Was surprised by the luxurious spacious reception. Room was spacious as well, but not that luxurious although that was not an issue at all. Two A/Cs in the living room and in the bedroom. Everything was clean and tidy. Hotel is situated a bit off the city center but easy to reach by walk, never took a taxi through out our stay. I would add brighter lights in the rooms and more hooks for the towels in the bathroom. Worst thing was only breakfast there. Hard to believe but Thai dishes were worst I ever ate in Thailand. Had to take Intercontinental breakfast although I prefer Thai in general. Juice was made from powder... Would stay in the hotel but without breakfast.

I am so disappointed in your hotel. We had booked for 2 different dates because of your location. I found out very fast that the front desk people cannot speak very good English. I should have cancelled the 2nd booking but since I could not communicate very well with the front staff I was afraid they would not have a clue what I was talking about. Our friends came to meet us from Chiang Rai, when we first arrived and they were going to check into your hotel and gave the hotel the information I sent them. They went to the hotel and was told there was no one by our name so they decided to stay some place else. I just happened to call them when we arrived and they were at another hotel since the Maninarakorn Hotel said there was no information about us checking in they were upset since they made the trip and was told we were not at your hotel. I m glad we got the nightmare out of the way. Your room staff was very nice but again no English spoken. I feel that being in the service (hotel) industry it should be very important that people can speak to your guests without as many problems that we experienced, after all English is a universal language. By the way please update your bathrooms, why do they have black mold in the tiles in the bathrooms and are not cleaned so the tile looks clean for your guest? The food was terrible for breakfast and could not even communicate to the staff how bad things were handled such as trying to take our plates before we were done eating our meal. What's Up With the Hotel. We will never come back and if I have my way I would like a refund. You have our information at this point and would like to be refunded our money.

the hotel is chinese decoration and the room i booked is not in the main building. The room is very long with 3 seperated sections, living room, bath room and bed room. The only problem that i had to upgrade the room to the main building is the bed. It's a very old wooden bed that makes a very ugly noise every time you move on the bed. i travel alone so it's so annoying that a 1100 THB/ night room is worth for.

Accommodation and facilities:
The Maninarakorn is a new kid on the block in the Chang Mai hotel scene, but a good one. The central hotel is supplemented by two wings - where we stayed. The central block is the bells and whistles, all tidy, shiny and comfortable and where to go for breakfast and the pool/steam room. We didn't use the pool while their. It's a thin little thing, perfect for a quick dip but nothing more. You have to turn the steam room and sauna on for 20 minutes if you want to use them, as the area isn't manned at all. Breakfasts were ample enough, but the piece de resistance was the rooms. Of all the places we stayed during a three week holiday around Thailand, this hotel had the best rooms. Loads of space, separate bathroom and even had a lounge to relax in.

Reservation service:
So easy. Found out if there was space available, got a speedy response and then booked the hotel. Bish, bash, bosh. Done.

This was our second stay at Maninarakorn. Although there are some points we are not so glad about, we still would recommend this hotel. It is in a good condition (built only a few years ago), people at the reception speak good English, breakfast is brilliant. The old town as well as the Saturday market are in walking distance. Points, we are not glad about: 1) We booked a Deluxe Room and got an Superior (which also is not bad, but there are - despite of the price - these little differences ), 2) The hotel offers an shuttle to the airport ... which is more expensive than a taxi and much more expensive than a ordered Songthow (do not know the right writing)

My first time visit Chiangmai and my flight landed at 9.50AM and reach the hotel at 10.15AM, really impress me that they allow me to check-in even though its truly very early and myself and my wife could have some rest before we start explore ourself. The room is nice and clean, the check in time was fast too. The breakfast was provided however the variety was pretty few, but still consider ok. The only things is my room 510, the air-cond sounds was a bit loud and could make you awake at the middle of the night. Overall this hotel is good value for your money and having good location as well.

