The bungalow was o.k., but for EUR 50,-- not really nice inside. The location was great, direct on the beach front. The door of the bungalow was hard to close - actual broken. The Hotel staff was looking every day unhappy and not really friendly, but we think this is because the very bad manager - a women who is sitting the whole day in the restaurant and waiting till somebody of her stuff is making a fault. Very bad atmoshphere. We feel sorry for the stuff. Apart from that the food in the restaurant is very good - real tasty thai food. The breakfast we didn´t like. It was to european.

Central cottage offers variety of services, althoug not as warmly welcoming/smiling as traditionally in Thailand. Beach front bungalow, 10 meters to the sea, nice. Thong Nai Pan Yai beach is a paradise for couples, but not for constant party seekers.

Hello, first i have to inform you that we left the hotel after only one night. The reasons for this were: 1. I never before saw hotel staff that seemed to be on holyday and not the guests. Their motto seemed to be live could be so easy without the nerving tourists . 2. The bathroom was not only simple, it was not clean. 3. Our room was the closest to a nearby bar that entertained us until 3:30 in the morning. Of course not a problem thats caused by the hotel, but i like to sleep in the holiday's nights and that was completly impossible. Yours sincerely, Ralf

We booked even after reading how someones hair turned orange. After arriving and swimming in the pool for less than a hour the hair of our daughter (who is blonde) turned green. As we complained the manager said that it is not so bad? Also the hut smelled mouldy so we moved again the next day. I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you like bad service and discolored hair. Håkan Hagenrud

Horrible place. We left after only 3 hours. The cottage was in bad shape, extremely hard bed, the floor has spaces in between the floorboards, the towels had holes and not fresh at all. The staff was very unfriendly and lazy. Some of them laid at the reception sleeping. No good vibe over this place at all. The beach was not good either so stay away from here and go somewhere else if you want value for your money.

Мы решили остановиться на пляже Тонг Най Пан Яй, так как нашли в интернете рейтинг пляжей Пхангана, и этот пляж стоял на первом месте. Счастлива сказать, что мы не прогадали! Пляж расположен на северо-востоке острова, представляет собой лагуну в форме полумесяца с очень живописным видом, белым и мелким как мука песочком и прозрачной водой. Мы выбрали самый дорогой номер из имеющихся в этом отеле – Luxury Room. Он располагался в вилле, которая разделена на два номера. У каждого номера своя терраса с шезлонгами, столиком и креслами. Вилла стоит прямо на пляже, поэтому от входа в номер до моря было шагов 15! Номер сам по себе просторный, в нем установлена большая двуспальная кровать и еще одна односпальная – так что можно спокойно разместиться втроем. Есть телевизор со спутниковыми каналами и DVD-плеер. Есть чайник-бойлер, чашки-ложки и ежедневно сотрудниками отеля бесплатно пополняется запас чая и кофе, сахара. Очень порадовал новый бесшумный кондиционер Panasonic. Номер оформлен в тайском стиле, с использованием красного дерева и картин с аппликацией на стенах. Раздвижные двери номера стеклянные, и когда утром раздвигаешь шторы – видишь перед собой фантастическую панораму белоснежного пляжа, красивейшую лагуну, яркое солнышко… «Это просто рай!» - думала я каждое утро, потягиваясь в кровати и любуясь на это великолепие. У отеля есть ресторан с видом на море, есть бильярд (бесплатно), есть бассейн с водопадиком и джакузи. В отеле есть маленький магазинчик, но я рекомендую ходить в пляжный супермаркет Starlight, что находится слева от отеля. Там большой выбор и продуктов, и напитков, и других вещей – от пляжной одежды до кремов для загара и множество тайских сувениров. Здесь же можно купить карточку на wi-fi интернет. Точки wi-fi есть по всему пляжу, поэтому в своем номере вы без проблем сможете сидеть с ноутом и выходить в сеть. Стоимость безлимитного интернета на сутки – всего 199 бат. Завтраки в отеле были однообразными с небольшим выбором: овощи, сосиски, жареный бекон, омлет или глазунья, мюсли, блинчики с джемом, один вид сыра, фрукты, соки-чай-кофе. Наверное, из-за того что отель сам по себе дешевый, завтраки тоже не блистали разнообразием. Мои благодарности всем, кто написал отзывы про этот остров, которые помогли нам с моим мол.челом сделать свой выбор, а также сайту asiahotels.ru, через который мы дешево забронировали отель на Пхангане и отель в Бангкоке.

this time we stayed in a cheap bungalow: I know we could find the same for less but the service is what really makes the difference. The hotel is nice and clean, the garden is perfect as the beach front. The restaurant has an international menu and it's the cleanest I ve ever seen in Thailand (I took a look at the backoffice too). The staff is always efficent and polite and anyting I needed I just had to ask and I had it.

