Hotellet var över förväntan och personalen mycket trevlig. Läget på hotellet är inte det bästa eftersom det är långt till andra matställen m.m. Restaurangen på hotellet höll bra standard men är relativt dyr.Vi var där under lågsäsong och det är verkligen dött på Koh Lanta.

We booked in September and paid 20% deposit. One week before arrival I sent an e-mail just to check. Got the information that Relax Bay dit not have any room for us, some doublebooking had been made. Instead they suggested another resort in another beach. Really bad! We were very upset.

Thought we were safe when booking through an orginisation but were not. Very disappointing. But we got great help from Mr Wisil and assistants to get another resort. The resorts were Andaman and Nakara so everything turned out fine but a lot of worrying of course.

Roof bugs quite loud during night, hard to sleep, reflecting the resort being natural and relaxing. Road out to town is not welcoming, muddy and dusty, make your trip out of resort on foot qutie difficult. Nice restaurant,

Eine schöne Anlage , die wahrlich zum relaxen einlädt. Noble Einfachheit vor übertriebenem Luxus. Freundliches Personal. Auch für Familien mit Kindern geeignet. Alles gepflegt und sauber. Die Bar am Strand beim Sonnenuntergang einmalig! Mit dem Essen und dem Service im Restaurant waren wir allerdings weniger zufrieden. Fisch (red snapper) war nicht frisch (sogar nicht ausgenommen und hat entsprechend gestunken), Service zwar freundlich aber dilettantisch (bringen lauwarme Suppe und Hauptmahl zusammen, so dass auch das an und für sich gute Rindfleisch mit Gemüse kalt gegessen werden), Frühstücksbuffet eintönig. Gott sei dank gibt es auf dem Strand einfache Restaurants der Einheimischen mit sehr frischen und preisgünstigen Fisch. Transfer zum Flughafen 2 Stunden für ca 60 € ein Weg. Alles in allem aber positive Bilanz.

After travelling for more than 2,5 weeks all throughout Thailand and therefore having experienced a lot of generally nice Thai town hotels and beach resorts, we finally stayed at Relax Bay Resort in Koh Lanta for 5 days. We had a nice and clean, non-luxurious fan bungalow located near to the beach. Unfortunately there were some things that tempered our delight: Some members of the front staff didn\ t speak English properly and therefore weren\ t able to give us proper information, which led to several misunderstandings during our stay, e.g. on check-out we should pay additional 1500 Baht for breakfast we didn\ t book and didn\ t have. Resort owned restaurant and beach bar are very expensive, you aren\ t allowed to bring your own drinks to the beach. There are hardly any possibilities to spend a nice evening in the near surrounding as it is very quiet and often we were the only guests in the restaurants and bars near to the resort. \r\nAltogether Relax Bay Resort should be a nice place to spend a relaxing holiday, if you just want to do sunbathing without any other activities and don\ t want to get any further information at front desk.

Positive : - Very nice resort, calm and beautiful decoration on a beautiful setting (private beach) - Very good restaurant - Very nice staff Negative - Some bungalows seem isolated and need to be refreshed.. - Rats in our bungalow (I m sure it was an isolated case since our bungalow was isolated from the rest and needed to be refreshed) - When getting back to hotel at night, long walk on a dark road with some dogs but they are harmless.. SUMMARY : Except for the rats, this hotel is a real recommendation and I would certainly go back.. This time I'll double check my bungalow before putting my suitcase down..

Beautiful location, set right on the beach, lovely beach bar bar. Very, very relaxed and chilled. Rooms are on the basic side, but as we were only staying 2 nights, this wasn't really a problem for us. Mosquito's are a bit of a problem here.

We enjoyed our stay at Relax Bay. Very quiet and not much people on the beach. The only negative side was that we didn't have a mini-fridge in our bungalow so you are very dependent of the resort whenever you want to buy something to drink. The prices for the food is twice as much as in the town. But the place itself is gorgeous! Would recommend it.