Our family of four stayed several nights in two hotel rooms and then one night in a terrace room so we can comment on both types of rooms. I would highly recommend the hotel rooms, rather than the terrace or residence rooms, even at the somewhat higher price. The hotel rooms are very nice. Good bed, bright and cheerful decor, great bathroom and a great breakfast each morning. The setting in the lobby is very nice and makes you feel special. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. The only negatives about these rooms are the lack of in-room internet access and the fact that we needed to book two rooms for our family of four. I wish there were more 4person rooms in Thailand. Internet access is only available in the lobby area with three computers and wireless. But then if on vacation you shouldn't be on the internet all the time anyway. The location is great being close to the old city, the night bazaar, or an easy tuk tuk ride anywhere in town. We stayed one night in a terrace room upon returning to Chiang Mai later in the week. We decided to save a bit of money and get one room plus an extra bed. If we planned to stay more than one night, I would have requested two of the hotel rooms again. The quality of the terrace rooms is far below that of the hotel rooms in all respects including the size of the bed, the bathroom, the decor, and general quality of the room and its furnishings. If you are over 5 foot 11 inches, be ready to duck to enter the bathroom. I hit my head really hard in the morning. I m 6 foot 2 inches. For the four of us we ended up with three of us in the regular bed and one child on the roll away bed. The three in one bed would have worked if the bed was like those in the hotel rooms, but it was smaller and therefore quite cramped. In summary, I would highly recommend the Maninarakorn hotel as it was a very pleasant place to stay, but book the hotel rooms.

Its a nice hotel, excellent location. Close proximity to the night bazar, and a convenient store close by. Malls are also easily accesible either by tuk tuk or taxi. The location within easy reach of everything really makes it an ideal place to stay. The breakfast could do with some improvement. The room in the main hotel building is good.Hotel staff are helpful. Internet facility int he lobby is convenient. I would stay here once again if I go back.

The lobby was very beautiful and the staff very gracious, friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, spacious bed, updated bathroom however no tub but the shower was very large and a great sitting room. The pool was very nice also and warm. This hotel is situated within 8 minutes walking distance of the Night market and about 10-15 minutes from the Sunday market. There are numerous tailor shops close by and fabric shops along with much shopping besides the market stalls plus a health food store directly across the street. Everything is so very convenient for walking however if you would like a taxi or tuk tuk there are many to choose from and always at the ready when you are in need. All very reliable and friendly. I even met a tuk tuk driver who was from close to where I live in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, unbelievable. He has a cousin who owns A-1 Thai restaurant here. It is a very small world! I would recommend this hotel highly and I will return again next year when I travel to the Elephant Conservation Center. It is a very good place to stay.

This is the second time we ve stayed at the Maninarakorn, both times in a deluxe room in the hotel block. Lovely big room with separate comfortable sitting area, tea/coffee making facilities, a huge comfortable bed, fantastic shower. Excellent breakfast providing for both eastern and western tastes. Each and every member of staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Just over a 5 minute walk to the night market. Most highly recommended.

Used this Hotel as a base for 2 weeks whilst exploring Northern Thailand, my room was in the annex building and as such was a very large room consisting of a seperate lounge and bedroom both were air conditioned seperately and were clean and well appointed the amenities were good. Tea and Coffee making facilities were provided.\r\nI found the staff in the Hotel all to be very friendly and helpfull and the facilities pleasant, the pool although narrow was long enough to swim in and was very refreshing after a days sightseeing although it may be a little too cool for some. I would definately use this hotel again when visiting Chiang Mai, the location is great too being a 5 minute walk from the Night bazzar bars and restaurants.

