Very nice and cosy resort in green surroundings. Two good pool areas. Very clean and proper. The resort are located perfect on the beach. I can very much recommend the family suites. Only downside was the staff that, surprisingly, acted a little laid back and not so super nice as we are used to in Thailand. Food and beverages can be found much cheeper and better in other resorts on the beach.

Beautiful rooms, great staff and wonderful surroundings. Location is great, just a short tuk-tuk ride from Saladan. Hotel services are a little on the expensive side (spa, massage, laundry, etc.) but cheaper alternatives are available a few metres along the beach. The coffee is excellent but the food is very ordinary and comparatively expensive. The tastiest food is a short stroll away along the main road. We will stay here again!

We enjoyed our staying at Royal Lanta very much. We were upgraded to a Mountain view suit and this made our stay much easier and above our expectaions. Both pools were nice, enough depth for children to be able to play and dive and always kept clean on a daily basis. The whole resort had a nice garden well taken care of. The resort was clean and nice though parts of the facility was a bit run down (bare electricity in the room, broken deck chairs, moldy parasols, broken wooden deck around the pool and broken stones around the edge of the pool). This was a pity since it affects the overall experience. All personell were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning of room was above expectation. From the kitchen we would have hoped for more both for breakfast and dinner. So most dinners were eaten at other places. More chairs for babies would have made breakfast easier. We could recomend the resort and would love to come back.

The hotel service is excellent. Staff is very attentive, friendly. Villas/bungalos are very clean, comfortable. Two swimming pools are great. We were at low season - so there were just 3 families in resort. Nice wooden beach beds, emply beach. We really enjoyed it. Used spa facilities - massages and spa. The prices are a bit high, but the service is excellent. The only dissapointing thing - are breakfasts. The options are extremely limited, no varieties. We compensated it by eating in the villge. Отель очень понравился. Все очень чисто, красивый сад на территории, два бассейна. Бунгало красивые (куполообразный потолок внутри создает ощущение простора), полотенца меняли каждый день, постельное белье белоснежное. В низкий сезон нас было 3 семейных пары на весь отель. Персонал был супер счастлив ответить на все вопросы. Ходили в СПА салон - массаж и спа процедуры делали. Цены, конечно, высоковатые. НО - качество отличное. Единственное, что не понравилось - завтраки. Выбора практически нет - американский завтрак (два яйца, тост, сок, кофе) или хлопья. Если хотите насладиться супер частным пляжем, тишиной и оочень вкусной местной едой - это для вас!

We stayed in a suite just behind the pool. The room was huge with an outdoor shower and a large verandah looking accross the pool and out to sea. The resort was not worth the money in any way. The service at the bar was dreadful, most unhapy staff I have seen they did not even say hello or smile and threw the drinks menu at us when we had to ask for it.- same with breakfast staff - in face we ate and drank else where (next door) the breakfast was dreadful and the whole resort quite rundown. My friend enjoyed the spa and the coffee shop though. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and stored our bages for 7 people whilst we checked out and went on a day tour then they met us at the dock with our bags and took us to the next hotel in Krabi (at a cost). But this was good as we did not waste a day. The pool on the sea front needs a face lift along with new umbrellas etc. There are huts in the resort near the pool for massages by the beach but were not staffed. The resort was way overpriced, no drink service around the pool - would not stay there again.

very good, beautiful, clean, attent staff, 2 swimmingpools also for small kids, beautiful library, good and spacious rooms, complimentary water every day, good breakfast, nice beach,forget streetside but go to the beach in the evening for restaurants and bars. However no watercooker in the room, and after 22:00 hrs the restaurant and bakery is closed; so when our kids went to bed, we could not get any coffee nor any other drink. Overall the resort is absolutely recommended

Very nice location of the resort on the beach. The beach in front of hotel is nice. Offers the calmness I request to relax and wind down. Very friendly staff. New Mountain View area looks very nice. However some other areas are in need of renovation, e.g. pool chairs and cushions, sunshades. More chairs close to the beach should be good since many guests reserve a chair by putting a towel on the chair and leave it unused for some time. Stayed in a normal bungalow with OK standard (3 people), except for the hot water that was very poor in the shower. Missing a safe in the room to keep cameras, PC etc. Small safe box available at reception. Breakfast is sufficient. For lunch I recommend Hans immediately to the right on the beach. I would recommend people to stay here. If you have kids, they will for sure find some friends here.

