Bhumiyama is a combined word : Bhumi ( poom ) means land
or place, yama is a realm of heavens in Buddhism where deities and beings
who have accomplished (done) noble deeds come to dwell in opulent peace
and tranquility. We are a small luxury Thai style beach resort in tropical garden setting with 45 rooms fitted with air condition, hot water, separate bath tub and shower, in room safety box and all amenities. Our land is flanked by a crystal clear turquoise sea and pristine tropical jungle of the national park. You will be waking up to the sound of soft, caressing wave and wild bird chirping. We are on Koh Chang ( Chang Island ) in Trat province,
the eastern most province of Thailand. Koh Chang is the second largest in
Thailand after Phuket. However more than 80 present of the land is the

Ours beach resort in tropical garden surroundings with 45 rooms fitted with air condition and all facilities in the room plus safety box all amenities. Nevertheless more than 80 present of the land is the Park Forest reserve, that’s the main reason why we are chosen as our home, to build a tropical resort, in an uncluttered traditional Thai style with all modern facilities & services. A large amount of our guests relax in a natural and surroundings with tropical forest to the rear, white sand and Turquoise Ocean to the front. Our beach is called " Tha Nam" beach or the more well-known name will be " Lonely Beach" make famous by travelers who commented in Lonely Planet as to be the best and most beautiful on Koh Chang.Bhumiyama Beach Resort
Accommodation and facilities:
First time in Koh Chang after many holidays in Phuket ans Samui. Awesome beach, very quiet (Even for Songkran). Renting canoe for 80 bht / hour just near the hotel. You will need a taxi or bike to go to the city. Nice hotel, trying to be upscale ... Nice Garden View Room. We had some minor problems with hot water, service guy arrive 2 mn after to fix it. Breakfast is ok, sometimes cold. The view from breakfast table is outstanding. Nice pool with Jacuzzi. Many chairs to relax at pool or near the beach. Overall good short stay but need more smiles around ... Except this, good hotel, a little overpriced for the quality. At 2.500 THB / day, this can be much better. We dont need upscale with air-cond 5th generation ... that this is so complex to use :-)) ... medium scale with more smiles can be better. Recommended for tranquillity / couple / children who dont want to go out by night.

this is the 5th time we have stayed at the Bhumiyama (I think) and we had a perfect holiday. The garden view rooms we had were great as they were bigger and nice and cool with tile floors. All the staff were friendly and familiar with us and helped to provide a very relaxed atmosphere. As we have a young family we spent most of our time at the pool which was brilliant and enabled our 3 year old to learn how to swim unaided!! I cant wait until we go back there again.

A lovely place to stay! Very relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the service is good, all is well functioning. The restaurant was very nice, with tables directly by the beach, and the food was good. Nice breakfast included in the price. The hotel is located directly at the beach and has a beautiful garden. There is also a lovely pool area. A wonderful spa with different kinds of Thai massage was a great experience - don´t miss it! The hotel has its own beach area with chairs and great beach service. The only negative thing during my stay was caused by other hotels around, who played loud music late at night several times.

I was very disapointed with this hotel. The hotel its self looks nice with a lovely pool area. However the service was terrible, We had a problem with our aircondtioning the smell was relly bad, when i asked reception about it she told me it was most likely a dead rat!! but did absoultly nothing about it. There answer to fixing this problem, after i had to ask a few times was to stuff the aircon with some rags that had been soaked in some kind of perfume, which just made matters worse. In the end as they refused to move us we asked for a Fan so we did not need the air con. The room was fairly basic and not that comfortable the pillows in particular were very old and lumpy. We had freinds staying near by in another hotel. They had a much nicer room with working air con and paid less. So shop around!!!

I am very disappointed with the hotel. The main reason is because almost everyone at the hotel became sick during different periods. We heard that they had problems over new year where a large number of people become sick. But when we called the hotel confirmed that the problem was solved. After two days I become sick, then my husband and our little son. We do not know if we can relate it to the food. When we started talking to people we find out that 90 procent had been sick. Some had to visit the hospital. We stayed for 9 days and saw people come and go and everyone become sick. When we asked the hotel what they did to solve the problem we did not get any answers. They said it was related to other restaurants food. Impossible I would say. The room was nice, but the area not so nice. The gras was brown and they did not carry trash or bottles or food served at the pool away. It was noicy because of party at different places around this hotel. I would not recommend people to stay here and I would not return.