Used this Hotel as a base for 2 weeks whilst travelling round Northern Thailand. It is an excellent Hotel super location 5 mins walk from Night Market, main bars and restaurant areas. Stayed in the residence rather than the main hotel (They are all the same complex) The room was large seperate lounge and bedroom both individualy air conditioned bathroom with shower. Tea and Coffee making facilities were provided. The room was spacious and clean very good value for the money. I found all the staff I came into contact with to be friendly and helpfull and will definately stay at this Hotel again (so long as they don't increase the prices too much). As a tip just up the road from the Hotel is a non girly bar called Bar Geko which serves the cheapest drinks and food in Chiang Mai, the food was superb too.

Maninarakorn...Well, Just OK. Nothing special, but close to Night Market and easy access to all other areas in town. Breakfast not good at all for our taste, even the asian food dit not look apropriate. Hotel was very quiet, not many guests, seems like recession in Japan and Europe taking its tool here. Chiang Mai is changiging, for worse, I was there many times in the past, and I doubt I will return there. Level of polution in the Citty is incredible, totaly unhealthy. I used to enjoy the View of the town from Doi Suthep, but now town is invisible, cowered with thick cloud of smoke...When talk about polution, one comment about smoking policy in the hotel. All the rooms are Non Smoking, and no balconies... We book and paid for the room in New building, due to Non Smoking policy I accepted room in old building where I could smoke outside room, althought that room was cheeper, nobody mantion any money refund...SAWASDEE.com shoud have clear guidelines about smoking policy of some of hotels as more and more of them implementing that policy.

Reservation service:
Booking fine, no problems. Need clear information on smoking policy especially on the hotels who implementing it 100%.

Absolutely beautiful location, wonderful, friendly, attentive staff who were always willing to help when they could. The restaurant is a fantastic place to go for a sunset dinner or drink. We got a free upgrade to a suite which was gorgous, the only problem was that the lighting was very poor of a night time, very hard to get ready to go out hair, make-up etc. We used the torch for extra light at these times. The resort is located very close to the main pier so just a 5 min walk gets you to town. We would highly reccomend this resort to honeymooners, families and couples. Not really ideal for partying singles as it is very quiet and peaceful, a place to relax but still close enough to town and all other amenities. Loved it!!!

A nice hotel with a small but lovely and private pool on the 3rd floor of the main building. I stayed in the main building-which was beautiful-so I cannot comment on the terrace rooms. The breakfast was good. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. The room was clean and fresh. There is free internet access in the lobby with comfortable seating, and you can use your own laptop or the hotel's computers to go online. My only gripe is that the laundry service was way too expensive. I paid nearly 1000 baht to launder a bag of clothes that would have cost no more than 250 baht at an outside laundry service. I will be writing the management about the unfair pricing for laundry service as it left a bad taste in my mouth after an otherwise very pleasant stay.

We booked in the main tower as there were no elevators in the adjoining buildings and my elderly father needed the elevator. The pool was more of a lap pool and on the 3rd floor, clean though with sauna and steam rooms. Breakfast was okay with a mix of european, chinese and thai dishes. Hardest bread we have ever had though! Truly only a 5 minute walk to the night market. There is a 7/11 next door for drinks, etc. Would recommend this one.

Two of us had no hot water most of the time. There are no elevators which was not a problem for us but might be for others. The breakfast was fine and the staff helpful, and the location is good, near the Night Bazaar.

Reservation service:
Very efficient but once the credit card is debited there is no way to reverse the credit card payment and pay by cash or have others in your party place the room charges for their rooms on separate credit cards. So have each member of the party book separately, if possible.

Maninarakorn Hotel

Accommodation and facilities:
Excellent room, very clean and well presented....doors a wee bit on the low side. Only real negative was door security, cheap and nasty lock, easily forced. Breakfast OK tho no beans or tomatoes. Service excellent. Agree with previous comment about Tuk Tuk's etc drivers not aware of this hotel. Will definately stay again.