First of all, I highly recomend visiting koh lanta. On the low season the island is very empty and bowring- Good only for relaxing, and on the high season this is the best option oround. The Hotel has a great atmosphire- Very treditional looking. The rooms are big and the location is superb- in the center of the main beach.Breakfast was very good and diverced- even in the low season. Few things to improve- the water stream is preaty whick- and not warm hinough. The restorant is only good for breakfast- not recomended for lunch or dinner. I highly recomend the restorant on the left side (when you go to the beach from the resort, turn left and the first restorant is very good).

The resort is very good, and it becomes the only one that with a few guests in low season as May.. We do enjoy the Royal Executive suit facilities. So thus the SPA area and the clean swimming pool. The coffee shop is so great that I almost had Cappcino everyday. My parents enjoy this trip alot.The staff also very nice, they provide First Aid when my mum had unexpected hurt on her finger.If go again, I may still choose this resort

Great. We were upgraded to the Mountain View Suite which had a lovely big room with more or less a private pool, since most guests used the other pool nearer to the beach. Beach was spacious with relatively few people for the time of year and the sea was lovely. Kids had a lot of fun. Breakfast buffet was fine. Didn't eat any other meals at the restaurant - lots of other places to choose from on the beach - so cannot comment on that.

A lovely hotel - wonderful staff and a superb restaurant. Clean and nice beach. The receptionists did everything to support us and made life easy - as you expect having vacation. We can really recommend this hotel - it was much better than we could dream about.

This place is HEAVEN on earth. It is every thing you would expect and dream of in the perfect island holiday, and then some. The resort is perfectly located in the centre of a horse shoe bay style beach that is ideal for children, with beautiful clean sand. The bungalows are devine, traditional and spacious, and very very comfortable.The resort it self is beautifully landscaped so the whole flow is a lush, tropical feel. The pools are sparkling clean one overlooking the beach, the other (massive) pool, set against the lush mountain view. The food is first class, ( and VERY affordable) the breakfast everything you could want, the staff bend over back wards to exceed you expectations. Its not often a place looks better in real life that the shots online - but this place definately does. Ideal for relaxing yet minutes ( and about $1 aud) to the over the water restuarants and (good) shopping of saladan. Tuk Tuks always avaliable at the door. A special thanks to the owner who ensured my daughters 4th birthday was magical...custom made cake and all!!!! Double thumbs up and can't wait to get back there!!!!!!

Very well situated, peaceful, quiet hotel which was just what we were looking for. Outstanding access to the beach, good pool and gardens and good sun beds. A lot of care and attention had gone into the layout. If we were being picky the bungalows were a bit too tightly packed together. It would have been good to have a phone in the room. Food/drink and the spa a little more expensive than surrounding facilities and similar resort hotels on same beach. One or two of the staff lacked a little English but not to detract from an overall high quality service. The coffee shop was very good.

Thank you for a lovely stay on Royal Lanta resort and i can totally recommand the place to anyone. The rooms very cleaned and very nice furnished. The staff at the spa and treatment department was excellent and very nice and service minded.Treatment very professional. What a gorgeous hotel. The bungalows are beautiful and so close to the beach,which is really lovely.There are also 2 swimming pools.Very good buffet breakfasts.The staff were very efficiant, and so nice and helpful.I would definately stay here again. I can't fault it.

We stayed at The Royal Lanta Resort for almost three weeks and we were absolutely satisfied. The room (Deluxe) was very nice and clean, the staff were extremely friendly and the pools, the restaurant and the beach were all a great pleasure. We travelled with two small children (aged 2 and 6).

Really nice hotel, one of the best on Khlong Dao Beach, rooms are really big and the service was awesome. Hotel restaurant had some great food as well, the green curry chicken was the best I had in Thailand. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

Fantasic hotel! Great location, right on the beach. Our room - royal executive was very lovely and spacious. The food in the restaurant was of the best we d ever tried in Thailand and very well priced! The bar was nice too. Everything was perfect for our honeymoon, except for the weather - very unpredictable but it was the end of the monsoon season!

I have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Lanta Resort and Spa and would diffenately stay there again. Our Royal Excutive room was very large and comfortable and included all amenities right down to a massage roller for our feet. The resort offered two pool areas one of which was ideal for children. The ground were beautifully maintained, much nicer than some of the surrounding properties. The service provided by the staff could not be faulted and restaurant provided the ideal location for breakfast by the sea.

