Had a wonderful stay at Railay Bay. Nearly everything was perfect. The restaurant was our only small complaint. They took our order, my husband got his meal and i sat waiting and didn't get mine AT ALL!! They said they were understaffed and busy, no excuse really.

Room was good. Excellent access to beach, trekking and climbing. Food and waiting staff were below average. Not the usual Thai authenticity I am used to experience. Climbing and trekking were amazing and made up for it. Skip the island hopping tours. A rip off at overcrowded beaches.

Brilliant hotel in the best location. Expensive but worth paying for the comfort. Food is expensive and not really worth what they ask for but the breakfast is very good indeed. The only drawback is the TERRIBLE music they insist on playing every morning. Several request were made by my group to lower the volume or turn off the music but we were not attended to. I m absolutely sure that the majority of the guests would prefer to eat breakfast in silence rather than listen to the same poor thai copy of Richard Clayderman every single day!

Great location at Railay with terrific beach and limestone karst mountains either end of beach.Resort within nice gardens with two swimming pools,one at beach and one in centre of resort.Rooms starting to look a little tired along with bathroom.Excellent breakfast.Check in stood at reception desk 10 minutes before being acknowledged.Observation not criticism but with staff you don't get the usual Thai smile as seen in other tourist areas in Thailand.Overall very good.

I went there to stay for a week after spending a week on Koh Phangan. The scenery is incredible - but its SO busy. We took boat trips to the tiny bays - all were packed with tourists and boats. In one bay alone i counted close to 100 boats! Far to crowded! Hated it. We left after a day and went back to Long Bay resort - quiet and calm.....!

Very good service, except at first the Chief Reservation lady gave us a shock that she couldn't find our reservation. Other than that, the room was good. When the drain was stuck in the bathroom, they immediately came to fix. The transportation was on time with good bell service that wrap plastic around our luggage to avoid getting wet when transport in and out the boat.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing! the service was great always with a smile but the bed frame design was not practical. The resort restaurant proved to be the best seafood compare to the bay side. We booked our transfer trips thru the resort which was best, stress free and cheaper. Pre-book a taxi online is also cheaper from airport to the pier. Check out Joy Beach Bar opposite cheapest (and good)local restaurant call Mom s. ask local they'll know!

Still a great place to stay (we stayed here 2 years ago) although it seemed a bit understaffed during the busy weekend. Restaurant is OK but thay are nicer (and cheaper) restaurants on the east side with a backpackers athmosphere.

Nice place, but terrible service in hotel. Unpleasure staff on brekfast, nobody interesting when was no knife or spon. When something happen with machine for corn flakes staff only stay, look and nothing do. In room was some dirty places, example around basket many insects. In one our room was only 1 umbrella when we arrived, then on check out time reception wont from us money for one more umbrella. Manager and some staff are unhelpfull. Dont recommend this place.

Останавливались на 2 недели, втроем, с ребенком, 2 года.Отличное место для семейного отдыха, для тех, кто устал от шума и цивилизации. Шикарная природа, море, солнце. Заказывали трансфер, туда и обратно - не пожалели, все быстро, четко, без задержек. Отличный отель, приветливый персонал, правда в ресторане персонал чересчур расслабленный, ужинать ходили в соседний Sand Sea Resort. Завтраки разнообразные. Уборка в номерах ежедневная, полотенца новые, простыни меняли, чистили, мыли, всем довольны. Мы жили в номере Double room, раз 5-6 за 2 недели приносили корзинку с фруктами, каждый день 3 бутылки воды, чай, кофе, сахар, сливки. 15 минут медленным шагом до Прананга, от берега до берега 5 минут. Все отлично, вернемся еще!

Lucky us, we choosed the best hotel at Railey Bay, no doubt about that. This is a muslim area. No pork meat here. One of the neighbour hotels did not serve coffee nor alcohol. Very friendly staff and helpful. Breakfast was very good. From the hotel, you can enjoy long walks and view the sun setting. The beach is full of people all day long. Transport provided to the hotel and it was quite an experience, first a comfortable van brings to the shore and then a 15 minutes travel by boat and a buggy brings you to the hotel from the shore within 5 minutes. Its worth staying at Railay Bay Resort.

