Cookies Salad was great. Haad Salad is a very pretty beach with good snorkelling. Cookies has the most amazing view of the beach and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I really have nothing bad to say about this resort and I would recommend it to any travellers out there. Just note that Haad Salad is not Haad Rin and has a very bohemian yet family orientated vibe. The staff were friendly and were always ready to assist with anything. The restaurant food was good. I would go back to Cookies in a heartbeat and I have many fond memories of this resort.

Stayed in a fantastic family cottage with the best views over a stunning beach. Lovely people running cookies- had a real family feel and they went out of their way to help and were warm and friendly. Room was spotless and I felt it was really good value. Best bit-cocktails in the big comfy chairs looking over the beach lit up at night. The beach and sea here are beautiful.

Wonderful beach (Haad salad)! Excellent view from restaurant and rooms. If you have bad legs don't choose this hotel. It is on a very high hill and you really need condition to walk up and down. Pool - very nice, you can rent a scooter from a hotel, but you really need to know how to drive beacuse the streets aren't good everywhere and the hills are very high. We enjoyed our stay in Cookies!

Hôtel avec très belle vue sur la mer à flanc de colline et très calme.Attention l accès est difficile car la route de l hôtel est en terre et se transforme vite en terrain boueux lors des fortes pluies. De plus l hôtel est plutôt recommandé pour ceux qui recherche le calme car situé loin du centre ville et du port (environ 20mn en taxi). Les chambres sont propres et l accueil très chaleureux et toujours prêt pour vous rendre services et répondre a vos questions. Il est possible de louer des scooter directement à l hôtel pour le journée car c est le seul moyen pratique et pas cher si vous voulez visiter l ile par vous même (environ 7€/jour).

Très bon site de réservation d hôtel pour la Thailande et permet parfois de bénéficier de nuit gratuite suivant les périodes de séjours. Les informations de réservations sont rapide et clair et il est possible de voir les prix en euros pour les tarifs de tous les hôtels.

Let me start by saying that this hotel is not for those who have trouble with stairs and steep hills. Even for us with full movebility it was a tough time to get from the room to the reception. The beach was dried out due to low tide and was not usable at daytime... There was also lots of boats ankered in the bay, and the catamaran from Samui got in and out, wich made it even worse. The hotel has a pool, and it is small, but then again it was our only way to get a swim due to the tide. There was a lot of salamanders, mosquitos and other bugs around the hotel and in the rooms. Felt really like living in the middle of the jungle. The breakfast included was not enough to eat so you will have to order extra every time to get rid of your hunger... There is no other restaurang or shop in walking distance, except for the other hotels further down the beach. I´m sorry to say, but I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cookies was a really nice chilled out place to stay. The best thing about it was the lady who appeared to be in charge, she was really helpful and went out of her way to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed and was always willing to arrange tours and transport for us. We stayed in the Panorama Cottage, which is up a short but very steep walk up the hill from the pool and restaurant. But the views from the room make it worth it and the jacuzzi bath on the balcony is a nice feature too.

Das Resort ist sehr nett gelegen, wenn man in der high tide season kommt, was bei uns leider nicht der Fall war, d.h. der Strand war nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet. Die Zimmer sind nett und sauber, das Service koennte besser sein. Es wurde uns zB versprochen, dass wir von der Faehre (Tong Sala) abgeholt werden, es hat jedoch niemand auf uns gewartet, erst nach neuerlichem Anruf wurden wir dann abgeholt, allerdings ohne Entschuldigung fuer die Verspaetung, und die Wartezeit.Ueber Umwege und in halsbrecherischem Tempo gings dann zum Resort. Die Freundlichkeit bzw Hilfsbereitschaft des Teams koennte etwas groesser sein ... wir sind verfrueht von cookies weg und haben in der Nachbarbucht (had Yao) in ein billigeres und wesentlich besseres Quiartier (bay view resort) gewechselt.

