This is a really pleasant resort where a significant amount of thought has been placed on getting both the essential and the small things right. superb staff who for us went out of their way to assist, particularly for one of our party who has ceoliac disease, and relies upon restaurant staff being willing to amend or adapt menus. The location is not quite alone on the river, but it's very pretty, great rooms, and wonderful for a relaxing break.

Surprised when they said my VISA debit card did not work (apparently unaware that VISA now do debit cards too!), but it was sorted efficiently and the communications were excellent.

Great boutique hotel, children and family friendly thanks to very pleasant and helpful staff. Our 3 nights in the Honeymoon suite made it a retreat out of time and stress. Great central location to visit the different national parks and even for a day trip up to Sangkhlaburi.

This was a perfect place to relax. The atmosphere is very magical and beautiful. Food was also very good and the staff were helpful when booking various trips. We have already recommended it to several friends traveling through Thailand and if possible we would definitely go back.

What à beautiful place! The rooms are great, the food is great and the staff very kind! They arranged à two day programm for us seeing the impressive scars of the second world war and we did rafting on the river, swimming and riding with the elefants. Our kids 9, 11 and 12 years old were very enthousiastic. It is absolutely worth while to go out of kanchanaburi for this beautiful and friendly spot.

The Raft resort was fantastic! I can only recommend the raft room though. The one problem was the thin walls. We had some neighbors our last night and we could hear everything.. and I mean everything.. they did or said. The restaurant was also only OK. They need to improve their menu. The area was great for walking, and close to lots of things to do, although you'll need a driver.

Beautiful resort, very peaceful surroundings if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Rooms were beautiful although the only negative was the walls were very thin and we could here next door snoring. In the evening there was nothing to do after you had eaten your evening meal. An evening bar or televisions in the rooms would of been nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The trips were well organized and well worth the money. You were driven in a private car from the hotel so no waiting around or hoards of people. My favorites were the tiger sanctuary and the elephant ride. I would recommend those two.

Very pleasant staying. Hotel was very nice location, facilities, accomodation and decoration. The only thing not pleasant is I can hear the noise from my neighbor room every word they say and even their cell phone vibrating( while they were out for dinner) X( . What I do is open a movie with my notebook to cover their noise( make more noise). Oh and there's no TV, but not a big deal, it rather be no TV noise better. Bed is comfort and soft. Bathroom is surprisingly comfort for a raft. I love this place

This was the second stay within three weeks and I ve been impressed both times. The hotel is small and focusses on the raft rooms, there are only 2 rooms available on dry land in the main building. The food in the restaurant is good and very reasonably priced. Staff are warm and friendly but efficient.

We stayed 2 nights in a river cabin, one word, Fantastic. The resturant food and service very good. Has a floating pool compound, so that you are actually in the river Kwai, but can not get carried away in the strong current. Is about 55kms, out of Kanchanburri. Would stay again.

The location is very good indeed. Perfect location, perfect view, perfect environment. Room quality is value for money. Just small things such as; the water in the shower room doesn't work if the room next door is using it in the same time. Room is very hot in the daytime, even we turned on the air-con for few hours (It would be great if staff could prepare the room before guest arrives). Hotel service is just average. You cannot expect staff there to be very friendly and smile like 4-5 stars resort. Overall is good for me. I would recommend this resort to others. BTW can you provide TV in the room???

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay,the staff were extremely helpful and although language can be a bit of a barrier at times, a few good smiles and gestures soon solved any issues.perfect location to head off and visit the many points of interest in the area without having to travel long distances.The walls on the river rafts are thin enough to hear conversation next door,but as these are floating structures, one really should not expect brick and mortar soundproofing.If i did not think it was worth going back there then i must question myself as to why both my wife and i feel that we would love to make a return visit to this resort.

Hotel staff is very friendly and provides all Kwai attractions. Raft rooms are very good, have all necessary appliances and can accommodate up to 3 persons. Location is OK although relatively far from village. In walking distance there is only small shopping corner with shop and bar.