Reservation service:
Excellent

Accommodation and facilities:
On the plus is the breakfast buffet. It has good western food . Corn flakes, bacon and eggs etc. A negative is that it's new and nobody knows where it is ie tuk tuk and taxi. I moved after my reservation expired because the room is disfunctional. The bathroom was the worst. The entry door is only 5 8 1/2 high. There is no toilet roll holder. No shelving and to sit on the throne took a major contortion with one foot in the shower and twisted sideways. I also found the stairs difficult in that they are steep and narrow with low headroom. No elevator. Service was ok except for check out. When they learnt I was moving to new hotel they went very cold.

Nice hotel, massive rooms. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is pretty good. Pool looked nice but I did not use it. Conveniently located just outside the city and nearish the night markets.

Reservation service:
SiamWebHosting.com is good, quite easy to book online.

the place was ok. the rooms were quite nice. not a luxury or boutique place, but kind of a good city hotel. it was worth the money. the only minus was the breakfast buffet, which was very basic...

Reservation service:
this place was offered to us by siamwebhosting, because the manathai village was fully booked. booking service was good.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good and had a great selection of different tastes. Nice staff. The facilities in the neighbourhood such as restaurants, night bazaar, banks, internet are also very convenient. The hotels pick-up service woked perfectly. It is not the cheapest hotel you can find but we considered it value for money. We would return there again next time.

Reservation service:
very good service without any difficulties

Nice hotel, rooms are comfortable and functional but not lavish. Staff friendly, breakfast good, small restaurants and cafes surrounding hotel also adequate. And the travel agency at the front of the hotel really made the trip...great little place. One thing: the hotel is ~ 15min walk to the main strip of the night market, and you have to pass the hookers to get there. So at night as a single female traveler, was not my favorite thing to walk home through. Other than that Maninarakorn was just fine.

Great hotel, friendly service, nice pool and great suite room. Well located, close to the Night Markets. No in house restaurant apart from breakfast but not a problem as plenty of restaurants close by. I would stay here again.

Accommodation and facilities:
We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet hotel conviniently located at the heart of the city. Everything is just a 5-10minute tuk-tuk ride away or you could enjoy a 15minute stroll to the night market. We stayed at the terrace and the rooms were very spacious together with a little living area for the family to gather. The terrace rooms are removed from the main hotel and do not have lift access. The deluxe rooms are on the third floor so it does require one to climb several stairs, which we didn't mind. Service was good - the free trnsfer to-and-from airport was great. The hotel wasn't filled with tourists and we had free access to the little pool, steam, sauna and hot tub. Some suggestions for improvements include: brighter lighting in the rooms, an enclosed shower area, replacing the glass window in the bathroom. Breakfast was average and limited in choice, but it didn't bother us.

Reservation service:
Booking process was hassle-free. Would appreciate a more lenient refund/ reschedule/ transfer policy. We booked 3 deluxe rooms for a combined family holiday. When one of the family was unable to attend there was no refund/ transfer/ postponment policy despite advanced notice.

Accommodation and facilities:
Paid 200baht for airport pick-up. nice big 7 seater vehicle. hotel is hidden in an alley. walkable distance to night bazaar abt 10 mins. suite room was ok for the price i paid, abt 2600 baht. nicely furnished and big. no bathtub though, hotel corridors very dark and no aircon. shower in toilet runs either very hot or cold..difficult to get nice water temperature. breakfast was terrible, not buffet style. all you get is an american breakfast with some hotdog, sunny side up and bacon and some self-service cereal and bread. hotel was virtually empty, more staff than guests. swimmin pool is pretty small but ok since i didnt use it. fitness center not ready yet. hotels seems really new and most amenities are either not ready or starting to get ready. staff seems decent english. Note: Coffee sachet in room is not free. i got charged 50 baht for it which i think is ridiculous. 4 bottles of water are free, room has microwave oven though. nice lcd tv too and shower room is see through sytle top to bottom. door is lock it yourself and not card key. overall, is ok for the price at 2600 but if at full rack rate of 3500. no way...

Reservation service:
good.