On the outside Relax Bay is everything it says it is, relaxing. Exactly what you imagine when you think of Thailand.It is a fantastic looking resort located in the beautiful Koh Lanta. We booked a fan bungalow which was not too pricey and completely adequate for what we wanted. To get into town or visit other resorts we had to travel but this did not phase us as we were looking for something secluded. Unfortunately, out of our 3 week trip Relax Bay was the least enjoyable place we stayed at. We often felt like we were not welcome which was strange as we found the Thai people on a whole to be absolutely gorgeous. Making a huge assumption I felt that the staff and vibe at Relax Bay would be completely different with different management. We did stay an extra night in Koh Lanta at another resort and as we expected the staff were brilliant and we felt welcome.

Having traveled to Ko Lanta a few times, I was looking forward to sharing the experience with my childhood friend of 45+ years. After a lot of internet searching we choose Relax Bay-it sounded like what we were looking for. Arriving at the resort staff seemed harried and treated us so. Luckily a friendly, smiling fellow named Man had picked us up from the ferry and was a good first impression. Although only the family bungalows are beachfront, we at least expected a beach view of some sort, especially as we made the booking 8 months in advance. Sorry Diedier (owner/manager), a dirty swimming pool isn't the view one hopes for at a seaside resort. Upon closer inspection we realized it really IS a secluded bay with difficult access to kilometers long beaches on either side. It was suggested that we crawl over the rocks. ???? How were we going to have long beach walks and sample the bars made entirely of materials that wash up on the beach during the rainy season? Fisherman's plastic float balls turned into beautiful lights with punched out designs and thai cushions on the beach where you can enjoy a cold Singha and star gaze was the experience we were looking for. Clearly, Relax Bay wasn't that experience but half of our 7 night stay was already paid for so we hoped that a different bungalow might at least give us a view of the sea. Had Diedier heard our concerns and been hospitable we would have stayed despite it not being what we had hoped for. His attitude towards us was rude, to say the least. We immediately went in search of a new place to stay and checked out the following morning, forfeiting our deposit. We did find the experience we were looking for on beautiful Khlong Nin beach with a happy, friendly Lanta Thai family-who invite everyone to join them in an impromptu game of beach volleyball each night when the sun starts to lose it's heat. In all fairness Relax Bay is nice for family's with small children who don't want to venture out at night. The beach is protected from large waves and there aren't any bars nearby that may bother a child's sleep. The lunch we had on our arrival was nice but we didn't like the feeling we might have to eat there most nights. Oh..the beds were so hard that a 7 night stay would have been impossible anyway and if you re expecting the owner/manager/director to show you he's happy you re his guest-forget it. In the end we got the experience we wanted due to Diedier's unwelcoming manner and for that we thank him. If he d been nice we would have felt obligated to stay and not had nearly as much fun as we did.

Relax Bay is in many ways a beautiful place. Still it ended up a big disappointment to me and my family and we checked out after 1 night instead of the 5 we had booked. The main reason was the myriad of frogs and/or crickets that kept us awake throughout the night from the swamp infront of the hut AND the 4-5 large watchdogs that the owner has and allows to rush around the beach and mark on anyone at any time. There was no way we would let our kids move around the beach in that environment. In short, we could not at all do what you should do at this place, relax, and we were revealed when we instead found a new home at a great family run place on Klong Dao beach (Lanta Garden Home).

This place was great. The staff were all very cool. The property was very beautiful and the beach was beautifull. We stayed in the AirCon Bungalow next to the pool. It was perfect for us and a great price. There was no TV or refrigerator which is okay but I would like a place to put some food or drinks in to keep cold. Drinks at the resort are a little expensive. We ended up buying a bag of ice at the 7/11 next to the resort. That ended up being a good alternative to the 80 Baht beers at the resort. The restaraunt at this place was great. Very delicious food with cool staff. I think this was the best staff of all my trips to Thailand. The beach bar is really cool too but it's pretty quiet at night. If you walk about 5 minutes down the beach there's another pretty cool beach bar with cheap drinks and good music. And if you really want a night out, you can probably take a tuk-tuk to Long Beach where there are more bars and restaraunts. People say that's the most beautiful beach on Lanta but I think Relax Bay's Prang Ae Beach is the best. The sunset at the beach bar was incredible. I give this place a 5 out of 5. I would definitely come back. If you do stay here and are interested in Elephant Trekking, try Chang Thai Nice Tours. We booked a tour with them at the resort's front desk. You can charge it to your room if you want. This was one of the highlights of our stay here.

