The bungalow was of high standard, however, far away from the reception. You have to be a good walker without any knee problems to enjoy the place. DVD-player in the room, however a mini piece of soap! The view from the hotelcompound (not the bungalow) was out of this world. Also our breakfast at the sandy beach.

The resort was beautiful, and we really enjoyed ourselves. My only complaint would be that we asked far in advance for an ocean view and were placed in the very back row of rooms furthest away from the water. It's also a LOT of walking. So for anyone with physical limitations, I would not recommend staying here. But for an incredibly picturesque visit with breakfast on the beach each morning, this is the place for you.

Very beautiful location on the hill, greatest view from the window. Very quite place for the vacation located in pedestrian accessibility from Phi Phi village and all shops, restraints and other places. Very helpful staff but they have poor English skills. Beach of the hotel is not convenient for swimming and lying on the sun because of the garbage coming from sea water of the bay available for the ships.

Getting to Phi Phi island was a refreshing change from the hussle of Patong, and Araya Buri offered an extra level of peace and quiet being a 5 minute walk away from the main strip of Phi Phi. The room was nice, aircon was great, the outlook was loveley, and our two days here were just paradise... but i think much of that is thanks to Phi Phi Island itself. Honestly we spent most time out and about, and less time in the hotel - so having a comfy bed and good aircon was more than enough to please us.

Very disappointing! We were surprised to find that the Araya Buri hotel is co-operated with Bay View hotel sharing together the same lobby & reception, pool, etc. The service was terrible! The staff never smiled and kept refusing to whatever we asked. Our reservation was for Araya Grand Deluxe Villa with double bed, yet we got a twin-bed room with a connecting door to another adjacent room, though with no privacy at all. The staff at the reception refused to change the room, false claiming that the hotel is fully booked. There is no possibility to get an outside telephone line at the room. When we asked to make a local toll free call at the reception, they lied at our faces saying that the line is dead. On other occasion they even refused to just send a postcard for us. They also refused to check the possibility for a little late check-out we asked for, even though they knew that the only ferry to our next destination arrives in the afternoon. The hotel is located quite far from the island center with no paved way. As a result, one cannot avoid bringing sand and dirt into the room. We will definitely never return to Araya Buri hotel. Keep away from this hotel, if you don’t want to spoil your vacation!

The hotel itself was fine however I had a bad experience with the transfer to Railay Beach because the hotel booked us onto a service that went via Krabi rather than direct to where I wanted to go. The journey was a disaster, took over three hours (normally 1.5 hrs), took us to an agenicy who tried to sell us accomodation that we did not need, and I finally had to pay the last part of the journey myself. This experience ruined what would otherwise have been a nice stay at this hotel.

Nice to walk around, one beach after the other(opposite side of Tonsai, towards longbeach). Monkey Beach and Maya Beach very close. Surely recommendable hotel.

When you ve just arrived it seems a long walk to the hotel (we arrived in the afternoon, low water, so the bags went with the boat) After a day or two, we discovered that the island is actually very small, so everything is very near, just 15 min. walk. Good hotel, very nice, friendly personel! We gave for every bag 30 bath for bringing them to the chalet, as our room was located at the end of the resort. The hills to the rooms was very steep. We re glad that our hotel is at the end of the center of PhiPhi, as the music of all bars and restaurants are very loud.

Enjoyed our stay at Arayaburi. Room spacious with good balcony but not much view as we were right by forest at top of resort. Had a long walk each time from restaurant and beach, not for the idle, and quite tired by the time we reached our room, but at least we felt fitter by the time we left. Didn't eat in restaurant at night as it was quite expensive and quiet, so went into village and ate cheaply there. Had good breakfasts though. Couldn't fault it, and was worried after reading reviews on trip adviser, We are ladies in our 50's but loved Phi Phi and would stay at Arayaburi again but would request a room lower down with less of a hike to our room.

Room was good and we had great views from the balcony, but to get to the room was quite a journey because of the distance to the reception and the steep hills. Food and drinks in the restaurant were very good. Beach was nice but with a lot of rocks. Unfortunately the beach was the only way to get there. Staff was very friendly and helpfull.

This hotel is run by those at Bay View, and poorly too. While we found the hotel ok and we were able to check in early, our room (and linen) was was dirty and smelly. Further, the bathroom was ferral with some slapped on perspex over the shower as a room - with plenty of room of the very hungry mozzies to come in each night. Breakfast was of a very poor standard with cats and dogs roaming around the tables each morning. Would never go again.