We were utterly delighted with our stay at the Railay Bay Resort and Spa. Having stayed at a neighbouring hotel earlier in the year we felt that the Railay Bay was definitely worth paying a little extra for. All the staff were completely charming and extremely helpful at all times, but especially when our daughter had to be taken to hospital during our stay. They accompanied us by boat and van to the hospital at 11.00 at night, and sent a very kind and helpful representative to be with us the next day to help with any language problems etc. They were so kind to our daughter, even giving her a basket of fruit and flowers to welcome her back to the hotel afterwards, which she was very touched by. Lovely rooms, perfect location, good food, two very pleasant pools one busy by the beach and the other more secluded and much quieter within the grounds. We would definitely choose this hotel again. Only slight criticism was the endless very loud, repetitive Christmas piped music which was played at the restaurant area for the few days up to and until the extraordinary Christmas Eve gala dinner, but blessedly it stopped in time for Christmas Day when peace and tranquility was restored!

Good room - but that is because we upgraded to a private cottage. The deluxe is a basic cottage. Service at the hotel is good but the restaurant needs to become more organised (as do pretty much all restaurants in Thailand). Orders getting mixed up, different waitress at the same table, same course meals arriving at different times etc etc.

If your going to Railay beach you really should stay here! The other options are either shabby or overpriced! This is a very family and couples friendly resort. And this IS a resort, not just a hotel! Its front pool is superbly located by the west beach and has one of the better restaurants at railay. The staff is service minded and we stayed at a privacy cottage which we reccomend highly!

We stayed here with 3 kids (3,6 & 11y)and found the place grate! We have rarely seen such a stunning beautiful scenery and grate beaches. We had very nice connecting rooms although we needed to walk 5 minutes to the restaurant / pool / beach at Railay West. The hotel is on west, but our room was 100m from the east beach. The only shortcoming is the breakfast, which had too few selections. All staff was very nice & helpful. When you arrive at Railay East - which is just 10 min by boat and safer as waves are lower just go to the security guy and he will call a buggy from Railay to get you and your luggage easily to the reception at Railay west.

Прикалывает процедура загрузки в сей транспорт: снимаешь обувь, закатываешь штанишки, берешь поклажу и переждав волну быстренько лезешь через борт лодчонки. По неопытности в первый раз были мокрые по самое «не балуйся». Потом попривыкли и уже можем показывать мастер-класс. Выгрузка в обратном порядке и чемоданчик волоком по песку. Разместили быстро. На машинке довезли до номера – отдельно стоящее бунгало. Номер очень даже приличный. Большой по размеру. Кровать – можно спать всей семьей. Ванна + душ. В наличии холодильник, сейф, кондиционер, телевизор плазма, DVD, мини-бар с соками, водой, чипсами и шоколадками, чайник на 1,5 литра, набор стаканов и чашек, пакетики с чаем, кофе, сахаром, сливками, 2 зонта, фонарик, пляжная сумка с огромной пляжной подстилкой в комплекте, 2 халата, 2 пары тапочек, мыльно-рыльные принадлежности и даже зубные щетки. И что порадовало - 3 бутылки воды по 0,6 л каждый день бесплатно. Даже если вешаешь табличку «Не беспокоить» - воду и туалетную бумагу оставляют на террасочке около номера. Ничего не протекает, не сломано, не треснуто. Живность отсутствует. Вода горячая и холодная без перебоев была всегда. И еще понравилось, что нет ощущения обшарпанности в номере. Все чистенькое, аккуратненькое, не коцанное. В день приезда на столе стояла корзиночка с фруктами (бананы, виноград, мандарины) с цветком орхидеи. В отеле присутствует бесплатный интернет. Wi-Fi ловит на ресепшене метров на 30 в радиусе. Пароль и логин выдают тут же, действует 3 суток, потом обновляют. Завтраки в отеле однотипные каждый день, но голодным не останешься. В наличии всегда были: сосиски, яичница в разных вариациях, рис, фасоль в томатном соусе, что-то из местной кухни, молоко, йогурт, 3 вида хлопьев, овощи, фруктовый салат, выпечка, и 4-5 видов фруктов. Обед и ужин мы заказывали в нашем же ресторане и нам все нравилось. В обед в основном брали супы и салаты. Пробовали пиццу, вполне приличная. На ужин - блюда на гриле. Очень вкусная рыба. Еще вкусные шпажки, на них нанизывают вперемежку с овощами – курицу, мясо или рыбу с морепродуктами. Кому что больше нравится. К блюдам, заказанным на гриле прилагается бесплатный салат-бар. Пробовали и кальмаров и креветок. Все очень вкусно. Обед в среднем обходился около 500-600 бат на двоих, без спиртного. Ужин от 600 до 900 бат с пивом. Контингент в отеле иностранный, русских нет, или почти нет. Очень много семейных пар с мелкими детьми. Все тихие, спокойные, уважительные. И сам отель тихий. Нет никакой анимации – полный релакс. Торговцы не назойливые, не пристают. Вокруг красивейшие скалы. Бассейн в отеле не большой, но уютный, слегка затенен деревьями. Есть еще один бассейн в глубине отеля, но он всегда пустует. Около первого бассейна находится СПА-салон. Массажи там классные. Буквально в 1 км. от отеля находится пляж Прананг. Других туристов туда возят за денежки, а мы бесплатно через день ходили. На этом пляже есть грот Индийской принцессы. Необычное местечко. Весь грот завален фигурками фаллической формы. А вот над гротом скала просто необычайной красоты. А еще там живет стайка наглющих обезьян.