I wasn't impressed with the Central Cottage nor the area it was located. The beach was lacking waves. Great for a family with small children. We stayed in the 500baht bungalow and ours happened to be located right next to the bar where they played loud music until 12:00 or 1:00am. We asked to be moved to a quieter location and were told okay in the morning but then someone knew came and we were stuck. Also, the lock on the door was sketch. It was obvious someone had previously messed with the knob for entry. All in all, I would say to choose a different part of the island. This location is somewhat remote maybe a 45 minute ride from the pier. Taxis are expensive as in 300baht per head if not more. The road is mostly dirt and is quite unsafe to travel on a moto if you choose to rent one to see other areas of the island. Beware if you do rent a moto be sure not to crash it. If you do you will pay. There is a really cool place to the right side of the beach I think called the Paradise where you can find fantastic food.

If you are looking to relax and unwind and lie on a very beautiful beach in peace with a good book and cold beer without being harrassed by people trying to sell you little wooden frogs, flutes, corn, etc...then this place is it! Stayed in the superior beach front bungalow which probably had the most comfortable, soft beds I have ever slept in, with the sliding door basically opening up on the beach. The rest of the hotel and restuarant is good value for money...if you don't like the restuarant, ther are many other nice ones just a couple of steps away on each side.

Had a superiour chalet C41 alongside massage area. Everything worked fine. Great view to beach/sea. Stayed 6 nights, chalet cleaned/stocked 4 times. Staff young but efficient. Had to chase up transfer from Thong Sala. Snorkling trip cheaper here also.

Very pleasant accommodation in good location, majority of staff were very friendly and helpful. Food quality is excellent and arrives extremely quickly, laundry service was good, prices were average fo this area. Only problems were that the pool was a little dirty, the room was not cleaned every day which we would expect for what we paid and the lack of security deposit safe for our valuable belongings was a real concern. Overall a nice resort and would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation on this beach.

Location is really centrally on the beach. We stayed in a delux bungalow with a nice garden view. The room was ok, bed was comfortable and the a/c was fine. The cleening was a bit poor, but no ants or other crawlies in the room. Overall the room was just fine. Shower pressure was good, but bathroom a bit dark. Nice with a big refridgerator. Breakfast was ok, but not much to choose from. The staff was ok, some were a bit annoyingly staring at you while eating breakfast. But we did not experience any rudness from them. The pool was nice.

The hotel is like its name at the center of the Tong Nai Pan. Great rooms at prices that would suit all kinds of budget. We stayed at 2 superior beach rooms with AC and hot water but the fan bungalows ( at much lower prices )were right by our room. And we did not need AC that much. The rooms are right on the beach. The staff at the hotel are wonderful. Only they charge 3% if you pay by credit card. There is an internet room. The breakfast is very basic but ok. The restaurant is convenient but there are nicer places along the beach. Havana beach club has a very good barbecue. The beach like a piece of heaven. It is very quiet and peaceful.

Central Cottages is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. We paid about US$70 for a room (which is alot in thailand) and there was no hot water the entire time. The receptionist lied to us and said the hot water would be fixed within 24 hours, but we later found out that the hot water system was broken and they did not want us to downsize our room. The service was awful. Everyone from the receptionist, to the cleaning staff and even the restaurant waiting staff were rude. The hotel is on an awful beach, and it takes about 45 mins on a very bumpy road to get to the main town. The hotel will gladly pick you up from the pier to take you to the hotel, but they charge to take you back to the pier when you leave- even if your booking includes transportation costs. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The stress is not worth it, especially when you are meant to be on holiday!!!

Generally okay. The rooms serviced every 3 days and towels quite dirty and torn. No hot water for showers 5 days out of 7. Staff friendly but not very good at sorting out any problems. Food okay. Good beach for swimming. A couple of nice bars on the beach and also on the back road into the resort.

No complaints about the room, we stayed in superior bungalow, more than adequate. I don't know whether we caught them on an off week, but the staff were not the friendliest Thai's I have ever met! It felt like everything was a chore for them and you were just a nuisance. Do not go here in November, resort was almost all closed, still very much the rainy season, unless you like eating your dinner with the local cobra! It was a great shame really, because I could imagine this place to be heaven on earth in the sunshine, maybe even the the staff might lighten up!

fine reort at very nice beach. Sometimes the rooms didn´t been cleaned, usually only every 2 days. Breakfast is included for all rooms and bungalows (only small island hut not). towels for pool are free, some lies for beach also accessible. very good and cheap food in the restaurant, kindly stuff. The best option are the rooms (Standard hotel), they have the best acommidation (separated shower / toilet) and are cheaper then the big hut´s and beach front room.

500 baht beach bungalows were clean. big. good location. Only complaint would be the fan. It is not a ceiling fan but rather a small fan that is located at the head of the bed. I found it very annoying. Staff was friendly. Internet was expensive as was the beer. but then again it is a remote beach location.

