If you want a relaxing weekend stay away from the hustle & bustle of the city, this is the place to come. Many places to visit nearby, tour staff in resort is friendly and willing to assist with our needs. Traditional Thai massage was excellent!! Highly recommended!! Cheap, delicious Thai food, although menu is limited. Recommend to travel by bus to the resort's own pier and 5 minute boat ride up stream to the resort. DO NOT attempt to drive there esp. at night since the roads are remote with no street lights. You literally need to drive 50 kms around another hill to get to the resort on the other side.

Reservation service:
Very helpful in changing reservation dates....service-minded, call center staff easy to talk to, speaks moderate English.

Accommodation and facilities:
It was a nice accommodation closed to the River Kwai. To get to the resort, it took about 4 minutes speed boat travel. This was my the most favorite moment. However, when hopped on the land, scenic was pretty good also. The room wasn't very perfect (some problem with the door's knob) though everything else was good. The down side is the cooking skill. I took a la carte that night and it was not good enough. (or just only what i had)

nice location but the place is pretty much run down. New bedshhets and towels would be a good start, next a thorough revision of the airconditioners. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner could also be a step above mass tourist fudder at the price they are asking for it.

Most enjoyable stay but I did ,ention to the management two things. 1. The pool is not refreshing as it's too hot. A reverse osmosis to cool the pool down to about 28-30 degrees would be very acceptable. 2. There are no post cards or stamps for sale. Tourists like to buy them and send them home.

Accommodation and facilities:
Excellent service and beautiful facility. Food was superb and more than ample! Our room was comfortable, clean, and always felt cool. There were ants, worms, etc. that are all part of the jungle experience as this facility is much farther into the jungle than I had expected; but was pleased with. The only point that needs improvement is the initial ride upriver to the hotel with all the luggage and overloaded boat. We did not feel safe and did not expect to have to take off our shoes, carry heavy luggage on top of rocks into the water in the rain. An optional boarding spot should be considered when the river is low and the weather is inclement. Otherwise, the facility was beautiful and our tour guide, Mr. Kha, was fantastic. We will recommend this to others with the consideration to be prepared for river travel and wear shoes that are river worthy and pack cameras etc. for river travel.

Communication with the hotel and booking agency were fast and convenient.

This was our forth stay at the River Kwai Resotel. The resort is set in amazing gardens along the River Kwai with majestic mountains on both sides of the resort. We love this resort as it is the perfect place to relax and unwind and a getaway from the city. The resort is well situated for various activities and visits such as: the Lawa cave, elephant riding, rafting, a visit to the Mon village, the Saiyok National Park and waterfalls, the Erawan National park and waterfall, the Hellfire Museum, etc. Taking a ride in a longtail boat on the river to and from the resort is a lot of fun. The bungalows are very comfortable and well appointed in Thai style. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next visit to the Resotel.

Accommodation and facilities:
- Resotel staff are very capable, kind, generous, energetic and helpful. - Room and facilities are alright, excepted that they shouldn't let their steamroom closed. Swimming pool is very neatly maintenance. - Garden is explicitly noticed that in a routinely take care of. - Thai typical food dishes are very good! Western is also nice too. By the way, they should provide more options or choices in the buffet lines. They can add a higher food cost in the package. I think visitors at this hotel is exlucive guests and are able or willingly pay for more that add more value or choices to them. - Breakfast buffet line menu should replace once a year and add more choices too. - All in all they have niche market for those who seek exotic, prime taget group or local Thai who are modern and in the upper class segment. they can pay more for nicer options. I think I will visit there at least once a year to refresh my mind and my soul.

Well organised full board tour, took in most major highlights of Kanchanaburi but also allowed plenty of free time to relax in between. The 2 days, 3 nights seemed much longer. The Mon Dance was surprisingly good too & our Mon guide was also very helpful, and always willing to assist us (from carrying luggage to serving our food) which made the trip more enjoyable(& he didn't seek a tip!). Having seen what you get for the same price at the nearby Jungle Rafts I m very happy we chose the hotel. The rooms were clean & comfortable, and the grounds were all very well kept. Would reccomend this tour

We booked a 3 day/2 night trip on the River Kwai, with SiameServices.com, over the internet. SiameServices were excellent in answering pre-booking queries, and we were collected from our Bangkok hotel, exactly as planned. My wife and I both regard the whole trip as a bargain. We thoroughly enjoyed the visits to the Bridge over the River Kwai, and museum, but the real treat was the two night stay, with excursions, at the Resotel. Although the hotel sometimes got a bit busy at mealtimes, generally speaking the resort was quiet and peaceful, and travelling everywhere by boat was exciting. The staff and guides at the hotel were mostly Burmese (from the nearby Mon village), and they are superb people, always willing to help. What a wonderful contrast to Bangkok, yet most visitors will never see it. We will definitely go back, and try to stay at least one night on the rafts, which were fully booked when we were there.

Location splendida.

We have just done the 3day/2night tour option to the Resotel. It was fantastic. We aren't normally in to tours but this one had the right mix of activities and free time. The resort itself is very unique. The bungalows are quite basic but are very nice. The buffet lunch and dinner was good with plenty of variety. Breakfast was ok. I think 3 days here is enough as the resort is very isolated. Would recommend it to everyone.