Amazing resort & island. Mountain climbing, snorkling, jogging, all in one. (Isolated as well). One tip. You can travel for 650 Thai B from Phuket Airport +- 3 hours to Railay Bay. Search on this website. Phuket to Railay Bay. Minibus, Ferry, Longtail. We took the long way. To Phi Phi wait 4 hours and then to Krabi & then we had to pay 1000B for long tail, but it was fun as well. I would recommend this resort. Friends told us about it as well. Amazing!!

We arrived Krabi Airport the 10-Feb-2010 early in the morning and have arranged transfer to the Resort and one of the staff from Railay Bay Resort picked us up and drove us to the Pier,were another staff by longtailboat sailed us direct to the Resort.We have booked a private cottage and it was very nice and quiet.Everything was perfect,we liked our stay in Railay Bay Resort very much.The staff was alvays friendly and smiling and it helps to be a extra good stay.We asked for a longer stay but it was not possible because there was full booked,it seem to bee full booked every day.Sorry,we could´t stay.We can very much recommend Ralay Bay Resort.The Resort has arranged a beachparty on the 15-Feb-2010 because of The New Year in China and for Valentines Day, it was very nice evening,with good food and entertainment and the 16-Feb-2010 the have also arranged a beachparty for Sea Food.Very nice.The staff has made a very nice decoration for both nights. the deluxe cottae is really good. it smelled not nice in the bathroom though. the place is beautiful though crowded. overall, I wouldnt recommend to go to Railey as the service in all places is a nightmare. in Tropical resort hotel restaurant the waiter just gave us a pile of plates into our hands to put them ourselves on the table . in Railey Bay resort restaurant you would have to wait for your food and meal for about 30-40 minutes. the dirty plates are putaway only once you ve finished and left. Never get the girl-waiter Rainny she's the worst . She would get your order and forget about it. once we were waiting for our fish for 45 minutes then we finally found another waiter and asked where our fish was and saw that this girl ran to the cooks with our raw fish . so we had to wait another30 minutes. but service is all bad in Railey so it doesnt matter where you eat. at least Railey bay resort restaurant has delicious food while the hotel restaurants are really bad. the water is not so clear as in Phi Phi and Lanta. the swimming pool stinks of detergents and chemicals strongly and the pools are small. the sunbeds are few near the beach pool and I think it's a policy or something not to have any umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach so you have to lie on your wet towels.

The only complaint is that the basic bungalows are actually on the east part of Raily - meaning a 5 minute stroll to the west part (where the reception and resturant are).

Decent family hotel in wonderful surroundings. The beach and pool is perfect and you can go on short excursions with your kids to caves, rock climbing and wonderful beaches. Also canooing available. We can think of returning for the third time with our three boys aged 2, 5 and 8. The triple room is ok for us for the time being. But as the the youngest get older it will be more difficult with space. No shops and very few restaurants in the area.

Fairly friendly hotel staff (reception and bell staff were nice, Discovery Center people could ve been a little more friendly), good food, nice location...we started out in the Deluxe Double room which was ok. It was a bit outdated, dirty spots on the walls and mold on the lamp shade. We switched to the Railay Suite Cottage, which was much nicer, but a bit more expensive. The electricity also went out a few times the first night, but came back on within ten minutes. Overall, I would consider going back.