Simply Fantasic. Nice and quiet place. If you expect party, choose another place because mostley all restaurants and bars are closed at 10 p.m. all rooms at Cookies have perfect view. The restaurant serves very good food one of the best restaurants in Salad Beach, to reasonable prices. We stayed at room no 9 in 4 days and extend for 2 days more and choose to stay 5 days more in room no 15, Panorama room which had more space - large bathroom and sleeping room. Room no 15 was on a higher level at the area. Not suiteble for couples with smal childeren. Staff is very helpfull The place is good value for money. The only negative thing is the sunbeds are not so comfy. And if you expect a full breakfast with variation, you will be disapointet. But overall one of the best places I ever have vitit in Thailand. Will surely be back again.

We had a fantastic time at cookies s! The food was fantastic - the service was without fault and the position is amazing for swimming in the pool and ocean. I would reccomend this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet in a stunning location. Because of the position (nestled into the hillside) you need to be able to walk for a short distance uphill to get to and from your room. We had a great day out snorkelling (organised by the resort) and also a lovely massage. The beach is ok for swimming but is more for floating around and relaxing than anything else. The water was clear and the ideal temperature. Perfect holiday!

Friendly laid back Place in dramatic, Beautiful Setting. The Room spacious, but seemed it could Be touched up in Some places. Best panang curry in Thailand. very chil-friendly. However, it's very remote - no shops in the area, just other resorts. That doesn't mean it's tranquil - the resort next door has a loud PA and an ecclestic taste in pop music.

We spent 3 weeks in Thailand recently and Cookies was by far the best place we stayed throughout our trip. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating and provided us with all the tickets and travel info we required. We were staying during the full moon party and cookies supplied a taxi to take us to the party (which was 50 mins away but also really nice to get away from the crowds to relax for the remainder of our holiday). The bungalows are brilliant and had amazing views over the quiet and very clean beach. Even when the weather turned there was a good selection of books and dvd's to pass the time. The food at cookies restaurant was some of the best we had all trip and the staff were lovely. We were extremely sad to leave and i have been recommending this place to everyone i ve met. I would, without question, stay here again. I cannot praise it enough! Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful 5 days!

The view from our room was amazing! However, Cookies is extremely hard to get to. If you have a hard time getting around, this may not be the place for you as it is on a major hill. To get to your room feels like working out on a stair master. It is off of this dirt road that is not well marked, so be sure to have them pick you up. The people were more than friendly. This place has a wonderful vibe. The food is so so, but there are other restaraunts on the beach.

Stayed here after visiting the original Cookies several times. Booked fairly early but still couldnt get the room we wanted, ended up in the hotel block. Can't give high marks for the room as the roof leaked (probably endemic to the top floor (3rd) of the hotel block) and the cable tv package was a bit lacking but generally as described, and i m sure the bungalows are great. Great location and views, nice pool, standard restaurant, free unsecured wifi in and around the restaurant (although that might be an oversight on their part), staff friendly - although seriously disinterested about the leaking roof - prices fair. Heavy on the families but would still recommend for couples.

we were very disappointed by this hotel. We book for 6 nights and we stay one. The reasons : * Noisy on day (due to workers field next to the hotel, and noisy on night (due to wild dog barking each others) * When we arrive the room were not ready so they clean it very quickly and it was very dirty (we book an overseaview family cottage) and the room need some fixing to correspond such a price. * If you want to get sun after 3 pm it isn't possible because it goes on the other side of the hill... As you wish.... * The breakfast is very poor... The good points : The staff is very cool and kind (to much may be). They made any problem when we want to leave. The view is absolutely wonderful. So Take it or leave it .... We

Stayed here as a couple for 5 nights, had a great time. Staff were lovely, panoramic room had an amazing view, food was very tasty and good value (actually, everything was good value). Very family friendly resort (staff seemed to be really good with the kids staying with other families) but didn't cause any problems for us. Some construction work ongoing at the time we were there (two new huts being built at the top of the cliff near to the panoramic room, and a resort next door being finished) but it really wasn't much of an issue for us. TBH there's building work all over KPN at the moment anyway, looked like it would be finished by the end of the season. Good location on NW of island near ko ma and other nice beaches, a few bars including the reggae bar on the hill behind salad beach. although if you want to go further than salad beach or the little village on the main road you'll have to get taxi's or hire a bike (note the roads are *very* tricky, anyone riding a moped for the first time here is just plain crazy) Great snorkling to be found at cookies side of the bay, ask the staff for where.

