Absolutely fabulous place! Small private cove, great swimming and snorkelling. Food excellent at restuarant on the beach, and diningroom. Management and staff were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. Would return and spend a longer period there. The diving was also excellent with a very competent and helpful dive team. overall just fabulous!

This is a great spot on Ko Tao. Rooms are good, food is great, lots of ambience with bar on the beach. Great spot to relax for a couple of days and good for snorkelling if the sea plays along.

My family and I had a truely wonderful time. The 10 days were too short. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent, especially the local dishes. It won't be everyone's cup of tea though. Facilities and roads are quite basic and it all runs to Thai time. If you want European standards, stay in Europe. If you can be relaxed, you can't do better at these prices. Diving is good and Neil, who runs the dive show, is very helpful and has outstanding instructors.

very great location, quiet in the unhabitant part of island, the road is very up and down on a very dirty road track, you need a 4X4 to go there about 4km from the pier, but great seesight when you are on top of the hill; our bungalow was great, on the hill with sea view and little terrace, good bed, fan, but a very small bathroom, with very dangerous stairs, very slippy. the restaurant is quite good but not at the level of the hotel, and expensive. the bar on the beach is great. But bad point the staff is very up and down. I went there to dive on shark island, but in 4 days impossible to find the staff of diving and to book a dive. the hotel taxi to pier is 100bth/way/pers and just 2 (8h30-13h30) hour to town, just incredible sometime 8pers on, THey make money with! an outside taxi is 300bth, and no other solution to go outside. that's a problem, you have to eat at the hotel or to take a night taxi from town, so much expensive. we had a problem with some staff, they didn't make our room in 2 days they wait the 3 when we took the taxi to the pier. but no chance i put my padlock on the door, before taking the taxi i saw 2 guys trying to open it with many keys and after a moment open it. I run and ask the taxi to wait me, and go to see this men who had open my room. Very furious i want an explication and how they opened the door. they asked me that they are here to make the room, and they had open the door with a key they didn't found. I aswer what a joke, if i put my padlock i have reason, and you don't have material (towel etc...) to do the room. So i close the door with my padlock and go to town. When i came back, what a surprise, the room is lock, not my padlock i have the key, but the door, and the key is inside. i go to reception very furious, to see what happen, i explain the situation sure with bad english, i was furious!!, they made like they don't understand and made exuses sorry to clean the room Sir. i answer But how you had open my padlock, and why you came twice and lock the door, why you came with no material? Sorry to clean the room Sir, we think that you leave the hotel. I aswer stop playing my T-Shirt and my short are outside to take sun. It's not a good explication. Sorry Sir to clean the room. Ok, they give me a new key, so i go back in the bungalow. The room wasn't clean, just new bottle of water. no i m sure they came twice, new bottle, the door lock it's not me or my girl friend. We did a check up of our stuff nothing miss. But we leave this Hotel the morning after. To strange for me, and i don't looking for problem like this. TO resume great location, nice room, bad staff, expensive restaurant, and far from town. Good to relax and do nothing but take care to your stuff, and the bill if you put your order on it. It's not my case i always pay cash after order, but they tried to play with some order i didn't made on bar (it's impossible to have a ticket), no chance me and my girl friend always write what we order in a little note book. I don't like this, we go away, fuck the place was great.

The location is pleasant but not easy to reach; Once there you are a little trapped. So the day free was spent on a boat for snorkeling. The restaurant is average and the welcome a little abrupt.

A room was ok, although it was a bit warm!! The beach is not only for hotel guests, but also some come from somewhere for visit as a day trip. It is not really silent beach.

The hotel is located in a beautiful cove. the Island Hut are simple and comfortable, but the cleanliness is poor. The musty beds and fans are too low. Nice restaurant, menus correct, very nice beach bar. Taxi to the city essential in view of road conditions, but pays off! Rental fee of masks and snorkels which is a little aberration. Dive club very professional and friendly dive in small groups.

Coral View Resort was absolutely wonderful! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, it was a family atmosphere throughout the resort. When we got on the ferry to Koh Tao, they came and picked us up, even though we had not asked for it before. Just felt very welcoming. The beach was incredibly beautiful and the coral reef some way out entertained both children and adults throughout their stay. We are already planning to go back there next winter. I can warmly recommend Coral View Resort to anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful holiday.