Railay Bay Resort & Spa is a fantastic hotel located on Railay West, nice quiet & chilled location. We stayed in a deluxe room which has its own balcony with partial sea view. We stayed at the end end of April in low season so there were plenty of sun beds and always tables in the restaurant. The restaurant in the hotel has a good selection of meals and all of the bar drinks seems to be reasonably priced. We would recommend the pizza's they were delicious! Breakfast buffet was a bit basic, we went for breakfast once and didn't bother again. We got there for about 9.30 and all that was left was a small scraping of egg that looked as though it has been sitting for a while and not much else. The fruit and bread was all uncovered so had flies all over it which again didn't really tempt us. If there is a rate without breakfast maybe go got that and pop down to one of the other restaurants for something fresh. A few mins walk along the beach and you will find other places to eat and drink. Bobo's Bar in the evening has a bit of music and a good cocktail list. The Spa at Railay Bay also seems to be reasonably priced compared to other placed we stayed, 90 min Thai massage for 850Baht, 90 minutes well spent.

This hotel is set on a gorgeous beach in a really enviable location- the staff were reasonably nice.. we stayed in a privacy cottage which was very nice- jacuzzi was fabulous- but overall i felt the hotel was halfhearted in its design- the bathroom literally looked like the builders had given up half way through, cement and peeling paintwork and no air con so it was very hot (and toilet paper in room made it smell eventually too), the glass door of the shower fell off the hinges when we touched it and I did feel it let the rest of the accommodation down as there were lots of little things that cheapened it (like disposable tissues instead of toilet roll). The breakfast and restaurant were so so, all in all it's definitely a 3 star hotel in a 5 star location... I would definitely stay here again as it's in a fab location- the best in Railay apart from Rayavadee- but just don't set your hopes too high...

We stayed in Raylay bay resort in october for 4 nights in Deluxe room triple. We lived in the closest house to the West beach on the second floor. The room was very spacious with wonderful balcony to the garden and very big beautiful bathroom. There were no problems with staff and we ve liked restaurant staff. They were very smiling and even studied us how to say some Thai words.)) Breakfast is excellent. We ate europian cuisine and they ve cooked very tasty ommelettes on one's order. There are lots of different buns and rolls and plenty of different exotic fruit. Hotel has two swimming pools. The first one has a stunning view to Western beach, second is in quiet deeps of territory where we ve enjoyed silence and views to the mountains. Hotel has very comfortable situation on the Railay bay. It is in the middle of the peninsula and one can go the western and eastern beachs. You can examine all the territory of Railay for one day. It is the only place where you can try climbing in the mountains. Also we traveled to islands and enjoyed our fantastic western beach. In the period of our travel there are not so much tourists that's why beach rather empty and quiet. We are very happy that we ve chosen this hotel and we'll return here once more time.

Hotel was great staff were friendly and the beach was wonderful. However the only thing that really put us off was the amount of under 5year old kids that were there with their parents. If we had known would not have gone. Also the number of very load long tail boats coming and going made it impossible to have a quiet relaxing stay on the beach. Food was just average and breakfast was not much better. If you want a holiday with screaming kids and average food and a great bech then this is for you. If you want relaxing quiet then not the place to go.

First i would like to say that is was not more than 40m2 in that cottage. and the jacuzzi was a joke. Very small and not nice at all. The bathroom cleraly needed a fix up as well. Very high price and I will not give this more than a 2 star. The food in the resaturant was good, but the service was bad. You had to wait for a really long time...will not recommend this place.

Railay Bay was our last stop after a 3 week holiday in and around Thailand. We therefore had a few other hotels and places to compare it against. Whilst this hotel is situated in one of, if not the, most beautiful locations in Thailand, the hotel itself does not deserve its four star status. The service, from the reception, waiters in the restaurant, masseurs in the spa, to the general staff throughout the resort, was appalling. The only man who smiled and bothered to greet us or assist us with requests/queries was the man who carried our luggage to and from the resort. What a lovely gentlemen. As for the rest, appalling. The restaurant ran out of food only one hour into serving dinner, the waiters barely grunted a greeting or a response when asked a question (if you could find a waiter at all), once the food eventually did arrive, all the ordered meals were incorrect. After trying two meals there, we then moved to external restaurants which were significantly better and much cheaper. Although our private cottage looked lovely, the bed was terribly uncomfortable - it felt like sleeping on concrete - and there was a terrible smell from the drains in the bathroom which no one could address despite many requests. This permeated the room and made it quite unpleasant. The spa staff were unbelievably rude and made one feel as if they were doing you a favour and couldn't wait for you to leave. Instead of a nice relaxing massage, you were made to feel as if it was an inconvenience and that it was being rushed through. The massages by the beach vendors were streaks ahead. It is unlikely that we will stay at Railay Bay again. The service and facilities are not commensurate with the price of the hotel or the four stars allocated to it in any way. It is definitely not a hotel where you feel like you got what you paid for. You feel chated. Railay Bay could learn a few lessons from its neighbouring resorts.

