Had some nice relaxing days in this resort. Stayed in a Family Villa, the room is very big for two adults and one child. The restaurant serves nice western food as pizza, but the Thai food doesn´t taste so good, you don´t have so many choices from the menu. The breakfast is very poor, you have to pay extra for one more cup of coffee for example. The small beach and the area is really nice.

I had visited this resort in the past when travel around and wanted a nice spot for lunch. We trvalled here on our first day of honeymoon and they instantly made us feel welcome. The rooms are nice, neat and clean plus the general facilities are fantastic ( pool table, table tennis, volleyball/banminton, free dvd's to watch in your room, steam room, onsite ouside spa and general great pool and sun lounging areas. The food was good and the breakfast came with a nice selection. They do an awsome braai ( bbq ) and make great homemade pizza in thier outside oven.

Beautiful location and very nice accommodation. Couldn't fault the staff, service or food. However, a local bar has started live music until 2pm, not sure if this will be a nightly occurrence but was all three nights of our stay. Had to buy ear plugs to try to get some sleep! Therefore have only given a 3 for location.

not value for money, the price is very high compring to the hotel facilities. we took the studio apertment whicg is very big but we didny like the design and wasnt clean and comfortable. there were leserds and insects in room. the way to the room is dark at night and very dirty. The hotel located very far froom hadarin ( 20 min by taxi and road is very scary to drive- lots of hills). the resturant was ok although very expensive and you dont have anoter choices. the staff was frindly and te hotel have nice private beach

The best of everything -the Villa accomodation was surrounded by small streams of fish and set in a lush and well maintained mature tropical garden - the Villa was beautifully furnished and designed and completely private. All staff were friendly and polite. I particularily recommend the Masseuse, the excellent food at very reasonable prices, the view from a lounge on the beach with a Strawberry Daiquiri and everything else really. We had the best most relaxing time that we have had in years - thankyou Milky Bay your e an absolute STAR! I cannot fault Milky Bay Resort - The accomodation was beautiful- surrounded by streams of fish in lush tropical gardens the Villa was stylish and very comfortable, beautifully maintained and very private. All staff were friendly, polite and helpful - a very happy bunch of people. The food was very very good and competitive to anything you may buy outside the resort. Location was perfect - the pool was of a good size and the beach front, both cleaned every day. Many activities, such as table tennis, badminton, pool etc. were available to guests. I would recommend this resort for young and old - it has everything you could possibly want for a really good holiday. Jean and Ian James

milky bay was the perfect accomodation for our stay over the full moon party period. it wasnt too far away but not too close either. they have a private beach, private swimming pool, private restaurant, pool AND table tennis tables. when at the resort, there was no time for boredom! if you do decide to stay at milky bay be sure to tip the staff because they are amazingly friendly and helpful and tender to your every need! loved it!!

We stayed at milky bay resort just before christmas 2010 for 4 nights and its probably the most enjoyable time i have ever had at a resort and i am a very seasoned traveller / holiday maker. The rooms a nice and clean (if a little small) but the location of the resort is fab.. not too far (10mins in a taxi or transfer) from haard rin so near full moon area. but far enough away from the madness ! The resort itself is superb. on the beach which in itself is class paradise is the word we use to describe it ! The staff are 1st class. arguably the most friendly people i have met anywhere in the world ! They work so hard and really help you with anything from trips, boat transfers, taxis, resort info etc etc. The restraunt is amazing. The thai food was perfect value for money yet presented in a 1st class way and yet so tasty ! The restraunt itself was classy just overlooking the beach! The pizzas from the stone baked oven are to die for also ! They had a bbq night and we had steak, chicken, veg, corn, fresh fish of loads of choice and variety and everything was cooked to perfection ! brilliant. I was a bit hung over from the full moon party so the next day i ordered a steak sandwich and fries and it was the best steak sandwich and fries i have ever had ! so simple but amazing ! The bar area has all sports on and a free pool table. The cocktails are amazing as well ! the only slight downside is we were there for 4 nights and the towels never got changed but im not going to go into a beef about something as minor as that ! I fully recomend this resort and as arnie once said ill be back !!