Relax Bay is very aptly named. Located on its own lovely secluded bay we found it perfect for a relaxing holiday. Very clean and comfortable bungalows in a beautiful garden setting right on the beach. Clean swimming pool.No hot water however, or TV, radio, phone or other home comforts. Perfect. Good restaurant/bar in traditional Thai style open wooden pavilion, great staff with good English. Highly recommended.

The resort was beautiful. we had been spoilt in Bangkok by staying in a 5star hotel and as such the air-conditioned bungalow was not that flash, i would recommend one of the ceiling fan bungalows or beach-front as they have windows that actually open on opposite walls to allow for some natural cross ventilation. Otherwise the facilities were very nice, beautiful breakfast and wonderful beach bar. The staff were great to they were friendly though also non-intrusive.

Relax bay is perfect if you want a few days of peace and relaxation. The beach was great for swimming and the pool also a great place to chill out around. We were a little disappointed with the room and felt it was a little pricey for what you actually got. We are used to back packer places and feel that we have had a better standard of bunglaow for a lower cost in other areas of Thailand. We also booked an air con room and were only able to get a fan room. Our main gripe was that we just didn't feel very welcome during out stay unfortunately. Other people have commented on the pricey breakfast - you have to buy breakfast at relax bay which costs 150 bht pp. However we both felt for what you got it was actually a very good deal and had no issues with the cost. All in all I would say Relax Bay seems to attract families with younger children.

Relax bay is a paradise. Rooms are basic, but the beach/beach bar/restaurant/massage booth is all you'll need. Food and drink were good but a bit pricey. Staff are super friendly and happy to book day trips and boats. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend relax bay for anyone wanting to have a quiet chill out holiday.

If you don't like upmarket or identikit resorts this is the place to go. It has a fantastic setting on it's own stretch of beach. Though the resort was full it didn't feel crowded or touristy. The food in the restaurant was great, the beach bar fantastic and the staff really friendly. The bungalows are basic but good, if you want more luxury opt for the delux ones at the beach front. It also has a lovely pool. It was very kid's friendly which is just what we wanted. Would love to go again in the future.

Very nice resort at secluded bay. We had a bungalow with airco. Indeed initially brownish water from shower as stated before. But every day free bottles of drinking water and clean towels in the room. Breakfast could improve somewhat; limited choice but sufficient. Food quality good to very good: not so cheap. Breakfast is not included in the price of SiameServices. com! Anyhow: we had a very enjoyable stay, friendly and helpful staff, nice massage on the beach, nice beachparty organised by resort. Would go back anytime.

The resort is located on a very nice and quiet beach, which I found is the most beautiful beach in the northern part of koh lanta (the beaches in the south are great too, but a bit far off if you want to do more than just relax). The resort is beautiful and cosy, very friendly staff. They offer motorbike rental, massage (what a pleasure!) and some daytrips, that are slightly more expensive compared to the price you pay if you book the same tour in Ban Saladan. There´s a diving school that arranges wonderful diving and snorkelling trips (try the one to koh rok, it´s amazing). The food is delicious although the prices are in the higher(thai)range. Breakfast is overpriced, but next to the resort is a smaller restaurant and bar where one can go for a change. I would recommend this resort to anybody if there wasn´t this problem with the bed bugs. When we told the staff they didn´t seem very surprised.... they didn´t put much effort other than applying some insect spray which was absolutely useless. It was quite annoying considering the uncountable stings the disgust and the fact that bed bugs can function as carriers of a desease. Hopefully they will get this problem under control, it would be too bad about this lovely resort.
