurant staff even after it was closed. The beach is clean and interesting to explore after the water goes away - lots of sea life as if on the Discovery! The only minus was that the waters start to away at 2pm and after lunch you have to walk a long distance to sweam in the sea or go to the pool. The pool is very clean, very nice and beautifully decorated. The restaurant location gives nice sea view but would be more successfull if offers more choice of food. Renting of motobike gives opportuniy to explore the places around and it was very interesting and we found nice alternatives to our restaurant. I would highly recomment the place for the people who like quite and natural locations, fresh air and less people around.

Reservation service:

We arrived late at the hotel but we were immediately received with warm welcome by the friendly staffs who seem to tend to our every needs promptly and with a great attitude! The service here is terrific and i would definitely reccommend it to my friends. Also, the room we reserved is actually a beach front villa which was wonderful as well..The cosy little villa faced the beautiful beach and is just a short walk away from the restaurant. We were there during the New Yr's Eve and had a wonderful time. It may not be as populated or crowded as the town or AO nang Beach, but the staffs are really trying their best to make the guests feel special..If you re looking for a private and special experience, definitely this hotel.. My friends and i will be coming back soon for another relaxing holiday..

Arriving at Tup Kaek from the sweltering heat of Bangkok was literally a breath of fresh air. The self contained bungalow, while a little small, was very comfortable and the service across the board was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and we were lucky to make friends with a couple of the staff who then took us out for a night on the town in nearby Ao Nang and let us stay the night at their home. The resort facilities were great ie; pool, internet access, food, room service, housekeeping, laundry, etc. The private beach was as good as it looked online and there were plenty of activities to get involved with. We spent New Years Eve at Tup Kaek and enjoyed a seafood smorgasbord followed by a game where every bungalow wins a prize (my prize being a 9 year old bottle of red Thai wine), followed by some games on the beach then a display of firedancing and finally capped off by lighting lamps at midnight on the beach that drifted off into the night sky. An amazingly relaxing experience overall in a tranquil location and looked after by fantastic staff. Thank you Tup Kaek.