Hotel is located in a quiet part of Phi Phi and was very enjoyable. The restaurant served delicious meals, the staff friendly and all in all very nice. The room/bungalow was perfect for our needs. It was clean and comfortable and had a great view and very quick access to the beach. My only concern (and this is typical not only this resort) is that litter is not picked up quickly or at all. I suppose this is also a function of the guests that stay there and think disposing of garbage on the grounds is acceptable.

The hotel (bungalow) is very good situated. We had a de luxe grand sea view with a beautiful wiew to the water and the mountains on the westside of Phi Phi Don. The room was not clean. The outlet from the shower was out af function, the door on the right side to the balkon could nt be opened etc. There were no furniture in the room. The staff was very tired and didn't want to do too much. The bungalow needs to be repared all over. The price (THBT 4.950 per night)is too high for the quality. I would not go there again.

Absolutely gorgeous views!! The resort is very pleasant - it's not luxurious, but very comfortable and the most superb views from the Arayaburi bungalows. The breakfast in the restaurant was great. accueil en long tail sur le port et bungalows tout confort - calme et un peu à l écart du village nécessitant 5 à 10 minutes de marche pour atteindre ce dernier ce qui permet d être au calme si on le désire tout en pouvant se rendre dans la partie animée de l île le soir sans avoir à prendre le bateau - les prestations sont en rapport avec le prix - personnel très agréable - petit dej correct - je n ai pas testé le resto - n hésitez pas à réserver votre long tail sur le port (et non pas sur la plage de l hotel), les prix y sont parfois plus intéressants et vous y rencontrerez parfois des personnages étonnants qui vous ferons découvrir l île d une façon un peu moins touristique et donc donc beaucoup plus sauvage et agréable.

Visited post Tsunami and could not believe that anyone could complain about this resort. The beach is above average and there are amazing beaches within walking distance. The price is right, the scenery is beautiful, and the service was excellent. My wife and I do not like alot of bother and asked very little of the staff. Still what we did ask for was arranged quickly and we have no complaints about our stay. We will be back. Check the ferry schedule before you book a room so you don't lose a day on your reservations.

The rooms are fine if you like snakes in your room, but walking to your room from reception is about 1 km if you stay in the centre of the resort. You have to walk that distance everytime you want to go to the restaurant or the town. June/July is very hot and unpleasant. Please make sure that you do not use the transport from Phuket airport that is being organised by the Hotel or their transfer Company. It is excessively expensive and it is only one way. The driver also make sure that he takes you to all the shops where he gets commission to bring tourists. Your own needs are not being taken into account. The price is $140.00 for 4 people, as opposed to $65.00 for 4 people when you organise it yourself from the Pier. The Hotel gives a hoot about you getting back! They have the attitude that it is your own problem to find a boat for the return trip.

Excellent location in Koh Phi Phi, nice clean rooms, but very steep hill for people that do not like climbing to their bedroom.

Stayed here for 2 nights. A good location,just a few minutes walk to the center of phi phi. Bungalowes lying on a top. a little walk up a steep hill, but they had a car so they both drove you up with your bags and pick you up when you are leaving. Nice rooms with a big balcony with sunbeds. i didn't like the bathroom. The glass sealing over the shower was leaking and looked not nice. A nice restaurant with a good breakfast.

Booking service at siamwebhosting is excellent. i have used it 6 times and there have never been problems. you pay before you leave, and no trouble when checking in.

My wife and I stood 5 night in Araya Buri Resort in March 2007. We had a Deluxe room. The room was big and clean. The Staff you had to find, and the taxi shuttle to bring you to your hut was never available. The beach in front of the resort is not the best on PHi Phi, but by 5 minutes walk you will be at Long beach, which is really nice.

This hotel would have been perfect if it weren't for the shocking service we received upon arrival. Despite booking and paying the full amount for 2 rooms over 1 month prior to arrival we were told by the lady in charge at the front desk when we arrived that the hotel is overbooked and that the 4 of us should share 1 room instead. They planned on compensating us for this major inconvenience by offering us a free dinner in the hotel restaurant. After putting up somewhat of a fight at reception we were given our two rooms that we booked but only with great attitude and it felt as if the hotel was doing us a favour. One really does not need to go through something like this whilst on vacation, it is a real mood dampener. This experience was a real pity considering the rooms are excellent with great views and the resort is perfectly located on beautiful phi phi. Overall not worth the risk as your reservation may just be given away for no apparent reason. Rather look elsewhere on Phi Phi.

About 15-20 mins walk from the centre of town. A few nice beaches 5-10 mins from your room. Room was nice but the water was slightly brownish some days.

the rooms are okei, but the serice not so good. they were out of towels for several days, and it was a long way to go from the reseption to the bungalow. the beach outside the resort is not good. stoney and little bit dirty. not impressed.
