The beach at Had Rin Nai (west) is one of three white sand beaches that
lie on the west coast of the Had Rin peninsula. Here the occasional
mangrove populates the coastline and the beaches take on a dreamy deserted
feel, perfect for secluded sunbathing and sunset strolls.
Tall coconut palms lean into the tranquil bay that is protected by a live coral reef; here divers and smokeless can find a wonderful variety of sea life and mesmerizing corals, whilst sun worshipers can find solitude and peace away from the crowds at Had Rin.
Had Rin Nai is far quieter than its counter part, with no clubs, a few chilled beach bars and plenty of great places to eat. There are three different types of immaculately clean bungalow with
a range of sleeping options to suit most requirements. All of our older
style bungalows have been refurbished to include air-con and hot water
and are available for very reasonable prices.

2 nice pool s minimal breakfast. toilet flushing had issues and sink was glogged with what looked like vomit...fixed it myself to avoid waiting half naked for staff. more or less cheap and it shows. (they are building a shooting range next to the hotel...thats a bit scary for quiet vacation).

The hotel was great. good location and good set up. The staff speak english well and are very helpful. the prices are reasonable at the resteraunt and the food is excellent. Recommended for anyone who wants to stay somewhere with a great view of the beach, but not the mayhem of the full moon party beach. two thumbs up!

This hotel could use some TLC. The pool area was messy with dirty dishes and broken glass. The pool furniture was falling apart, the umbrella stands if you were lucky enough to have an umbrella didn't support the umbrella which would fall over with the slightest breeze. The entire place was poorly managed. The rooms were below average, especially for the money being charged. When I requested a comment card to voice these issues I was handed a blank sheet of paper and asked to write my comments.

We stayed here for three nights - our second stay at this hotel following a trip three years earlier. From what we ve seen it is definitely one of the better resorts in Haad Rin - the staff are good, the pool is clean, and most importantly the location is excellent!! On the good side the two pools are lovely - one is located centrally in the hotel and is very quiet - the other is directly on to the beach and has a very good pool bar including a towel service. It is also an amazing place to view SUNSET, which is spectacular!! Our allocated room was on the ground floor, but as mosquitoes love me, we asked for an upper floor and were accommodated without any hassle. The tourist desk also offers a moped hire service and for 200 baht per day (about £4) the bike we hired was in perfect condition and was brilliant for travelling around the island - but be VERY careful - the roads aren't great (bit's missing, big hills getting out from Haad Rin to Thong Sala) and further north east are basically clay, but if you know what you are doing a great way to get around. On the negative, the resort appears to have nothing done in the last three years - I d describe it as a posh way of roughing it - the rooms are good in size, but could do with a bit of a freshen up and the sunloungers have definitely seen better days... Great if you want to party (close enough to walk to SUNRISE), but also far enough out that you'll get a decent nights sleep.

We stayed at Phanganburi in a Corner Suite for a week. All in all the rooms are overpriced. For the same price you will get a much nicer room on Samui. It is a typical 2-star resort. Our suite, room 3217, was ocean facing but had mostly tree-view. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not. Housekeeping was slow and not very good. There are two quit nice pools, but the sun bed mattresses were dreadful (200 years old and mouldy!). The beach had not the best sand and the seafloor is a bit muddy.

Good location to the full moon party beach and centre. Watching the sunset by the swimming pool is beautiful as it looks onto the sea. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spacious and clean. We had no problems with towels/sheets. Massage and other beauty treatments were good.The restaurant is really disappointing! The restaurant is the pool bar and for the price we were paying per night in Thailand we expected a little more. The food is not great and after one lunch we didn't venture back. Breakfast buffet is ok. However if going back to that area of the island we would stay here as it is nice and close to centre but away from the noise. Instead of going to Tong Sala to get the boat back to Koh Samui, there is a pier close to the hotel with boats that go also. The boats there are 5mins more in duration. Don't bother with a pick up service, there are plenty of taxis that you can take from tong sala. The pick up is overpriced.

I was disappointed, I have called in morning before to take my flight at Bangkok for the pick up in time at Koh Phangan, but they siad me when I arrive sorry sir we forgot ??? and when I arrived at hotel they asked to me how much I paid for to refund money but when I left they asked to me to pay the taxi and it not was hospitable I don't come back on this resort and I don't recommend it????

