Having paid a for beach front bungalow (the most expensive) I should have realised we were basically staying in a Budget resort. This would explain the towels (one bathtowel each and frayed torn bathmat replaced each day by a clean but frayrd and torn one) It would also explain the breakfast. Always running out of coffee and bacon and little choice If you have children feel free they can run screaming through the restaurant at night. Also the staff (particularly maintainance and cleaning are Thai but not at all friendly as experienced antwhere else in Thailand. The restaurant staff are more friendly (but get orders very mixed up) and are not Thai I dont normally write such negative reviews and perhaps with better management it could be OK perhaps even good. One last thing the rooms are no where as large looking or good as they appear in the pictures

Very nice and quiet place with a wonderfull beach and seaview. Very good thai food in the restaurant. Breakfast is not what we expected as we prefer thai breakfast. Only white toastbread is offered together with egg and pancakes. Definitely af place we would like to come back to another time - hopefully with a more varied breakfast.

Stayed in one of the bungalows, it was really nice and clean and the staff at this place is friendly. Only thing was that at the restaurant, it takes forever to get a meal because no one is paying attention. Every day we saw customers sitting down and then leaving after a while because no one came up to them.

We were highly disappointed with the sewage smell throughout the facility. It appears that the pools and gardens are their sewage treatment system. The constant lingering odour was a big negative about this place. The smell was always there, except in the restaurant and even there one got occasional whiffs. The buffet breakfast was limited in selection, greasy and consistently cold. They could improve a lot in this area of service for very little cost. We would have left after one or two days except for the fact that we had to pay for the whole stay before we even arrived. The staff tried hard and the location was lovely. The smell ruined the whole experience .

Lite små rum men helt ok, mysig pool, område och restaurang. Stranden är helt underbar !!! Finns nästan inget att göra utan att slappa, bada och ta det lugnt, barnvänligt. 22 stängde rest och då fanns det inget mer att göra än att gå och lägga sig, är man ute efter party party så har man hamnat fel ;-)

Riktigt bra hotell och trevlig och mycket hjälpsam personal. Har bott där totalt 3 gånger och kommer säkert bo där igen. Det är dock i dyraste laget. Nice hotel and very helpful employers. I have lived at this hotel 3 times and i will come back. Maybe a little bit expensive.

Good value for money. We stayed in the Superior Sea view hotel rooms and they were large and comfortable and in line with what we paid. The pool was great and the deck to lie on at the beach. Breakfast was moderate and sufficient.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück ist für thailändische Verhältnisse okay. Am Strand findet man viele Restaurants. Ein großer Supermarkt - der günstigste - gehört zum Resort. Wir hatten einen Beachfront-Bungalow, der sehr schön war. Allerdings entsprechen die Fotos nicht mehr der Realität. Die Bilder vermitteln den Eindruck, dass die Lage direkt am Beach ist. Vor dem Bungalow befindet sich allerdings die einzige Sonnenterasse und gegenüber das Restaurant (geöffnet bis 22.00 Uhr). Wer nicht immer Leute vor der Nase haben möchte, sollte lieber einen Gartenbungalow nehmen. Die sind auch sehr schön und sicherlich ruhiger und günstiger. Liegen am Strand gibt es nicht, da dass Wasser - je nach Jahreszeit - bis zum Hotel kommt. Die Massagen im Hotel kann ich nur empfehlen ;-)

It was a great, calm and nice place at a very nice beach. We stayed at the resort for 7 days and loved it. We had our two children with us, 8 months and 4 yrs old, and the staff was excellent! They took care of our children just great, we merely did not want to leave. I would love to go back and strongly recommend this resort. Good prices!

That resort is really nice. We had a bungalow directly at the beach and everything was fine but the bathroom was not so perfect because there was no space to put your things on. The massage there is cheap and excellent! The restaurant is also cheap and good but sometimes you have to wait long till the waiter comes to you... One day we waitet 45 minutes and nobody came...The beach was soooo nice, the sand was white and the sea warm and clear. In the morning the water is really flat so that you cannot swim but for us it was ok. All in all it is a nice place and we enjoyed the vacation very much.

