Accommodation and facilities:
This hotel was very nice.Staff here were very helpful and attentitive. The room unfortunately was full of mozzies. A clear window next to shower had you feeling a bit uneasy whilst showering in case anybody walked up to it and looked in.Bed a bit too hard but thats Thailand beds I guess,Tour desk very helpful drink and food prices too expensive.Pool had no lights at night so not pretty and quiet small.

Reservation service:

It was hard to get to. Keep hotel card with you for taxi. You can walk to anywhere in town but it's in a very small street so you have to watch for cars. The hotel itself was beautiful. Breakfast was good. Pool is nice.

Accommodation and facilities:
We had an enjoyable stay at the Manathai Village. The hotel is very clean and guest friendly. The room is decorated in Thai style with a four poster bed and a separate partitioned room for the bathroom area. The bathroom had both shower and bath facilites which were separate. The room was very clean but as some reviewers had commented, had a lack of chairs. This is very true but outside on the balcany there are plenty of tables, chairs and other furniture so its simple - bring them into the room. No problem. Job done. The gardens are very well maintained with plenty of oriental lamps around the pool and reception area. These come into their own at night as many of them are candle fired. It really is a dream feeling walking back into the hotel at night and seeing all these lamps fired up. The WI-FI is free but I had problems with signal strength from the room with it dropping out. On the balcony it works fine and the speed is reasonable. The pool area is very clean and it is a good size pool for swimming. It is not however very deep - maybe 5ft but is adequate for staying in shape and doing a few lengths. The breakfast is superb with plenty of western and Thai cuisine. The waiting on staff are well on the ball, greeting you when you arrive, getting you settled and immediately serving tea and coffee. Choice of omeletes and various dish options are swapped about each morning giving you a good choice. The hotel location really is good. It is possible to walk to the old city (20 minutes). Wat Pra Sing on the opposite wall of the old city (30 minutes), the night market (10 minutes) or the Pantip Plaza technical shopping complex (20 minutes) from this hotel. There are plenty of shops, wats, massage, restaurants etc all around this hotel to keep you busy for a while. There are plenty of Songthaews going up and down to take you all over the city so just flag them down. To the main shopping centre and most places is about 20 baht each. For booking trips the hotel is quite competative. They will organise trips to places such as Doi Inthanon at a good rate and also a Khantoke dinner is something I would recommend doing while you are here. Overall, a very good stay and would recommend. I would stay here again if I am in Chiang Mai Ian & Pairorh

The hotel is ideally located for walking to the Old City or the market areas. Staff were friendly and the hotel has a character to it although the room we had was noisy at night due to neighbourhood dogs. would recommend this hotel but request a room that has a balcony or sitting area on the lower level. At festive times such as Xmas or New Year the hotel operates a complusory dinner in there program. Personally i would prefer to have a choice in this.

Beautiful place, in a quiet area, very nice buildings with lots of wooden parts and decoration which look a bit like traditional thai houses. A quite modern and comfortable structure though. We were overall happy and satisfied with our 4-night stay at the Manathai Village. This boutique hotel is very charming, clean and is filled with beautiful people, very friendly and ever so helpful. The surroundings with all the greeneries and water features, blended with the sound of birds chirping and frog's croaking, put us in a holiday mood immediately. Inside of the room did not disappoint either, with its lovely woody theme and nice, big granite bath tub! Location is quite convenient too, at the quieter corner of the city centre, yet near enough to walk to the Night Bazaar (which was nothing great), but not right in the middle of all the noise and traffic. There is also quite a good massage place just across the main road of the hotel in the samll lane (Soi 2). Breakfast spread was not that great but good enough for a decent breakfast. :)

Lovely hotel, 10 minute walk to the night bazaar and 10 minute walk to Tha Phae Gate. Located on quiet back street. Good breakfast included. Nicely decorated rooms and large bathroom - the shower was the only negative - could not get an even water temperature, was either too hot or too cold! Very pleasant staff. Only 29 rooms so fairly small hotel, nice pool though only 7 pool side lounges. Fairly good breakfast included.

This hotel was lovely! It is set off one of the main roads in Chiang Mai so is very central but at the same time peaceful and quiet. Everything is within walking distance - restaurants, markets etc. The rooms are beautifully decorated in traditional thai style - just fantastic! The outdoor area is well landscaped with sun loungers and a small pool. Staff are attentive and provide a good service. Internet use is free, although not very fast. Overall a wonderful stay and good value for money. Would definitely return here.

we stayed in the slightly more expensive suite room which overlooked the pool area. The room was fantastic, very botique like with great attention to detail and a lovely bathroom(and hot shower). Our room also had a lovely outside area with a long couch and Thai cushions to relax on. You get all the normal services you would expect in a better standard of hotel such as free fruit and a turn down service. The common areas are very special with running water everywhere and a great Lanna style throughout the hotel. All the staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. As with all more expensive places the food and drink prices were high but obviously there are many places close by where you can get good cheap thai food. The location of the hotel is very good centrally located between the Tha Phae gate and the night bizzar. As other people have commented the hotel is down a soi but not a dirty small soi, just a normal Thai soi. The only possible grumble would be the fact that there are only about 7 sun loungers by the pool, so if lots of the guests on one day decide to spend it by the pool there can be a scramble for loungers early morning. Overall we were extremely happy with this wonderful little place.

AS there was a problem with a bathroom we were transfered to the Rimping Village hotel which was across the river. This was not quite as upmarket an hotel as the Manathai, but the rooms were well appointed, staff very friendly and helpful, good selection for breakfast.Towels were provided by the pool. A quiet hotel 10mins walk from the night market, but tuk tuk rank nearby. Ideal for the start of the Flower Parade in February on the Narawak Bridge about 8.30am where it wasn't crowded and the floats slow down for judging, therefore a good place to take photos. Only criticsm would be that you had to allow a long time for meals to arrived. Manathai looked very stylish, meal was excellant.Would be happy with either hotel another time.

I can only use superlatives when discussing this hotel. Only 29 rooms and this place is a jewel. On back streets so it is quiet, a very Asian influence with many antiques and exquisite in execution. From the moment you are welcomed at the entrance, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The resident manager, Mr. Sun, makes it a point to interact with each guest and no need is left unaddressed. Tour needs are tailored for each guest. The restaurant is top quality and your waist line is at risk after trying to sample all the fare provided for breakfasts. My son and daughter-in-law currently live in Chiang Mai and their choice for a hotel was magnificent. We stayed a week and would have liked to have stayed longer.

This hotel has very lofty aspirations. Unfortunately, the reality of the product does not live up to the proposition. We had a junior suite, there was no hot water in the wash basin, often no hot water in the shower, and extremely noisy plumbing from neighbouring rooms. Overall the room was more like a studio since the bathroom was not in a separate room. Very small. Front desk were unable to book the excursions we had asked for correctly and we ended up with something different to what we had asked for, and they forgot to arrange our overpriced transfer to the airport. For this price you could do better