Tong Nai Pan Yai is heavenly - Central adds to it. Pool is a big bonus. Cheap A frames too ( not via SiameServices )that gives you access to all. Breakfast limited but OK. Price is good. Restaurant food very good. Check out Dolphin - its great. Climb over or transfer to Tong Nai Pan Noi for a little bit more action if necessary.

Being a special occasion, we stayed in a superior beach front AC room (C23)which was expensive for Thailand, and was a bit tired however the location/view (right on the beach) more than made up for this.The staff are very friendly/helpfull and the food is great. Central Cottages location is ideal. There is building work taking place here, but is hardly noticeable. Would def stay here again, but in a cheaper hut.

Booked this on internet while we were travelling, thinking it would be nice to get off the boat and check straight in to bungalow. It was literally a shed on the edge of the beach and it hadn't been cleaned from previous occupants. There was a big building site right in front of the bungalow. We checked out straight away and walked up the beach and found much better and cheaper about 200m away.

I stayed with a friend in a superior bungalow - and I want to go back! :-) 5 seconds from the beach, air-conditioning and TV (who needs that?), clean, no bugs, nice staff, massage at the beach, very tasty and cheap food... I had a great time! One important thing: DO NOT go on a longboat with more than 15 people! I went to the full-moon-party in the south of Koh Pha Ngan by longboat. There were about 35 people on it - no space left. We nearly sank, one second later or one splash of water more... Scary, irresponsible and life-threatening! On the way back it was ok (as we were 16 people). Be sure to put your belongings into a plastic bag (mobile, digi-cam, money...) as we were soaking wet from the sea spray.

Very good position in a paradisiac beach! Deluxe bungalows are spacious enough but cleaning room service is not very good. Very good the restaurant and staff very kindly.

I was 26 & alone, there were only 10 other humans I saw on the whole beach, 4 of them staying at Central Cottage. This place would be lovely if you were with a group of friends or wanted a remote island feel but you d have to stay in the concrete rooms, not the wooden air-con huts. I woke up to a cockroach every day, room smelt damp too. The restaurant was brilliant, LOADS of choice, pool table, freezing internet cafe, loud good music from the DJ every night, raised area with floor beds to chill out on both in the restaurant & on the beach. Could be brilliant if in a nice room & with people. Lots of staff, fairly friendly but it was just sooo dead there when I went in low season they would sit with you while you decided what to order & sometimes a bit moody because they were obviously bored. NOTHING AT ALL out the front of the resort, so eating & drinking would be between their restaurant & the other 6 small resorts along the same beach. Nice for relaxing, no pool but a massive shop near buy selling great clothes & everything else you could want. Nicest beach 10 secs away I saw in Thailand!!

Central Cottage was a great location. Great beach and a back packers paradise. I would not advise for families or the elderly. However the best idea would be to book your first night through siameservices.com Then the next nights of your stay bargin for a cheaper price or try one of the many bungalows located right next to Central Cottage on the beach. There are some that are cheaper. The staff was pleasant, but watch out for Eye(don't know the spelling but that's how its pronounced) she's a great saleswomen. The bar at the hotel is the best on Thong Nai pong. If you plan to go to bed early ask for a room away from the bar. Other than that had a great experience and would travel again. If you plan to go to full moon party stay on this beach. It's much more relaxed, very clean and away from the crowds.

while central cottages and thong naipan yai beach is changing it's a wonderful change with more families and a larger variety of people, age groups and cultures..i have been coming here for many years and the staff are still warm friendly and casual...the food is fabulous and the beach looks better and better.. thankyou for letting me share the beach and have a wonderful holiday..i recommend central cottages to people who dont want too much fuss and like to keep their holidays simple,rich and inexpensive. mary bruce

This was our third trip to Central Cottage & we had mixed feelings. As usual the food was amazing - the seafood BBQs are cheap & delicious - the massages amazing value & fun staff. The waiting staff are nice altho the owners keep themselves to themselves & don't go out their way to welcome you. The trips we did to the Full Moon Party & the National Marine parks were well organised & fun. Accomodation-wise, we tried the new luxury beach front accomodation this time. We were disappointed there was not as much privacy as a detached bungalow (the rooms are 3 in a row next to each other) & you can't put up a hammock! The main annoyance tho was at night you could really hear the pounding of the soundsystem from the bar which is fine if you re there on a party night but even on quiet nights, they would still crank it up even with only 3 people there! We began to feel we could not get to sleep if we did not hear My humps my humps my humps for the millionth time!!! If you re looking for a fun place to stay & especially as a backpacker, the garden rooms which we stayed in before as backpackers ourselves are great value (book for the first couple of nights then haggle when you get there for a longer stay). However if like us on this trip, you re returning on a holiday & want a bit of luxury & quiet - look elsewhere. The new luxury rooms are clean , basic & have a great view but that's about it. You can get more comfortable rooms - or modern bungalows - for the same money further up each end of the beach.