Nice hotel with smiling helpfull staff,but most of the staff are myanmari and have their problems with english and also with thai The hotel is located in a hill and in the morning at 6:00 am, the braking-concert and the starting of the motobikes is not helpfull for people witch have problems to sleep Another problem is,that from 6:00 am it is daytime inside the room; this means that the rooms haven't the possibility to be darked And the guy which sweeps the way down to the reception does it with a passion,that you can use him as an alarm-clock (7.00 am) The food was very good,but have an eye on their eggs.... Three of my friends and me were hitted by an extreme diahree,and we all eated eggs for breakfast... If you like to be in a quiet hotel on a quiet beach,far away from such noisy places like haadrin, so come here Nothing other to do here, than stay in the pool(which wasn't cleaned the 4 days i was there),or walk down the beach and have a massage In the evening you can eat and have some drinks(but only until 10:00 pm) So,a good hotel for couples which like to go sleep early I will not come back

The rooms here are what it's all about, large with huge bathrooms and set into the hill so great views of the beach. The restaurant and bar really aren't anything to write home about although service is very friendly and helpful. Suggest you eat at the restaurant of the hotel next door the Salad Buri which despite looking dead swanky is actually really cheap to eat and with the best Thai food I had anywhere in the islands, oh and the staff are lovely too. Do not recommend hiring motorbikes at Cookies as the hill is death defying, instead walk up the beach and hire them in the little village. Also avoid the laundry as it was badly done and they lost my skirt, overall then very good value!!!

I think that the resort is great value for money. Our party had 2 adults and 2 children and we stayed in the hotel area of the resort, although the rooms where very clean there was no fridge, I mentioned this to the owner , and she said the rooms would soon be fitted with fridges. The resort is built on a hill and is steep in places. the food was very good and the staff are outstanding. The beach was very clean, but when the tide is low it is not good for swimming, then again is great for kids to paddle about in. Overall I would give Cookies 8.5 out of 10.

I would recommend Cookies to anyone who is not afraid of climbing stairs because there are a lot of them if you get a bungalow higher up, but otherwise the resort is very cosy and the staff is very friendly and service minded. Good food and a good view over Salad Beach from the restaurant. The beach is not a beach perfect for swimming since there are a lot of coral pieces on the bottom. You need shoes. But if you like snorkelling walk out to the last house on the right side of the beach if you are facing the sea. There is a path and anyone can walk there. There you will find a perfect coral reef with many different corals and fish (I even saw a couple of very small harmless sharks). Almost all of the snorkelling tours sold around Koh Phangan stop there and you can get it for free if you stay there. I liked Salad Beach and Cookies very much and I m planning to go back during the summer.

Great location on Salad Beach which is one told to be one of the nicest on Ko PhanGan. The resort is 20 mn away from Thong Sala (by car), but once you got there, you don't really feel like leaving the place and can totally depend on the resort for everything : it won't cost you a leg and an arm if you choose to do so ! You can also access restaurants, bars and a village with a few shops through the beach. I stayed at the resort for 4 nights, took all my meals there and even booked a massage. Went to the beach in the morning, relaxed by the pool in the afternoon , sipped a cocktail before dinner admiring the wonderful view on the bay : not too difficult to enjoy such a program for a few days ! For those who enjoy sunbathing all day long : the pool is in the shade from 4 p.m. The resort is very well maintained, and the cottages are clean, spacious, comfortable and stylish with a very nice bathroom. I stayed there with a friend, we had booked for 3 nights and then decided to arrive one day earlier so I booked one more night through SiameServices website. The booking went on well but the change of plans seemed to have effects on the organization of our stay : we were made to change rooms 3 times ! The explanations from the manager were a little confused but it may be due to the fact that English is not her native language. Very beautiful and well situated hotel,we were in the overseasighting wooden room, the view was marvelous.The bungalows and the swimming pool very well integrated to the vegetation.Only the staff of the restaurant doesn't speak english and was no very friendly. I recommand this hotel

Super location, easy to get too, fantastic views. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The quality of the food is superb and sensibly priced. The owners can provide or access a full range of services e.g. tours laundry and transport at competitive rates. Only wished we could have stayed longer. The information pictures on their website are accurate. They take care to inform guests that building work is taking place nearby but this should not put anyone off at all. The impact of this is negligable. No mess noise etc. Would go back tomorrow!