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the Raft Bungalows, and we were very thrilled about the room and the views! It felt very exotic having the river flow right under you! The room was very nicely decoreated and spacious with 2 double beds, and the veranda facing the river with two lounge chairs was amazing. It had both a fan and AC, which came in handy in the 38 degree heat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On the downside there were no options to eat anywhere else than at the hotel restaurant, and the food was not very good. It was very bland and non-tasting to be Thai food. We made two tours , both of which the hotel arranged for us. One to the Tiger Temple, and one longtail boat trip to a waterfall. The tours were quite expensive (around 3000 Baht/tour for 2 persons) and not really worth the money. It was a very relaxing stay (as there is not much else to do there), and it was very quiet as the only guests were us 2 and a family from Denmark.

Lovely resort,very clean for a raft bungalow on river, and excellent value.Elephant trek and Elephant bathing 5 minutes away. Good food, although more choice perhaps could be given as the set breakfast would be little boring if you were there more than a few days. (More smiles from breakfast staff would be nice)Motorbike hire available. Reception staff and guide very very helpful, and made our stay more enjoyable. Thank you. 1 hour from Kanchanaburi. They had just built a small river swimming pool on departure. This will be a bonus, as you can\ t swim in river, water flow fast. Would definitely recommend.

The Raft Rooms where just very nice, with a great view. Since its a raft the walls are thin and you can hear the noices of neigbor rooms. But for me staying in this resort was a very good experience. Food was ok, breakfast bit simple but with fresh juice! I think all the guest can enjoin at this Resort.

Very good location as the room is floating on the river. However the quality of the room build is not that good. Very thin walls mean you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms, from conversations, snoring and people using the bathroom. Very quiet location in that no real facilites nearby in terms of restaurants etc. Small shops nearby. Restaurant menu in hotel was sparse. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Trips are expensive, particularly if travelling alone, as they are based on the number in the party and all stated as including admission tickets, but going to Hellfire Pass Museum, there is no admission fee anyway.

Would be a good place for a quiet getaway although the presence of loud construction noises during the hotel performing renovations during our stay dampened the experience. Staff tried to persuade us to vacate our room during these renovations with disregard to our intentions of sleeping in and relaxing. The resort served us undercooked fish and cold boiled rice on a few occassions.

This was a VERY unique style of accommodation - a very comfortable bamboo hut, air-conditioned, floating on a raft, moored along a fast flowing river. Off the balcony you could dangle your legs into the river water, listen to the rush of the river as you lay comfortably on your bed or deck chair, feel the gentle rock of the water. From the balcony you can watch the river life go past - the long boats, tourist rafts, locals crossing the rickety suspension bridge on foot or scooter. The adjacent restaurant/reception area served delicious, simple Thai meals that were very inexpensive. The staff were VERY helpful & friendly & various tours were organised by them with private guides. Down the road was a small village with a corner shop which supplied essentials. There was also a village restaurant that was open for lunch that supplied Thai-set lunches that were very cheap & delicious! This place is not handicap friendly, otherwise, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

We spent two nights at the Hotel on the river. And we can really recommend it. It´s nice little hotel with good service and very friendly staff. The room on a float of the River Kwai was perfect, all new and lovely furnished. We loved to sit at the terrace with our feets in the water.

This is probably my favorite trips during my stay in Thailand. Boutique Raft came highly recommended by a colleague, and I was not disappointed at all! Khun Wan and her husband were so hospitable and accommodating to me and my two guests visiting. They helped us to make a personalized package tour of exactly what we wanted to do, all of the preparations (meals, tours) were ready when we arrived at our destinations, and the rooms themselves were so lovely! What a site to wake up on the River Kwai. The only hitch was a delay in the train during our morning tour, but that was out of the hotel's control, and they were kind to suggest an alternative. Our driver for the two days was also kind, though our communication was a bit tough at times b/t my broken Thai and his broken English. Overall, I highly recommend Boutique Rafts and RCD Adventures (for our bamboo rafting, elephant riding, and elephant washing adventures).