My partner and I spent 5 nights at the Milky Bay resort and would probably choose to stay elsewhere if we came back to Koh Phangan. Mainly because the beach is not very nice. The water is cloudy and rough, and there is only a small amount of sand available at low tide. The North West of the Island has beautiful beaches with crystal clear aqua blue water. I would recommend staying at Haad Salad as it is not as shallow as some of the other beaches up that end of the Island. We stayed in a standard bungalow that was small, dark and full of mosquitoes. Cracks in the walls, floors and breather holes in the bathroom mean that mosquitoes get into your room constantly and they are the biggest mosquitoes I have ever seen! Make sure they have installed a mosquito net over the bed for you! The bathroom is traditional with the shower over the toilet, weak water pressure and no where to hang your towels to dry that won't get wet. There wasn't even a toilet roll holder! No wardrobe, in room safe or drying rack was provided. We received two bottles of drinking water each day and breakfast was ok. You get tea/coffee and juice plus choice from about 7 meals on the menu. (Muesli, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, tomato

This was our first time on Koh Pha ngan so we weren't sure where to stay. This resort wasn't our first choice but we booked it late during the high season so.. Overall this is a decent place to stay. I never felt like there were any scams or untrustworthy people around. By far the best thing was the pizza at the resort restaurant - fantastic brick oven pizza! Staff were very friendly and tried to help. In fact on dissappointment was that Anita (F&B manager?) helped make arrangements for us to rent a jetski and said everything was set. The jetski never showed (we waited on the very small beach 20 minutes BEFORE the agreed meet time and 1 hour afterwards). Anita told me she called them and they would come and just wait but again it never arrived. Then, I had to go find her on the resort and when I did she said basically sorry. They are all booked and can't come . Absolutely unacceptable service! Horrible customer service when you basically promised to have a jetski meet us at noon and then basically forget about us. If you can't come through on something then don't promise to make it happen. We could have saved ourselves the trouble and booked it off your property on our own instead of waiting all day on your promise and then losing out all together by the afternoon. The resort property is kind of interesting since it is well hidden in the trees and bushes. I actually thought it was nice to keep it more natural like that but I didn't like the shredded bark that was used as surfacing for the entire grounds. It was horrible if you dropped a towel or bag since the shredded bark was like glue - it stuck to everything! it also wasn't the nicest thing to walk on barefooted - it poked your feet like sharp needles. The beach was also very very narrow - not much sand. The water was nice enough though. This resort is not far from the pier so getting there was easy. I would recommend staying to the north on the island, for example at Haad Mae - much nicer there but not sure of the price, etc. We rented a scooter and rode around to other beaches and saw nicer places. Still, this is not a bad place to stay but there are some things that could be improved.

Milky Bay is in a great location if your wanting to go to the Half Moon Party. If your after a quiet place, I would not recommend it. The food was great, and the beach beautiful. Unfortunately while we were there we had no water, and some of the other rooms had no electricity. Our request for a discount was denied despite not being able to shower during our stay.

This is a great resort; it has very friendly, helpful staff and super activities like the table tennis table and free pool table. The swimming pool is big and refresghingly cool. The sea is unswimmable but the beachj is pretty. The food in the restaurant is lovely, if a little pricey. The pizza nights when the stone oven is fired up is worth a try. Overall a lovely stay and we would recommend it.

What a fantastic resort. It was just brilliant. Bar with free pool and table tennis, restaurant good priced food, cool swimming pool and great staff. Our bungalow was right on the beach with amazing views of the sunset. The rooms were a little small but it did not matter as the resort was worth it. I will definately be going back again. Hire a moped and discover the island too for £4 a day.

I was astonished about the resort as the bungalows and the surrounding were arranged really beautiful and we could see how they loved details. The staff was so nice and they fulfilled all our wishes. Unfortunately we just stayed there for two days as we visited Koh Tao and Koh Samui as well. We were in several restaurants on all three islands and the restaurant of this resort was one of the best!!! The food was really great AND the sanitary facilities were clean which was a problem on most places. I definitely recommend this resort and will go there again.

The hotel itself is set up with lots of plants and is well kept. The staff is friendly. However, the location is very unfortunate as the beach is dirty and the water of the sea too shallow to swim. There are no other restaurants in walking distance. Therefore, I changed my plan and left after only 2 nights instead of 4. I was told that the hotels policy was to grant no refund at all. Strangely, the pick up from the pier was free of charge, but I had to pay for the way from the hotel to the pier.