The pace is nice (beautiful hills and sand beach). The hotel is pleasant but the restaurants in the area are not always good. Some are relatively expansive and with a very limited choice. The restaurant of the hotel was a good choice. Other places at Railay East were interesting. The hotel is mostly occupied by families with very young children.

Not only could they not understand simple English, they were not friendly or service orientated. My room aircon was leaking n a technician came and kept leering at me. Took them 45mins to retrieve bags from our room when we checked out. A guy lost his bag in the restaurant n the waiter kept saying it had nothing to do with him n didn't redirect him to the proper person. Stay there for the place n do not hold high expectations for the service!

Beautiful location but beware that Railay West beach gets very crowded with day trippers. Try to go to Phranang Beach early in the morning before l0 am when the longtail boats from Ao Nang start to arrive. Service at the Railay Bay is a bit hit and miss, especially in the restaurant. Although, food was good and reasonably priced. We had a Suite which is very spacious and close to restaurant, pool and beach but not very private. We think the privacy cottage is better value and gives just as much space but complete privacy. Our son had a superior room which is quite basic. Overall we feel that the Railay Bay Resort is overpriced and we would not go back.

The hotel staff is not that proficient in English but communication was not an issue for this. Great spa and ok b-fast. I was charged for 2 people booking the tranfer instead of 1- only complaint.

Just got further on to Lanta now and regarding Railay bay we have just good feedback. very nice personnel, nice surroundings, breakfast average, lacked some variety, beach good, low tide means more rocks on the bottom to care for, food good, their hot pan very nice, good spicy food if wanted, room is very roomy but had a few remarks on smell from fungus. Overall 4.4 of 5 points.

My daughter and I stayed 5 nights at the resort and loved it!! The privacy cottage was lovely, the staff were always helpful and the setting is delightful! The pool area is great, right in the front of the ocean! Would loved to have had real bacon for breakfast though! Will definitely return! Just such a beatiful place...peaceful but not boring!

Railay is a isolated area which can only be accessed by taxi boat. The resort overall is three star level but the privacy cottage is nice. With bonus night (buy 3 pay 2), I think the price is reasonable. Otherwise, it is over priced. The resteraunt is not very clean and breakfast is below average.

We had a triple room for my son, daughter and myself. The room was spacious and clean with a large bathroom and balcony. Breakfast plentiful but could have been more varied as the same every day. The resort is well placed on the beautiful West beach with access to the East beach (which is a more basic area used mostly by travellers as the accomodation is more basic and cheaper) via by a path through the resort which also takes you to another beautiful beach when the tide is out. Well worth finding! The staff were friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Point worth considering is access is only by boat and would recommend that you have the hotel pick you up. The charge is 1.200 th bt(around £20) per party of up to 7 people. We did not on the way there and paid 500Th bt taxi to the boats then 100 th bt each on the boat but had to walk down a steep path littered with glass unaided and then wade through the water to the boat carrying luggage above waist height! Not an easy task with a suitcase!! Again to reach beach at other end! Naturally we used hotel transport back to airport which was excellent! I would not hesitate use this hotel again.

great hotel at great location. we enjoy our stay very much and would stay more if we could. the rooms are very big and lovely. the beach is great. the staff very nice and helpfull. but you sould contact the hotel before ariving, to make you transport to the hotel easyer.

Fantastic hotel. We got the privacy cottage, which was beautiful and spacious. The outdoor jacuzzi was a real treat. Great service, right from the moment we stepped off the boat. The only regret we have is that we didn't stay here longer.

Friendly service and reception staff speaks basic english. Had slight problems with room service though but still managed to get the correct food. Room service food was below expectations and would not recommend ordering from room service.. Nearby restaurants offer better quality and value for money.. Room was clean and spacious, definately worth paying for the privacy suite.. Back to nature experience hearing crickets and toads in ur own garden with a lil fish pond.. Not for those who can't stand worms that come out during the rain.. Lovely outdoor jaccuzi and shower.. Would come back for sure..
