Sawasdee Welcome Inn, Bangkok

Sawasdee Welcome Inn is one of the best budget hotels in Thailand where you can find great affordable hotel in superb location. Merely a stone’s throw away from the legendary Khaosan Road, the hotel lies close to major attractions of Bangkok such as The Grand Palace, The National Museum, and Wat Pho Temple, to name but a few. The lovely hotel offers air-conditioned guestrooms as well as the simpler fan-only ones. Each is cosy and furnished with standard amenities ready to cater to your daily needs. Aside from a myriad of shopping and dining venues nearby, the in-house Satin Restaurant serves appetizing food and drinks. All friendly and helpful members of staff at the Tour Desk are happy to help you with tour and trip arrangements.

Accommodation and facilities:
I made reservations for the hotel online. Everything about the hotel appeared to be satisfactory. On my arrival at 5am saturday morning I was told that I could only check in from 8am. I insisted that the receptionist at least cnfirm my reservation. I was told that she was busy doing admin and that I hould take a seat. After travelling for so long I did not feel like sitting down anymore. i stood at the desk until she requested my passport. She then the hotel rooms and said that there was one available and that I could have a look. I had to walk up to the fourth floor. On my way up I noticed how delapidated the hotel was, aint was chipping, tiles were peeling off the floor. I was then shown a room with two single beds, no bathroom. The room appeared to be from a horror movie. It seemed as if it hadn't been used in along not time. It was covered in dust. The room did not have a private bathroom either, a communal one had to b used! I refused the room. I went back to reception and looked outside the hotel. On the opposite side was a wall filled with graffitti and an unfinished building, not a pretty sight at all. I decided to walk to the next SiameServices Smile Inn hoping that it would be better - It was not! The room here had a single bed with private shower and toilet the size of a bedroom door and the handbasin was just outside facing a closed window. The room was the size of a single bed with place at the foot end for a television on a table. The airconditioner was to big for the room. You would have had cold air blowing on you all night! Eventhough I paid for the hotel and it was non-refundable I decided not to stay at any SiameServices hotel/inn. It was definitely below expectations. The pictures on the internet are deceiving. I would not recommend a SiameServices hotel to anyone. I stayed at a more reliable hotel that was clean and had the basic necessities for the same price, closer to Khoasan Road.

Reservation service:
Making a reservation for the hotel was easy.