I was quite disappointed with the Milky Bay Resort. I booked for a group which had a few different type of rooms. Myself I stayed in the bechfront jacuzzi room, the most overpriced room there. The bathroom had no air to it or proper drainage and made the whole room smell disgusting, they obviosly are aware of this with the plentiful amounts of incense they supply. The spa was dirty and un chlorinated. The location was good though for what we wanted and the food was okay but probably one of the most expensive palces to eat on the island. They also lost one of our gorups laundry, they showed no remorse nor did they offer any compensation. The five day min stay over new years is a rort as well, as was the gala dinner with free transfers to the full moon party.

Everything was just amazing, from the sunset to the staffs and service! if you need anything at all, look for billy, a south african chap that will help you out with anything at all. a very unique hotel where each room had a different theme to it. whether you re with your family or friends, definitely a great hotel to stay at.. thank you again milkybay!!

I could not recommend this hotel more!! Its about 15 mins from Haad Rin where the full moon party is, but they provide 24 hour transfers for 100BAHT ($4 Aus). The rooms are beautiful and have a real authentic thai feel. The staff could not have been friendlier and the restaurant food is A++. There is a cool bar and pool. It's also GREAT value for money! If you can afford to stay in one of the big rooms-do it, it's got couches, tv and the biggest bathroom i have ever seen!

Die Lage des Hotels war für uns sehr gut. Vom Hafen 10 Minuten und der Stadt Thongsala. Moped sehr empfehlenswert. Hatten abends die Strassenküche in Thongsala genossen. Wunderbar! Das Hotel ist schön angelegt, allerdings gibt es sehr unterschiedliche Bungalows. Wir hatten einen sehr, sehr kleinen (B6) und wir könnten problemlos einen Tag später umziehen in E2. Diese Bungalows sind groß und hell und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Wir waren Vorsaison (Juni), daher war die Ebbe bis 14 Uhr und abends die Flut d.h. Baden erst spät Nachmittag möglich. Es sind schöne und lange Spaziergänge am Meer möglich und es ist fast menschenleer. Wir waren mit dem Moped viel unterwegs, daher war es nicht so tragisch, da wir andre schöne Strände fanden. Die Preis/Leistung vom Hotel ist nicht ok. Frühstück und Essen zu teuer bzw. überbezahlt. Abwechslung ist nicht allzu groß. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Massagen waren ausgezeichnet professionell.

The room was absolutely fabulous! It was decorated nicely! The tree in the room added such character to it that impressed both of us immensely! The food at the restaurant was delicious. The service was amazing everywhere. Each person was helpful in answering all questions and providing assistance when needed. The pool was gorgeous and excellent for the mornings to swim, due to the low tide that lasted for the majority of the day. The best part of the hotel was the location on the beach. The view of the sunset was incredible! We went for a walk down the beach on our last night to enjoy the sunset from different views, and met some local Thai families and some cute children (for those adventurous folks). I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is willing to pay a little extra for fantastic comforts.

You will have a great time at this resort. What can we say....Fantastic, fantastic and fantastic....When we arrived, orange juice on arrival, paid a fantastic promo rate and were UPGRADED to a fantastic studio (big enough to entertain 10 guests for social). Staff were great, English was tops, the service was superlative, the restaurant food BEYOND expectation (the owners apparently used to run restaurants...go figure!) This resort is run like a 5 star resort based on service. English speaking pursor/guides ensured every need was looked after, they went overboard to ensure we were happy....the rates were great, for extras we hired a jeep at a decent resort rate and went around the entire island...we had such a good room deal we didn't worry about unbooking the room while we bounced around other resorts on the island (check with them first tho)....they were very very friendly, professional, yet relaxed...they don't pressure you like Chaweng beach type resorts in Koh Samui....they offer you options and let you think about it. No pressure, no high sale, no need to barter....they just said we want you to come back so we want to look after you and they did. Perfectly they stuck to the truth of what they said when we walked in. Make this resort your choice!

Accommodation and facilities:
Very nice hotel with exceptional friendly staff. The rooms are quite big and stylish .I had a wonderful stay there. The only minus was that even they have a AIS Plus sign all around the resort, they won't accept the card for discounts and I got charged for Minibar items I didn't drink. Still thumbs up from me. Great place to be and i will definitely going back.

I stayed with my wife and family for 5 nights at Milky Bay. The rooms were clean, but very small. The resort has a tremendous amount of foliage which is beautiful, but creates an effect that is rather claustrophobic and extremely hot and muggy. The staff was generally unpleasant and unhelpful. The set breakfast was nice, but the food otherwise was very expensive. I had decided to stay on Koh Panggon thinking that I would get more value than on Samui, where I d visited many times over the years. I was wrong. I ve never written a review of a resort before, and had decided not to when I left Milky Bay, but they asked. Koh Pangon is beautiful just the same.