Amazing views, restaurant staff very friendly. Rooms well priced and comfortable. BIG PROBLEM checking out. Owners tried to charge for extra night when this was questioned (as we gave them enough notice) owner lost the plot and started shouting very loudly at ME! Then his wife came in and they started argueing over whether or not the money should be charged. Very strange situation, they eventually apologised but kind of spoiled our memories.

Book quickly before someone else does!!!! This has got to be the highlight of our Thailand trip. The bungalows are perhaps not the cheapest ones on the island, but still ...what value for money! We felt like we were in a honeymoon suite, the view, the interior decorating, the bathroom... The restaurant was our favourite too, the BBQ fish and BBQ chicken and Cashew Nut Chicken stir fry are all MUSTS! You will love it here...if we go back to Ko Phangan, this is where we will stay and one of the main reasons for returning. (...I dont work for Cookies, it just really is this incredible.)

Beutiful view. The door lock dos not work on the first bugalow that we got. Hotel is very far from Tong Sala pier, Haad Rin and even closest market. If you dont t rent a motorbike movieng between yhe the differet beaches can be quite a expensive, for example ride from Tong Sala pier cost 150-200 b/ person.

Overall I give cookies salad resort a 3 out of 4 stars. The staff was very pleasant, and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and safe. The food at the restaurant is decent. The thai food is better then the american dishes, but be sure to bring some antiacid pills if you expect to eat the local cuisine.I have never experienced heart burn before in my life until I ate local thai food.I only have a couple complaints in regards to my stay at cookies. The electrical power can go out quite frequently, but this is not limited to cookies. All of the island will loose electricity, but most places have back up generators so that at least the reception area has power. This usually only occurs at night. My other issue was with the power to the individual rooms. When you enter your room you must place your key in a holder that alows your room to recieve electricity. When you leave your room and take the key with you the electricity turns off. The reason is to not waist electricity air conditioning your room while you are not in it. Compleatly reasonable, but if you want to recharge a camera, ipod, or some other kind of battery you can only do so if in your room. As far as the beach is concearned I would say that it is also 3 out of 4 stars. It is good for kids due to the lack of waves and shallow water, but the beach is not very big, and there is some bits of sea sludge in the water. The water is very warm and is great for floating on an inflatable raft.One other thing that deserves mentioning is the insects. Just be sure to wear insect repellent. Haad salad beach, like all parts of the island has many inscets, so be prepared. Overall I think cookies is a good value for everything you recieve and I would consider staying there again.

Nice, spacios bungalow in natural style. Safe was very small but ok. Lying in the hammock was very relaxing as well while raining. The included breakfast was only one set, either toast or yoghurt or eggs. The construction site was more annoying than expected. The pool was big and nice. The wooden pool-chairs could be softer. Staff, especially the lady-boss were very friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious.

Das Hotel an sich ist ganz nett und die Zimmer entsprechen der Beschreibung. Das Frühstück ist spärlich. Eier nach Wunsch mit Toast, Marmelade, Butter,Nescafe und Instant- Orangensaft. Wir haben das Hotel nach einer Nacht gewechselt, da sich direkt neben dem Hotel eine Großbaustelle befindet, die über den ganzen Tag ziemlich Baulärm verursacht. Der Strand ist in den 2 Wochen mit Niedrigwasser über den ganzen Tag nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet, da das Wasser erst außerhalb des Riff (150 m entfernt) tief wird.Im Bereich des Hotels ist dies sehr stark ausgeprägt und die Bucht voller Steine. Die Bucht an sich ist schön mit einigen weiteren Resorts und Restaurants. Tauch - und Schnorchelausflüge können bei den Rocksail Divers gebucht werden und sind empfehlenswert. Die Anbindung nach Thong Sala ist mit 200 Baht für die einfache Strecke mit dem Songthaew recht teuer.

This is a great place to stay. Really friendly and very chilled atmosphere. The beach is a lovely little cove, but at this time of the year the sea doesn't come in far enough for swimming.. thankfully Cookies has a great pool. One negative word though.. we had room 1, right by the pool, but the air con just couldn;t keep the bungalow cool enough. They need to install a bigger unit or a second one in the room. But all in all I would stay here again, it was great.