This resort was so lovely and we d definitely stay there again. one of the nicest beaches on koh tao, extremely friendly and helpful staff and a fantastic dive course. If you want peace and quiet, you'll love this place. Taxis into town take about 15 minutes and cost 4-500 baht on average. If you take Coral View's taxi (twice a day) it's 100 baht each. If you want to party every night then you'll have to pay a bit to get in and out of town, so bear that in mind. Loved it here!!!

I m not recomend this hotel. Rooms are dirty and very, very, very used. Located on beautifull beach but very far from civilization. Transfer goes to town 2 times only. In 8:30 and 1:30 p.m. Latest return in 3 p.m. back. Forget about shopping and night life. Road to hotel is !!extremly!! dangerous even in dry weather, even when you using quadro ATW. That is why you can't fint bike or ATW rent in hotel. Beach is beautifull but not comfort. Lot of stones and corals on the bottom. Staff is not friendly. Save the bills from restoran. Otherwise will be surprised on check-out. Prices in two restorans are normal.

I ve stayed in a Mediteranean villa for 3 nights and have suffered a 1h power outage the first day and a water shortage the second day morning. The bathroom is a bit shaby and could be improved. Free pick-up at pier but be ready to wait a little before going to the resort as they do some shopping for the restaurant before going to the resort.. The place and the view from the bungalows are very nice. Good cocktails at a good price during happy hour at the beach bar. The beach is very nice and is a good snorkeling spot. Small sharks may be encountered in the early morning. The close Shark Island is a very good snorkeling spot, easily accessible by kayak or during the day snorkeling tour.

The location is great in terms of views. It is very serene and the staff were all lovely. Is not ideal if want to get to the main town (sairee) as it is quite difficult to get to. However they do provide taxis to and from sairee twice a day at 100 baht each way, which is a good price for travel on koh Tao. The room was good only problem was sewerage smell came from the bathroom and made the room pong.

Un bon souvenir malgré tous les cucumbers dans l eau.L hotel est reculé , d accés difficile et sommaire mais agréable dans l ensemble (qualité/prix).La chambre était un peu juste à 4 et le 4éme couchage très sommaire (une natte à poser par terre): on's est adapté en mettant 1 des matelas à terre. Le restau est moyen et il vaut mieux aller manger et petit déjeuner dans le restaurant sur la plage a droite du coral.(meilleur et moins cher). Shark island en face , superbe et avons vu un beau requin(ils sont inoffensifs) en nageant à 150 m du bord. Très bon snorkeling de base sans se déplacer de l hotel. La plage est sympa (type robinson ) , il y a toutefois beaucoup de coraux (attention les pieds surtout avec les enfants)? Pour le prix cela vaut le coup mais pas besoin d y rester + de 4 jours. Avons ensuite séjourné au Sensi toujours à Koh tao + agréable mais plus cher! Rien n est parfait .

A must stay resort if you are in Koh Tao. I was travelling on a budget and managed to be able to stay on the most beautiful beach, in absaloute paradise for very little cost. Staff were friendly and I left feeling really lucky to have chosen such an incredible place to stay.

Tauchen mit den Coral-View-Divers ist sehr zu empfehlen, da nur in Kleinstgruppen getaucht wird. Dive-Guide Jo vermittelt viel Spaß und kennt sich mit den Lebewesen unter Wasser gut aus.

The hotel owners (Thai woman, German man) were very nice and helpful. They helped us rent a car and get boat tickets and gave advice on the island. We had a wonderful steamed fish dinner at the hotel. Good spot for sunsets. The room was clean and pleasant (we stayed in the most basic room). The bed was typical Thai in that it was really, really hard. But we ran into this at other hotels on Koh Tao. A quieter side of the island,and much appreciated.