My family and I arrived at Royal Lanta and got greatly dissapointed. We had booked 2 of the very best rooms with mountainview. Both rooms were very dimm and smelled bad from the bathroom with the spa. There were fungus in the showers, the water from the bathroom-tab was orange with rust, so we couldnt take a spa-bath after all. We got 2 singlebeds in our room, eventhough we had requested a doublebed.We asked for another room with a doublebed and was then introdused to a room that smelled even worse than our own room. Roomcleaning suggested to spray something nice-smelling into the rooms, so they would smell better. We went to the beach and was again dissapointed. The promised seaview was totally gone. The entier seafront was covered by a 4½ meters high green plastic-wall, so neither the beach or the water was visible. We asked why the wall was there and were told it was because of the wind. We then went to the pool closest to our rooms. It was very dirty. We didnt see any other guests there either, neihter did we see any guests at the restaurant. It all seemed deserted and kind of creapy. The spa was closed, eventhough we were told it should be open, the bakery was closed too, eventhough a sign on the door told us they should be open right now, all the facilities we came to enjoy were not availible. There were many mosquitoes in our room, in the entire resort actually. The mosquito-net on our beds didnt have a top, so we got bidden bad all of us. No telephone in any of the rooms so we could contact the reception, and if we wanted rooomservice we had to walk to the reception and then pay extra to get the service. No safety-box in any of our rooms either, but a box was availible in the reception if needed. All 4 of us agreed that this was not a 5 star hotel - maybe a 3 star,if we were nice in our rating. It took us about 3 hours to realize that we couldnt have a joyfull stay at Royal Lanta. We contacted SiameServices webb and checked out the morning after our arrival. We spoke to a young man (a guest) in the reception as we left the resort. He and his wife were leaving the resort too, for the same reasons we had experienced. The young couple were on their honeymoon and were very sad. We can not recommend this resort to anyone, eventhough it looks beautiful on paper. The reality is, that it sucks big time.

nice hotel with nice family houses. But bathroom can use an upgrade! when we came (august) there were only 3 other rooms rented so we saw nobody in the restaurant,beach and pool. there was a huge green curtain between beach and hotel so NO nice view. beach was dirty with big waves and strong currant and they did not clean it up also no beds on the beach so you have to stay by swimming pools.they closed the spa for 2 months (was not on there site when we booked) island is overal quiet in this period so only go here if you want rest. they were renovating the houses so if you go in high season we think you have a good hotel

Did 3 trips, very nice and reasonable price. We had a bungalow great for our family of 5. On this beach, the best of ko lanta, for ure the best deal. We paid 2100 bath family room, one night free because we stay 5 nights.

The hotel is highly recommended. It has excellent service (when we had some electrical problems with our room, it was promptly and courteously changed), a good beach (although there is a lot of litter, as it is cleaned only once a week during the low season), two nice swimming pools, a decent restaurant and nice landscaping. Whether with a family of with just your spouse, this palce is highly recommended. Staff is ready to help out with any request, including fending off storm winds at breakfast!! The only (slightly) negative comment is about the location of the furniture in the room (we ahd Royal SUite):the TV table was bang in the centre of the room, with exposed wiring and plugs, which may not be safe for small children. Otherwise, I suggest you make your way to Royal lanta, during the low season, when it is not at all crowded, and have a really relaxing stay. be prepared for some slow Ferry crossings, however.

It was truly relaxing. The resort was great. Our room was beautiful, we had the royal executive suite. We relaxed in front of the pool most everyday and ate at the restaurant almost every time. The food in the restaurant was excellent! We ate Thai everyday, the shrimp curries were mouth watering. It was only a little more expensive than eating outside the resort and we thought well worth it. It was low season so allot of places were closed and when we ate outside we were disappointed. All the resort staff were lovely. Only complaint was that the bed was pretty hard and the chamber maids could have paid more attention to detail. The important parts were clean enough, bed shower toilet etc. but allot of corners unkept. Also allot of geckos and giant cockroaches. I m a bit squeamish. I must remind myself it is the jungle after all . It was very quiet romantic holiday, just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommended. :-)

Excellent choice for someone looking for a relaxing place or for a family wanting to get away for vacations. The Royal Lanta had a great location: in front of a nice and clean sandy beach. With two nice swimming pools, you can decide where to enjoy the sun! The staff was very friendly and helpful although some of the restaurant's staff were not so good with English, but this can be solved easily as there were others who were more knowledgeable. The restaurant was good also.

We had a really fab and relaxing time at Royal Lanta. The surroundings are beautiful and the apartments are spacious and very clean set in gardens with decking pathways. As well as two beautiful pools, the sea is right on the doorstep. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is amazing, slightly more expensive than neighbouring restaurants but well worth the extra. We also tried the Spa and each had a Thai massage - an experience to say the least! The only problem I would say is that there were a lot of Scandanavians with at least 2/3 children in each family which spoiled the peace and tranquility slightly.