This is teh second time we have been here and we are pleased to say that our excpetations where well met. It is a nice and clean resort. Located on a small beach. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy life together with family, friends or lover. On the beach you have a lot of restaurants and bars to choose from. But I can recomend the hotels restaurant, they know how to make good and tastefull food. The staff are, as usallu in Thailand, very friendly and the kids loved them. So if you have plans to visit Kho Pangang, try Slad Beach Resort, you will not regret it.

In the whole we liked staying at Salad Beach.The resort is a lovely place, the beach was great, the service was very good. But I would recommend not to stay at the main Building, because it's too noisy there. We first stayed there for 5 nights and then decided to change to the poolside buildings. Which were more comfortable and just a view steps to the pool and to the beach. There we relaxed the next 6 nights and would have stayed longer. One thing I have to say is about the breakfast: we don´t like the english breakfast style, that´s wy we often went to another cafe or restaurant at salad beach. I think Salad Beach Resort should offer Thai Cuisine (like typical thai soup)as well:-)

This place ripped us off. We hired a scooter from the resort, slightly scratched it and got charged literally hundreds of dollars. This is despite staying here for over a week, spending money on meals and massages (the meals were nice, massages sub-standard, we wound up going to another resort one beach over for massages). Salad Beach Resort advertise a jacuzzi which is actually just a cold pool. Also the beach is small and messy, littered with trash and empty and full sandbags because the beach is eroding. Not good swimming either. Would highly recommend staying at beautiful Haad Yao, one beach over.

quite a good resort for the price. room's were nice and it has a nice pool, and it right on the beach (which is a good swimming and snorkeling beach). I d recommend that you hire a jeep when you arrive off the ferry, otherwise taxi's are expensive getting to anywhere, and also around the Salad beach all the resorts have fixed their prices for jeep rental (in Thongsala you can get a jeep for around 700THB per day, at Hat Salad beach they all want upwards of 1000THB per day.

Pros: (1)The hotel reception & the restaurant staff were very friendly, pleasant and extremely accomodating as they went out of their way to assist in any possible way. (2)The in-house taxi service was very punctual. Cons: (1)The price that I had to pay for the compulsory X mas party was a total rip-off. From a personal view of a S.E Asian, the simple local fare on display were available everywhere at simple food courts/ shops all over Malaysia, Singapore, even in Bangkok, but marked at an extorbitant price. I was definitely expecting A HELL LOT MORE for the price I m paying! In retrospect, in my personal opinion, they re mostly targetted at foreign tourist from Europe/US/UK whom might (unknowingly) think highly of the food (just the simple thought of alcohol would definitely swing some positive opinion from these foreign tourists). (2)The complimentary breakfast could definitely provide larger spread of varieties (for e.g. local or Asian delicacies). It's always the usual eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, toast, milk, coffee, tea cereals. (3)Ladies would definitely appreciate hair-dryers/blowers in the rooms, rather than have to borrow from the massage centre.

Un tres tres bon hotel ou il fait bon passer ces vacances. Les bungalow pool view sont extraordinaires, ils sont a qq mètres de cette dernière, et a quelques dizaines de metres de la plage, tt simplmeent splendide ! Le petit dejeuner compris est un buffet a volonté avec un vaste choix de réjouissance ! L équipe de l hotel est tres bien, le spa dispense des soins de qualité. Bref tout est parfait! NB: Le transfert du port d arrivée a l hotel vous sera facturé 150b par personne à l arrivée.

The service wasn´t good. The Staff didn´t even say hello when we arrived and wasn´t intressting of the work or the guests. The Pickupservice was late and expensive - thougt it was including the high rate - but not. It was really noisy place with thin, thin walls. We did´nt sleep very much at this place. The food at the restaurang is not to recommend. Eat at another restaurang on the beach. On the day can you only stay att the poolside cause the water was so high, no beach and the hole beach was full of sandbags - not beatyful at all. We´ve been to Thailand a lots of times and this was the only place we never come back to and is not recomended!