Wir waren für 3 Nächte dort, im linken Gebäude, oberstes Stockwerk. Das Zimmer war nicht sauber. Die Fußabstreifer hatten mindestens 10 Jahre auf dem Buckel und so sah auch der Rest des Zimmers aus. Wir hatten Luxus Zimmer gebucht. Zu teuer, zu alt, zu unfreundliches Personal, unser Zimmer wurde 3 Tage lang nicht geputzt und auch keine Betten gemacht. Die Bucht selbst ist optimal zum Schnorcheln, hatten sogar einen Hai gesehen. Der Weg zum Hotel eine Katastrophe, mit einem Roller nur schwer zu machen. Wir können es überhaupt nicht empfehlen.

Jättevackert, trivsamt ställe, man får mycket för pengarna! Hjälpsam, vänlig personal, god mat. Beroende på vinden blåste det in skräp på stranden de flesta dagar men personalen rensade så gott det gick. Ett rev börjar några meter ut i vattnet så snorkel är ett måste! Coral View resort was in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful part of the island. My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely and wished that we had booked more nights there than we had. If there was one thing we would have enjoyed it would have been air conditioning in the bungalows but we were still comfortable enough without them for most of the day. Also, having to pay for internet at a resort continues to be baffling in this age of free WiFi everywhere else in the planet. But this is a problem all throughout Thailand not just here.

Un des hôtels les plus sympas, et de loin, de sa catégorie : localisation sur une belle plage, environnement agréable, la carte postale classique de plage paradisiaque loin du disneyland de mae haad et sairee beach... Mais tout n est pas parfait notamment en famille avec des jeunes enfants : à 4, on se retrouve obligatoirement dans le nouveau batiment avec des chambres petites et sans ame finalement assez chères vu que Le pdj n est pas donné non plus... (190 baths / personne pour un café, une crepe et 2 oeufs avec 2 toasts ! En France ça fait rigoler mais en Thailande c est cher !) Pour le snorkeling, la plage est bien mais pour les enfants, ce n est pas top : coraux partout et quasi impossible de se baigner à marée basse. Autant le savoir... Centre de plongée : trés bien et trés pro ; bons tarifs. le resto : belle vue mais cuisine bof ; le resto du new paradise hut sur la même plage est bien meilleur et plus sympa. l accueil : au coral on aime bien l argent et ça se voit ! En résumé, on a pas vraiment aimé ni le coral view resort et encore moins Koh Tao qui est devenu une usine à touriste comme les iles d à côté.

Gorgeous hotel with great beach, but a bit too much coral. Not close to the main town Mae Haad but we just wanted to relax for a couple of days which it was perfect for.Cost a bit to get in to town and only 4x4 travel to get too and from hotel. Really nice family run place with variety of food. Only thing is our fan didnt work properly so it didnt move but its quite breezy there because right next to the beach, so it wasnt too hot at night.

Avons séjouné 6 nuits dans une chambre pour 4 en juillet 2008 ! Joli petit resort dans un petit coin de paradis.La route d accés est dèjà une aventure !! Avions une chambre devant la plage , sympa !!Par contre le lit supplémentaire pour une de nos filles était juste une petite paillasse , impossible de dormir à même le sol !! Nous avons donc pris le matelas du petit lit et notre autre fille a dormi sur le sommier . Petit restaurant en hauteur avec un service correct pour le prix .Pour le petit déjeuner , il y a un autre petit hotel en bord de plage ou on peut dejeuner, manger sur la plage : conseillé pour le petit déjeuner surtout avec les enfants. Tres belle vue sur Sharks island . La plage est petite mais correcte. Par contre , c est une plage de corail donc attention les coupures: bien pour aller snorkeller mais pas pour les enfants ou les nageurs moyens. En plus lorsque nous y etions il y avait pleins de concombre des mers ( sorte de ge gros gros vers ) qui déplaisaient fortement aux enfants et à ma femme et nuisent à la baignade. Grosse colonie de requins ( pas dangereux) dés 300 metres de nages , alors bonjour le pied quand vous en voyez un prés de vous. Club de plongée sur place ( parlent français / anglais ). Dans l ensemble , c est un bon resort pour le prix modeste.Restau correct sans plus. Trés bien pour les fonds et les poissons. Déconseillé pour le seul farniente ou les ballades (rien à faire en dehors). En résumé si nous devions revenir je crois que nous n y passerions que 3 nuits , juste pour la plongée et le coté Robinson Crusoé . Sommes ensuite allé au Sensi Paradise qui reste un trés bon souvenir.(si vous voulez aller voir notre comte-rendu sur l hotêl )

We would without reservation recommend the coral view resort at koh tao! Absolutely amazing location; practically a private beach and one of the most beautiful on the three islands to boot. The staff are very warm and were quick to help us out with haggling! Fantastic price too and loads of quirks and bonuses like good snorkelling and cute pets. On On's Bar on the beach (part of the resort) is excellent too - with unusual spirits. We loved coral view!