Hotel grounds and pools were excellent, some of the staff especially the desk manager was very rude and unhelpful-you would expect fresh towels every day especially when it was the most expensive hotel we stayed in! Noi fresh towels 4days out of five, no water daily, internet in rooms did not work, no hairdryer and as it was monsoon season, when you need umbrellas-they were only in some rooms because some were broken !! All these were staed to be part of the stay here! When we asked for these things the desk manager said he would get them, but do you think we saw anything! NO! Beautiful hotel but needs to keep on track of how it is run!

We booked a beachfront bungalow which I suggest is the way to go on this resort. The rooms were fairly comfortable.I cannot speak highly enough of the ladies at the massage salon who were naturally friendly and warm. However, this resort needs a major face-lift as the facilities are run down including the restaurant area so dont expect great food. Breakfast was very disappointing.There is also no pool bar which also disadvantages this resort.

Very nice hotel situated at a convenient distance from party related noise at night. The surroundings, however, are not particularly attractive. The area is extremely dirty (they burn garbage along the side of the street) and it is evident that it is mainly aimed at attracting backpackers. BUT - the hotel was fine, the room was clean and the pool area great. The food is not excellent, but very cheap and actually much better at the hotel than in the city centre.

The hotel was lovely, very nice rooms but a little small. Both pools were immaculate. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had problems with the AC on 4 occassions which led us to leave 5 days early. The engineer each time came out and fixed the AC one time it was at 3 AM !!!! not what we wanted to deal with on a vacation. The beach is awful if you want to call it a beach !! No ocean swimming or it can be extremely hazardous due to the very rocky conditions. I will return to the Phanganburi Resort for a sedentary vacation for sure. The FULL MOON party was absolutely outrageous !!!!!

Nice hotel with great pool area and very friendly staff. Bungalow was nice and clean, had a good location and a nice sea view. Excellent spa!! A bit far from downtown, and there is not much light on the roads when its dark. We could have wished it was a bit closer, then the hotel had been perfect.

Nice resort in a good location right near the Haad Rin beach where the full moon party is. The restaurant was good, staff friendly and the pool is nice. Only issues were that the beach that the hotel is on, is fairly average and there are a million staff who always made noise in the morning and woke me up. There was a much nicer spot on the other side (North?) of the island where there is a cove, with a nice semi-surf beach and better settings. A lot of the Germans stay there. Highly recommend getting a bike and going round the island, some great views!

i liked the hotel. the staff was very friendly and spoke different languages which made it easy to communicate. they had continuous taxi(some free) stopping at hotel to bring guest to beach. it was very clean and for the price worth it. i would not reccommend getting any further from the haad rin beach than phanganburi. this is about as far away as you can get before it is a horrible hassle. some place around the island, i would not stay at for free. getting taxi's will cost a lot because you will frequently be going back and forth from the beach.

Accomodation was a little beyond our budget, but was an excellent place to chill out for a few days in comparative luxury. Only complaint would be the showers, The most drought affected parts of Australia would use more water.

The Phanganburi Resort is a great hotel in a fantastic location, definitely the best hotel to stay in near Haad Rin. It is located on the quieter sunset beach {Haad Rin Nai}with two pools, but only 5-10 mins walk away from all the action - all the fun, but none of the noise. Breakfast has improved from last year, the staff are more organised. All the staff were friendly, spoke good English, + very helpful. The rooms are clean + nicely decorated, they have all you need -mini bar, air conditioning, hot water, + TV. Free pick up from Haad Rin pier was great -just ring them the night before to arrange. Great place if your after a bit of comfort, but want GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! They say its not the place but the people who makes something good. In Phangan Buri's case they are both excellent. The surroundings are as nice as you will find on koh phangan and the staff were excellent!!! in particular Zo and Steve who are waiters in the bar! The only real issue we had was with airport transfers as the girl at reception forgot to send someone but after i called them they had someone meet us at haad rin pier. I chose Phangan buri on the recommendations of two friends who recently stayed there and i was not dissapointed!!!! Say hi to Zo and steve for me!!!!

Good and easy however, wether it was siamwebhosting's fault or the hotel, we did not have a transfer meet us at the airport as requested. But apart from that they give me a good vibe and made me feel secure with my service. I have also booked 2 other hotels with them.

actually quite a nice hotel. nevertheless, to expensive for what you get. we stayed for 4 days, no cleaning in this 4 days, only new towels and made the bed. the kitchen is poor for thai-standard, but service is friendly. price for service and the rooms is just too expensive.