I have visited this particular beach a lot and saw this resort being built. A few of my friends have stayed there over the years and yet this was my first stay after it was built 6 years ago. I would say that I thought the rooms were very dated and needed a face lift. The sink taps were really annoying as they wouldn't stay switched on and there was no plug in the sink! My boyfriend had a real issue with this for shaving reasons! Half the staff in the main restaurant were pleasant. But the other half were pretty rude and looked like they hated being there. Nothing like the other places on the beach. There was a really obvious difference in staff here compared with anywhere else. The most shocking thing though was that the manager on the front desk who greets all new clients was the most rude thai man I have ever met. He was the most miserable person I have ever met too... surely this is not the kind of front desk staff you require in Hospitallity! This man is easy to identify as he is the only man on front desk wearing pony tails and painted finger nails. To be fair I only booked at this resort because Salad Hut was full. But we did have a very pleasant stay. The pool is lovely and the room was fine.... Haad Salad Beach is what made the holiday great not the hotel.

Upon arrival we didn't know what we were getting into, but once we got in, what a wonderful place this is!! We even extended our stay for few days more. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms were clean. Food from restaurant was top notch. This is truly a gem that we d want to keep to ourselves and not tell anyone else so we can keep it to ourselves. Nute was an excellent ambassador for the english speaking people. Everyone was always smiling and trying to make your stay adventurous or just quiet along the pool.

Hotel nice.We stayed in hotel building room above reception which was nice but we could hear the neighbours every move through adjoining door also a bit far away from pool + beach.would advise a pool,garden or beach bungalow.Nice quiet beach, shallow waters so good for our 3yr old. Many children staying at hotel,a good place for families.Staff very friendly.Breakfast very good.Pancakes made to any shape you want if you fancy a crocodile or shark.Good stay for somewhere quiet.Bikes easy to hire to travel round the island as not much to do around resort.Snorkelling good tho.Hotel also hires out kayaks which is good fun for an hour.Would go again.

Very nice rooms, we stayed in the hotelpart closest to the beach and had a spacious balcony overlooking the garden with a glimpse of water. The restaurant and staff are excellent as well as the spa-staff. The only minus is a shortage of sunbeds or rather that the custom of reserving sunbeds with beachtowels is predominant. The beach however is a delight with crystalclear water and some fairly good snorkeling to be had just close by. All in all a resort to recommend.

Overall impression is ok. (We stayed 5 times in Samui - this was our first time in Phangan.) Salad Beach Resort has good room but - shower is not seperated (Pool View Villa) from Toilet. Thats a bit unconvenient as half of the washingroom is wet after shower. Pool has good size, enough sunchairs all the time there. Restaurant is ok. Food is middle class, service very nice and friendly. Reception of Hotel is not that good - mostly unfriendly and need to be squeezed for a bit of info. Beach was very very slim - but great for swimming and snorkeling. ATM and supermarkets just around the corner.

Great beach for snorkeling, calm and very clear water. The front office staff spoke very little english and were not too friendly, but The boys at the restaurant are just fantastic!! We had a pleasant stay at Salad Beach. Unfortunately the weather was not god, during our stay. Rainy and Windy. But the hotel was good and clean and the staff at the restaurant were very nice, good service and the thai food was very tasty. We were living in a bungalow, 2 adult and two children age 6 and 8. It was enough space but if you will stay longer than 4 nights, I will recommend the larger beach/pool bungalow. They looked much lager. The staff in the reception was a bit slow, and the extra pillow we asked for never showed up. But we had no problem during our stay, so the request for that extra pillow was almost all contact we had with the reception. Remember not to pay to much for your transfer from the ferry. The Taxi wanted 1000 bath to take us to the hotel, the driver finally accepted 750 bath. But 500 bath is what you are supposed to pay. And we only paid 350 bath when we returned.

Beautiful and fantastic place to stay if you just want to relax and chill out!! Bungelows are very nice, clean and service is good and staff friendly, especially the waiters serving the food!!Great pool! Will go back anytime, def go and stay there again! Thanks

Salad Beach Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
Salad Beach is a beautiful beach when the tide is high and looks less nice when the tide is low. The snorkeling was good just a few meters out from the beach. The hotel is nice with a beautiful garden and pool area. However the staff was really unfriendly. They made no effort in helping out and had also some trouble communicating in english. I would not reccomend a family with small children to stay in the hotel part since there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the rooms and the rail of the stairs is dangerously low.