We wanted to say a huge thank You to Kao and Daeng for a fabulous stay. We had luxuary room 21, so close to the beach you culd fall out of bed. The lack of hot water was disconcerting for the first day, after that we got used to it. The food at Coral view was good, breafast and dinner and lunch The next door resort also had a goos restauarnt. The evenings were quiet , spent at the Woody S beach bar, run by the DM from the dive school. The dive operation is one of the best I have known. Real personal service, and when i visited just me and the DM. Good value, good diving and excellent staff.

Un seul mot : Excellent Un hôtel extrêmement tranquille directement sur la plage. La description correspond exactement à leur site. Très propre, bon restaurant, accueil parfait. La chambre 21 donne directement sur la plage avec un petit balcon. 1 lit double + 1 lit simple, 1 ventilateur, toilette occidental, douche froide. Eau chaude inutile sous ces latitude. La plage est faite de sable mélangé à du corail moulu. Dès que l on rentre dans l eau il y a du corail. Chaussures conseillées. Parfait pour palme masque et tuba. Possibilité de nager avec des requins. Rassurez vous ils sont absolument inoffensifs. Accès depuis Mae Haad ( la ville ) uniquement en taxi 4X4, ou en moto tout terrain. L hôtel a un service taxi 2 x par jours pour 100 bath par personne et trajet. Hôtel conseillé à toutes personnes qui recherche la tranquillité et le dépaysement. Un vrai paradis. The resort attaches beautiful beach but it locates in a remote area, we needed transport aid to reach downtown. The food in restauart was so so. There was very limit selection. The resort owner and staff all was generally freindly. Except the young lady (Receptist)always showed her long face, not really nice to the guests. If there were some racks or hooks in the toilet, it would be perfect.the shower was too weak, the electricity was also weak. Pls prepare a torch if you decide to stay there.

The Coral View property is stunning and there is excellent snorkelling right off the beach. It is a great place to get away and relax. We stayed in a luxury apt , but it was simply a basic fan room for 3. We then switched to a bungalow for 3 more days, which was more rugged, but fine.

We have spend 2 weeks in the Coral View Resort and I have to say that have been a fantastic holidays, my first holidays in Thailand!! Excellent people working in the resort, very kind and helpful, excellent accommodation (value for money) and the time we spend in the restaurant after our fun dives during the day, fantastic!! No doubt I would recommend this resort for anybody looking for a relaxing and peaceful holidays! A part form the resort, I would also recommend the dive agency called Impian Divers! We have made 18 fun dives with these guys and they are very professionals and friendly!! Thanks a lot for make our holidays as nice as we expected. No doubt we will come back as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, not a good experience. The hillside bungalows are shabby and bad value for 700 Baht. Every night at 10 p.m., the nightly power switching that takes place in Koh Tao caused the lights to go too dim to read for the next 6 or so hours and the fan slowed down to a painfully slow crawl. The extremely unfriendly staff and the bad quality of the food at the restaurant (with only one viable alternative restaurant in walking distance) caused us to cut short our stay after two nights despite being billed for the five we had originally booked. The morning we checked out, I pointed out a piece of onion in my pineapple juice to the waiter who simply replied You go now. Better. It was. We spent the remaining three nights in Cookie's Salad Resort on Ko Phangan's Had Salad, where we had a great room and the staff went out of their way to fulfill every wish. Snorkelling equipment, for instance, can be taken out there at no cost at all, whereas Coral View charges an exorbitant 150 Baht per day - you can rent a motorbike for a day for that price. It's a real shame, because the location and beach is great, and the gardeners at the resort do a helluva lot better job than the folks in the kitchen!

