Basically you get what you pay for with this hotel. I had a few issues with one or two of the staff not being very helpful or friendly but we all have our off days i suppose? The rooms were cleaned to a resonable standard (got what you paid for). I think the whole of the hotel could do with a bit of a make over as it is looking a bit dated and worn. I would have no problem stopping here again depending on the price? All in all i would give this hotel a 6 out of 10.

Don't believe the photo on the website! the photo is the new half of the hotel (or building 2) I along with my girlfriend were unfortunately accommodated in building 1 which is much older and shabby looking. We were taken to our room and immediately struck by a stale smell, we put on the aircon in the hope that by the time we returned from dinner the smell would have dispersed, it hadn t. We stayed the night and asked to be moved to a new room next morning, we were duly moved to another room which though less smelly than the old one was still unacceptable. I duly made my own alternative arrangements and checked out after 1 night of a 7 night booking. it has to be said that the staff were courteous and helpful but they can only work with the material they have; the material in this case being an old hotel in dire need of refurbishment or indeed pulling down. Perhaps Building 2 is nicer but we were not offered that option.

As stated above the Photo on the SiamWebHosting site is a bit misleading in this case, the photo made the total look like a nice clean and modern place to stay which it was not. Perhaps more could be done to ensure information supplied by hoteliers is accurate? I also found it a bit strange that SiamWebHostinge wanted me to pay in full long before I arrived at the hotel, usually a reservation is held and paid on arrival. To their credit though SiamWebHosting responded well when I checked out of the hotel, they arranged for the nights I didn't stay to be refunded quite soon after I checked out.

The hotel room was fine, location is near the centre and there is good parking with security. Price 1050 was ok but wouldn't want to pay more. Pool is good but changing room is a little basic. The two downsides as I see it are the breakfasts which go downhill the later you go and the wait for cooked eggs, the other is the wifi which I am surprised is not free as other hotels in Udon and the price to use it. Handy having Yellow Bird at the back for a bit of late night entertainment and no noise travels to hotel.

I did leave a comments form at reception upon check-out. Our room was not good, it smelled because the air-con dripped water onto the carpet. Also, our bed sheets were badly stained and there were long black hairs on the bed and in the bathroom. I was disappointed as I have stayed at this hotel in the past and found it very good.

Me and my wife stay in Charoen hotel from 19-30 nov 2010 and its not much to complane about,its good location only 10-15 min walk to the city center (Robinson) 10 min to the bus station. The staff was realy polite and helpful.The breakfast was realy good ,the swimming pool was cleaned ever morning but if you like to swim alot i recomend you take with you swimming glases its lot of clor in the water.the elevator doors closed realy fast so if you have kids with you just have that in your mind.maby little hard beds but i diddent get hurt in my back.internet in the room is possible about 250 bath a week, overall we have realy realy good time at the hotel ,and we like to book this hotel again.

Wow, I was amazed. I have booked hotels that look great and been dissapointed. Not this one. They picked me up at the airport (not requested but appreciated). The service is great, I thought great beds, facilities ( pool area is great at night with live music). Good food. Definately go there again.

The staff are so warm and welcoming and the laundry service is second to none....This hotel should be re-classified as 5 star according to us! The service is so exemplimary! I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and find it very good value for money. One aspect needs to improved on however. he hotel has many Group Bokings and on my last two visits I have been disturbed by a volme of noise from group gatherings in one room. This time the noise went on well after midnght in spite of my tryng to quieten down those in the room opposite mine.Maybe groups could be given rooms on one floor only and in a block. On my previous trip an Army group from Hua Hin were the culprits.

This is one of the most comfortable hotel I ever stayed in Thailand. Friendly and helpful staff,near to the centre of the town,flat LCD TV on a wall(!!) with major channels,big double bed,clean room,very reasonable rate. Only thing I didn't like was hearing phone ringing to the caretaker desk out and near of my room since 4am. Next time I stay in the hotel I'll avoid this room( near the caretaker desk). The worst experience ever at any hotel. It wassobad I checked out 2 hoursafter checking in . The front desk was very lazy and made me wait even though I had reservations out . They acted surprized . The room was poorly lite and the fixtures did not work . But they made me wait an hour while they tried to fix things even after I had traveled a long distance . I asked for another room and that took more time because the little girls at the desk were inter surfing . When I finally had enough and checked and asked for a manager ,no manager came . This is one hotel from hell. Do not waste your time or money .

The place does need a lick of paint in places and the air-con was very noisy.the inside of the pool needs a serious look at ,many broken sharp edge tiles so could be dangerous for small children..the poolside service wasnt up to much. very slow in getting someones attention ..but my one big fault was on the mini bar i dont mind paying for goods ive used but i expect the same goods to be replaced and not get charged a 2nd time on the same items the next day but all was ok once i managed to explain after 4 days of the same..breakfast wasnt good for english customers who like a full english .simple things really because overall i enjoyed my stay there and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful..and yes id stay there again because its only a short walk to all the amenities..

For the city Udon Thani nice Hotel, very clean and good working airco. Staff friendly and no problem bringing someone. Very good food in the morning, the Hotel have is own disco wich every evening off the week full. Just ask for the new wing rooms because de Hotel have two building a new one and old one. I liked my stay here and will visiting next time same Hotel. Good price for Junior suite, these are two rooms with 2 televisions and two bathrooms.

Not our first choice, but since the Charoensri Royal was fully booked we decided to stay here. The Charoensri is more comfortable and luxerious but the service in Charoen makes up for that! Excellent service from very friendly and helpfull staff. Everyday a free newspaper in the room. The standerd room is sober and dated but very clean and quiet and all fittings worked fine. Only thing I missed was a good moviechannel on TV (like Star or Cinemax) - there is a moviechannel but shows only old dated movies. We fixed that with buying a 900 baht DVD player in the nearby shopping complex (tip for long stayers). Breakfast is simple - lunch and dinner buffet are excellent (imho better than Charoensri Royal which is so highly recommended by most reviewers and travel guides). All you can eat Asian dinner buffet for 130 baht! My Thai wife loved it. The swimming pool is a bit small, but clean with good service profided. Have not been to the gym yet. We liked this place so much that we stayed another 2 weeks here and we will be back next time!

The room was spacious and considered comfortable. However, the bath towel was smelly and it d be great if a kettle is provided. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There are cheap and nice food stall/restaurant nearby the hotel. The breakfast were ok but it d be good if they can change the menu on alternate day. The hotel provided airport transfer which was very convenient for us.

Good value for $28. Huge room, clean, comfortable, quiet. Good location for shopping and night life. Only one problem: being offered beautiful girl, very young again and again at reception, in the elevator, even on the phone. Other than that, recommended.

The free pick-up from the airport was an excellent bonus. As for the hotel, location wise, it's near to the Charoensri Shopping Complex. Condition wise, it's a budget hotel, so don't expect much.

Very impressed upon checking-in. Took me in all about 3 mins ONLY!! And during peak hour, 12 noon. Reception got keys and breakfast vouchers all prepared in an envelope. Overall hotel was clean though furnishings in room a bit old and worn. Breakfast was ok but ends a bit early (9am), so can't sleep late. Pleasantly surprised with complimentary airport transfer! Would definitely go back again.