The Milky Bay Resort was a delightful hotel with friendly staff. We would be very pleased to recommend it to others. We were disappointed that the swimming pool was closed for the first 2 days of our stay, and that WiFi was not available as had been advertised.

Awesome as always, second time back and remomend it to everyone, it near the half moon party and only a short trip to Had Rin. Unreal staff, bar, pool. Recommend it to everyone.

Our stay was very pleasant and our upgraded room was great over looking the pool. Besides the fact that one couple had their passports and money stolen from the lockers, our experience was overall good. Only complaint was the receptionist that was very unfriendly. If Milky Bay had a helpful front desk person the stay would have been 100%

I was very disappointed at there was no beach. When I booked, for several month before my visit, and looked at the picture it seems so nice and then when I got ther - no beach! Heard from antother guest that they later on has information on the website that they rebuilding the beach so I felt me a little deceived. When I talked to the hotelmanger she told us that it's a kind of naturecatastrof with high sealevel and the beach was off. But we had booked 3 nights and want only stay for 2 for that reason-but we couldn't get any money back we was told. Bad service ! The superier bungalows wasn't either so nice as I expected. Will never get back !

The hotel is quiet and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant, bar, pool tables, fitness centre, and staff are good too, but visitors should know in advance that there is no beach and the water is shallow and cloudy for 500 metres in front of the hotel. There really is no swimming or beach at Milky Bay.

Fantastic place with an excellent (if not cheap) restaurant. We enjoyed the pool and shallow water with our 2 year old son for 5 days. The villa rooms are beautiful and spacious. Highly recommended!

Great hotel, awesome restaurant with fantastic prices. Cocktails always great and the sunset on the beach everyday couldnt be better!! Room had a musty smell to it, and the hot water well more like coldish warm water which was a little bit annoying, but seriously was fantastic time with heaps of memories and plenty of my friends stayed here before and all loved it... really want a good time stay here.. staff are the cutest and always willing to help!!

The Milky Bay Resort is a very nice Resort, clean rooms, very friendly staff, You got everything what you need.(Swimming pool, fitness area, tabletennis, pool) The beach is ok, but we rented a motorbike to visit the other beaches as well. We can recommend it!

The resort itself is beautiful with fabulous greenary everywhere.The standard twin rooms are exactly that..standard,but considering its so reasonably priced a little upgrade in rooms is the way to go. The staff are young, friendly,accomodating and great fun. Location wise its a bit out from either of the bigger towns but the resort will get you taxi's no problem! Our stay in the Milky Bay was pure luxary and as close to a stay in paradise as can be expected.... Thanx everyone, would definately consider staying there again on my next trip to Thailand.

This resort was paradise! My husband and I traveled through SE Asia for the last 16 days and Milky Bay was by far the best experience we had; the staff were amazing, the rooms were clean and pretty, the reasonably priced food was great, and the clean pool was a peaceful place to relax. When I booked the Milky Bay I noticed some negative comments about the beach - the tide is out in the morning, but it was still fun to walk out to the deeper water. I would recommend booking a snorkeling tour for a day as there is no snorkeling at the resort. I am recommending this resort to one of my best friends for her honey moon :0)

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The only problem is that the sea is to swallow for swimming, but therefore they have a nice swimming pool. Comfortable bungalows. Good restaurant and don’t forget to taste a cocktail, some of them are served in a hollow coconut or melon – awesome!!! I would recommend this hotel for everybody who doesn’t need a sea for swimming in front of the hotel.

What a beautiful place, a real paradise!!! The hole area was like a huge garden and after spending time at Bangkok and Samui their restaurant was absolutely the best! If youre going, select something else than standard room. When we booked, there was nothing else left and standard bongalow was very small and modest. If you are party people, I think Haad rin (10 min. by car) was much better, but for those who are looking after tranquillity, THIS IS IT!!

A very nice resort and very good service!! It´s a good place on the island. I think it´s one of the best resorts of koh phangan. Very nice and helpfull staff, the boss is also very friendly! Good breakfast and the restaurant is the best of koh phangan. Very clean and nice rooms!

Milky Bay resort was my best stay in Thailand. The resort is fantastic, with own restaurant, bar, pool, pingpong, pool tabels, internet, massage and beach. The staff are very frindly and the room very good. If you want to do in still book room D2..Will diffently go back