Nous avons été un peu déçus par le Coral View Resort pour différentes choses : nous avions pris la chambre n° 30 (la meilleure chambre, d après la patronne), pour laquelle le site du resort annonçait sdb avec toutes les facilités continentales mais en fait, il n y avait pas d eau chaude. Le mobilier de la chambre est relativement vétuste, le ménage n y a jamais été fait durant tout notre séjour (d où poubelle pas vidée, draps de bain et de lit non changés, etc ...). Pas de climatisation,nous le savions, mais ... seulement un gros ventilateur sur pied. Des moustiquaires aux portes et fenêtres, mais ne fermant pas et laissant donc entrer tous les moustiques et autres délicieuses bestioles ! Bref, nous avons trouvé que le prix demandé était beaucoup trop élevé par rapport aux prestations fournies. Nourriture du restaurant pas au top non plus. Sinon, au point de vue situation, rien à dire : le resort est situé au calme (ce que nous désirions), loin de l agitation des autres plages et la plage est parfaite pour le snorkeling (malgré un manque évident de parasols et chaises longues - seulement 2 parasols pour tout le resort !).

Nice and simple resort. We had a luxury apartment with fan with one double bed and one single bed. We put the single matress on the floor so we had two single beds for our kids. Cold showers are OK. You have to ask if you want your room cleaned or more paper toilet or your rubbish bin emptied. The beach is lovely. You can snorkel or swim. There are two nice bays you can easily reach by foot in 10 mns ; one is all sandy ; the other one is all rocks but nice for snorkelling. To go to the village you can take the resort taxi (200 baths return /p) or you can come back with a moto taxi, cheaper. There is a small diving school in the resort in which people are so friendly. The boss speaks french, english, german ! The restaurant is nice, the food is good ; don tt forget to try also the restaurant next door in the Heaven huts resort , it's lovely too and right on the beach. You can have your clothes washed, use internet (expensive 3bahts/mn), rent scuba, palm, kayak, go on different tours around the island. Very nice and quiet altogether.

the resort was very nice and the people are very helpful. Stayed in the wooden bungalows but the bathrooms were a bit dirty. Geckos basically used my sink as a toilet and could hear them all night (wear earplugs). Otherwise, great staff and relaxing location. The pickup from the ferry pier was convenient and the diving school was excellent. Definitely recommend it if you want somewhere peaceful (everyone's in their bungalows by 10pm) and relaxing.

This resort is far away from anything else, no shopping and only one other restaurant. The mediteranean villas are very simular, quite old and will not get cleaned during you stay in it. So, if you love nature, beach and especially snorkling (you will see some sharkes), then this is a good resort for you. The restuarant is fantastic, the beach bar is a dream and the staff is perfect!

The location of the hotel is great for snorkelling - it has coral reef (unfortunately partially dead) right at the beach. In the morning or afternoon you can swim, and in the evening you can enjoy coral views which are amazing. It also has dive center, so you can dive freely either with instructor (discover dive) or with your buddy if you have a certificate. Diving is also fantastic, everything is very well-organized. Hotel has a restaurant with not expensive and tasty food, also they have a pick-up/drop off service to the main part of the island. Rooms are not too good (luxury appartments), but they are rather well-kept. Overall impression is good, and I would like to come back to the hotel again! I will never forget the view of the bay which they have from the restaurant. It's breathtaking!!! The nature is wonderfull and this hotel allows to plunge into it!

We had Mediterranean Villa No 18 on a beautiful location with nice balcony/view, cold shower (not too cold), just basic comfort, no mosquitos and other animals inside the hut. Only few steps to the wonderful restaurant (lovely staff) or to the beach. We were defenitely satisfied - best for value, and recommended. There were only few people at the nice beach, best for relaxing, not for party people. The corals start right from the beach - don't forget your snorkel. With strong heat you can expect some stinky yellow algaes at the shore, but this could happen everywhere. The access road is very steep with ca. 100% ascent and you can take the 80-Baht taxi service by 4-wheeldrive car. Free and reliable pick up from/to the boat. I manage to go downtown by foot within approx. 15 minutes several times - of course it's a little challenge, but great. Sometimes I just bought some nice mangos and walk back. Once I walked through Mae Haad city until end of the road in Ao Taa Then in the north, but most people rent bike or take a taxi.

Coral View Resort on Koh Tao was great. We stayed in the Mediterranean bungalows and had an excellent view of the beach, ocean, and Shark Island. You can actually swim/snorkel to Shark Island and the coral here is really nice. All the other bungalows looked great too. The road to Coral View was fun (very steep, but truly fun to go on), and they offered convenient taxi service to and from Mae Haad for only 80 baht (each way) and at really convenient times. They also offered a great snorkeling trip around the whole island for a good price. There are two restaurants on Haad Sai Deng, Coral View and the bungalow's restaurant next door, New Heaven. Both were great and I suggest eating at both. The atmosphere was relaxed, the breeze at the bottom level of Coral View's restaurant was amazing, and the people who worked there were great. All in all, Coral View, Haad Sai Deng, and Koh Tao were great and I definitely recommend this resort!

We had 4 wonderful days in Ko Tao's most southern point. The road to the resort is a challenge, but the service of the resort is being picked up at the boatpier by 4-wheeldrive car. Because there is only one other little resort at the same bay and a small divecenter makes this place very special. The beach and the bay are beautiful, the cabins are basic but have all seaview from the balcony. The people of the resort are very friendly and helpfull. The snorkeling is beautiful, even just from the beach. But going with the diveschool own boat to different places around the island is also a great experience. We were very happy that we were able to spend these days in this little piece of paradise.

Nice Resort. Very lonely place. The small beach is only for 2 Bungalow Resorts. Very friendly staff. There's a good Diving-Center in the Resort (German, Dutch, English and French). The Rooms are mostly clean. Every room with an good sight on the sea. The road to the resort is like an adventure. You need 4WD to get there. There is an 80 baht service with the Resort, to get into town.

It is a very laid back backpacker resort with its own coral bay (the name's more than accurate...). There's a very good diving school, too (impian divers), where we made our open water course. At the resort, you have a lounge with superb sea views and the food is delicious. Though ... the main city/harbour is 30 - 40 min. on a steeeeeep dirt road (2 shuttles per day provided and they'll pick you up for free from the ferry if you call in advance, but if you are looking for a secluded resort with great food, great views, great dives and a chilled athmosphere, that's the place to be!

The resort is one of two in this bay. It is far from the main road and required 4x4 to get to. No AC room is available there and the fan rooms were very hot. Because of power surged in the resort, all the wall mounted fans blow on evening along with my husband new camera battery charger! not the best of time. There are 2 restaurants on the beach and I would recommend the one passed the diver shop (ie. not the coral view restaurant). The beach was nice and the snorkelling was good. Would not come back - nothing special for the price.

Wonderful snorkeling area. in addition a dive school is located in the bay. Shark-island can be reached by snorkeling within 30 minutes. The bungalows are very rustical. No water-flow for the toilet, you have to use a can of water. We got towels and fresh linen after four days. Room-cleaning should be done by yourself. Food is very good, the staff is friendly in a familiar atmosspere. The stairs to restaurant / bungalow are extreme steep and a bit dangerous. The view from the restaurant and lounge is breathtaking.

Coral View Resort was friendly and peaceful. We were picked up by the pier without asking for it! You will never forget the ride down to the resort - never seen anything that steep! It´s a good place to stay if you don´t want the sound of cars and barking dogs. Try to get room 30. It is as close to the sea as you can get (aks for a new bulb for the bathroom). It´s not luxury but nice. It is possible to walk to Mae Haad, 3 km? - bring water - if you want shops etc.

Ko Tao is quite busy this time of the year and this place is a good way to get out of the crowd. We had the luxury apartments, which were quite clean and comfortable, but not luxurious. A fan, beds are okay, a balcony and located almost at the beach, although no hot shower and no daily room cleaning. You can leave the place only by 4WD over a rough dirt road (I saw quite some people injured because of trying to go by motorbike), for 80 Baht pax with the resort taxi twice a day or go by foot and walk half and hour up and down the hills to reach the one main road of the island. Taxis in town to go back can be found easily. The restaurant is nice, the owners are helpful. For snorklers, the coral and fish is not very impressive around the island, but there were reef sharks at the bay of the resort. It is really a diver's island.
